A young book editor stumbles up from the site of a bombing in the London subway. He accepts a woman's offer of help and a hot cup of tea. He's never heard from again...A group of boys in upstate New York goes sledding. One doesn't come home...A military convoy approaches a lone figure on a dusty road north of Baghdad. The woman is Army Chaplain Jaime Richards--and it seems she's been gone a lifetime. After two years in paradise, Jaime has chosen to return to the "terris" world as a dual citizen, an Agent of Eden. But soon she will discover that life among mere mortals has become a living hell--and that a series of kidnappings are fatefully and tragically connected. For the victims are all descendants of Eden, and they have the one thing people outside of paradise want: A way to live forever.
This is a sequel to a book I read some time ago--"Chasing Eden," in which we find where the Earthly Paradise of Eden is located. Army Chaplain Jaime Richards was able to find Eden and, in the sequel, she's back after being missing for three years. And now she's an Agent of Eden on a mission....There is a third book and I don't know when I'll get to it. I have too many other books I want to read. Maybe there's time to read all the books you want in Eden!
The second in a trilogy, it's a great mix of intrigue with a Christian message. This book does not have that traditional Christian fiction feel to it. It is first about the story. The main character just happens to believe in the Bible. This book is about her return from the mysterious place called Eden that apparently still exists somewhere. Only a handful of people know how to get in and out. Jamie's been living there for 3 years, and returns because someone has kidnapped 5 children of former "gardeners" (what the Edenites call themselves). Very intersting.
Interesting combo of action/suspense, science fiction, & religion (all my favorite genre's). I didn't realize this was the second in the series until I finished this book, so I need to go read the other one because I want to know if there's more about Eden. Great book!!
After disappearing without a trace three years ago, Jaime Richards is found in Iraq by the American army. We learn that she has spent the three years in Eden becoming an operative. Her mission is to save 5 people kidnapped for nefarious research purposes regarding immortality.
Not what I would describe as heavy going. Probably a little too optimistic for real life. Good sequel though. Will definitely read the next in the series.
Beyond Eden by Cathering Coulter had alot of intrigue, romantic tension, and her characters came alive within the plots she created. A really enjoyable book.
