Ah, Mr Men and Little Miss, how wonderful you are!
These books made up so much of my childhood. No matter what I would go ahead and pick one up. I worked my way through them all a couple of times. Each one has a wonderful story for the child to engage with, each character being fun to read.
Everyone has a bias for their favourite character, yet every book is delightful.
What is the purpose of this book? To urge children to not climb on roofs? To keep kids from begging for expensive tumbling lessons? It was kind of lost on me.
The pseudonym sorcerer strikes again! Hargreaves poetically captures the true need for physical energy and excitement in our drab and increasingly modernised society. 5/5.
I absolutely loved these Mr Men and Little Miss books. I remember getting them from my granny every week. There was so much from these simple characters, I remember filling my little bookshelf with all these books making sure I had got them all in right order. I wish I still had these books but somehow most of them got lost with many house moves or my mum gave the rest away. If I ever have kids, I will make sure they get the chance to experience these wonderful, colourful books.
I did not like this book because I do not like doing a somersault. I also did not like this book because Little Miss Somersault did a lot of somersaults.
Finally, finally, you've given us an athlete, Roger Hargreaves: what a delight it has been to read about Little Miss Somersault.
Quite a series of adventures she has, this character. True to form, Mr. Hargreaves waits until the last two pages to give us readers an unexpected and hilarious ending.
FIVE STARS and thanks to this superb author and artist.
Bouncing and bounding into action little miss somersault gives us a great read as she tumbles all over the pages, and in another noteworthy event, Goodreads actually got the book number correctly matched up with the box set in this rare occasion, now that is worthy of a tumble! Little Miss #30
This book was about little miss somersault she doesn’t go through the door she climbs up the ladder and down and then goes to her room. And in the book I found out that little miss somersault is afraid of heights
Bought this a few years ago and finally decided to read it as I was 4 books behind my goal, childhood nostalgia, great read as usual, still trying to continue the whole Little Miss collection. It was an enjoyable short read.
I like that this particular Little Miss tale tackles a common fear, allowing children to realise fears are a normal thing to be faced with and not something to be ashamed of.
