A woman for all seasons

Jodi and Tanner had been lovers for eight summers. And Tanner had spent eight lonely winters hoping she'd come back and stay on the farm--to no avail. Now all he wanted was to forget her... and Lara Jamison was just the one to help him do it.

Unabashedly sensual, bright and beautiful, Lara had come home to Morristown to practice law and put down roots. Tanner promptly declared fate had brought her to him and started planning their wedding. Lara wanted Tanner's love for always but she was afraid. Perfect as they were together in bed, Lara feared that Tanner was still seeing Jodi in his dreams ....

This was in a list where the hero is in love with ow, but I don’t think he ever was.
Yes, he had what we would call a fuck buddy for summer holidays since this girl stops and has sec with him for some weeks every year during her holidays.
He never expects more and she never promise, but eventually he tires of this situation and tells her that if she leaves him he won’t be there.
He actually decides to move on and as soon as he meets the heroine he’s very attracted to her and he falls in love with her.
I don’t think he was ever in love with ow, and when eventually the heroine finds out he had this kind of on off affair she thinks he was and is still in love with ow, so she decides to leave him.
When ow is back, it seems she’s back to stay and wants a real relationship with the hero but he’s very clear and tells her he doesn’t want her anymore because he’s now in love with the heroine.
There’s no real drama here, the hero is actually a good man, not a manwhore or a playboy. Maybe he was fascinated with ow until he grew up and understood he wanted a true relationship.
In present days he would tell her: hey, it was fun, we were fuck buddies for some time but now that I’ve grown up I need other things in my life as love, family, children. So thank you, se you around girl.
There’s a lil angst because the heroine thinks he doesn’t love her but the truth is he never loved ow, he only used her as she used him and they never had anything except sex and fun. That is actually no serious thing.
Good and light reading.

This is the book about two people who try to get over their first love and find a new one. The heroine already put her past behind. It was she who ended her first marriage. The H still had a problem to let go.
The book started very promising. The writing was good but the story could use more angst. I was waiting and waiting for the shoe to drop but it didn’t. Even when the OW made a reappearance it was somehow anticlimactic.
Hero’s first love or rather a mirage as he claimed afterwards seemed physically more fit and attractive than the heroine. The author obviously favored a little chubby and curvy females as the heroine .
A nice love story but it was missing that something extra to make it great.

Whew odd to have a normal average Joe hero really wanting to get married. Huge change from other most other stories. Liked the calm, logical heroine. The story was a bit long and NOTHING happened. The couple is together they have like two fights and the 'main problem' in the story trots in speaks to one of them and trots away. Looking for flash? This book aint for you. But need just temped story? Look no further.

The conversations between h and H as the author develops their character and their commitment and relationship is very well written. Its poignant, real and relatable. The secondary characters esp their ex-es mostly off pages play a great role in their character development too. Its the best story about how to move on from an unhealthy relationship and build one successfully. Hats off to this author for a very realistic portrayal of two people falling in love. These two have definitely earned their HEA.
