I've always been an avid reader and writing just sort of followed. When I didn't like the way a book ended, I'd let my imagination run wild and paint a different ending in my head. New characters grew and I tried to get their stories on paper. I started with horror and straight sci-fi in my teens and eventually found romance.
I love to tell about the worlds and characters that sometimes seem so real to me. I write fantasy, futuristic, sci-fi, and paranormal romance, but if a character fascinates me, I'll give anything a try.
Iam on the fence at the moment I like the concept the story so far but the men I really want to bitch slap silly ok Lina is a strong independent busy underwear, games and pt special agent the blokes she's "now" mated with say "better get used to not having income cus u won't be working from now on " WTF" who do they think they are she isn't equal in that relationship I do feel like she's a slave tho why u ask they hold her neck to guide her tell her what not to do and other bullocks like that. I can honistly say I don't like this book am half way and the men r pricks honistly there is no love romance in this book at all , they make yes MAKE her apologises even when it's not her fault, threaten her with punishment if she doesn't do as they say, no trust they friggin search her pockets and won't let her do anything cus they don't believe she won't escape and leave them bunch of bullies and I hate this book but I hate to DNF books I will give it 10 pages more then Iam done
Ok I finished it all but was boring I skimmed a lot just to finish I didn't miss anything will I buy more of these book NO I won't I can honestly say I hated this book the two twats probably loved eat other and wNted a female to bully and order about knowing she can't say no or even look unhappy with out being called women or ur not going out etc
It really pissed me off when the heroine allowed her men to take over her responsibilities to her businesses. She didn't even fight it when they told her she needed to hire her own "people". I get falling into your love and relationships but to give up control of every single aspect of life was not appealing to me. In the bedroom, okay. In the relationship, fine. Over everything...no frickin' way.
Generally, I like Airies' shifter books, particularly the ones in the Primal series. This one, while I liked it, also really made my blood boil. So please excuse if you find the rest of this review a trifle incoherent.
Typically with shifters and with Airies, the H's (there are two in this one) are very dominant characters. Alphas, as they call them. These two are overbearing to the point of near fascism. Talk about double-standards and absolute inability to actually credit the h with any intelligence or integrity. These guys made me want to drive spikes into their heads. And the h, while she began as a kickass, intelligent, successful, brave, independent, physically strong woman-- one you could really see as a role-model--completely caved into the Hs' demands. (How her ego must have disappeared so totally is a mystery.)
The h, sent to shifter space to "rescue" a human woman hiding from another santir shifter, gets caught by the two Ardin of the santir pack. In fact, they're both caught. Now, of course, the h is stuck with these two, who find fault with everything she has done ever: defending herself when they first appeared; creating games that have characters too similar to some men they know (even though she proves she didn't base the characters on anyone living); they take over her ship (which she paid for, modified, and was a more than capable pilot of); they take over her accounts (she's filthy rich and suddenly her money and assets belong to the pack, and she has no access to it); they usurp her intellectual property (all her businesses, games, inventions) and then have the gall to make her an entry-level admin scut on their crew! They discount any information she gives them.
She's built up an entrepreneurial empire, they have not. They have a warship and maybe a city-sized pack of santir. They usurp all her assets and go on to treat her like a intellectual amoeba.
Yeah. They're not terribly lovable. It's hard to see what could, besides some kind of evil spell, make a woman love them. I don't get it. Aren't we supposed to fall in love with the Hs? And I lost any ability to empathize with the h about halfway through.
Sexy with good plot forward motion but with one major flaw I couldn't get past - no woman who wasn't a hard-core submissive could be happy in that relationship. There is a good bit of explanation in the beginning about what a strong woman Lina is. I can get on board with the whole Shifter mindset of mates and even the domination, but there is never any give in the men's relationship with her. They take over everything she owns, everything she has built on her own, and hand it to others to control. They deny her primal needs to run, they have sex at their discretion, even the little things that she explains she cares about, like her underwear, they insist she give up. Other than great sex I just can't fathom what she gets from this bonding. No "wild" woman could take this level of control. The author needed to either have the men give in on one or two things or adjust the woman so that she wasn't an alpha female. The two just can't co-exist.

I loved this book!! Great adventure and very steamy. That being said I hated that Lina went from being a strong powerful kick a$ woman to being a shadow of herself when she hooked up with her men. I wanted her to keep her strength. She had moments but it seemed too easy for her to cave to the men. Over all I loved the book and it is a favorite of mine!
