It's probably a "guy thing," but I always find it hard to understand the man-woman relationships in a romance.
That said, this well-written book also features non-stop action, plenty of suspense, and some well-handled chilling scenes. I enjoyed this book. With Chelle's EMT background, we have--in addition to a dandy plot--a window into the world of the EMTs including one brave lady Julie Jennings. There's a killer loose and what he leaves behind is strong stuff, but Julie and her partner must maintain their composure and skill levels in spite of the horror of the crime scene. So, too, does Jake, a no-nonsense lawman whose long-time experience helps keep him on track in spite of the media frenzy and his growing attraction to Julie.
I have yet to read a Cordero book that didn't keep me reading and turning pages and wanting more late into the night.
Hi, I'm the author and very excited about this book -
Deputy Sheriff Commander Jake Carson has his hands full with the investigation of a brutal multiple homicide, a troubled son and a vindictive ex-wife when he meets young, free-spirited paramedic Julie Jennings. He is immediately drawn to her and finds himself unexpectedly falling in love. Julie finds herself just as drawn to him. When Julie becomes the subject of an obsession, it puts both of their lives in extreme danger...
and I just received a review from Coffee Time Romance: (excerpt)"Final Sin is a real nail biter, and entirely too good to pass up, a true testament to Chelle Cordero’s talent."
I got the audiobook version of this book, and I can honestly say, if I’d have gotten the actual book I’m sure my rating and review would be better! However, this was not what happened.
I can say, the story itself was pretty decent.. but I have to wonder why this author allowed the audiobook to be released without someone listening to it and making the narrator fix the “accidents”.
There are several different times when the narrator loses her place and rereads the same sentence, then out of no where, apparently the narrator gets frustrated and makes a completely off the wall comment and ends up rereading the same last all over again. As annoying as it is to have to listen to someone stumble through a book, this was not the worst part...
The absolute worst is the dead silence randomly throughout the entire book!!! At the beginning it seems as if there’s no real rhyme or reason behind the breaks then it starts to align with new chapters. Either way, someone really should edit those random gaps of silence out, because I can’t be the only person who questioned if my phone stopped working randomly.
This was the worst and most unprofessional audiobook I’ve ever listened to. 😩
