Breakwater

Rate this book
Question: A bird and a fish may fall in love, but where will they build a home?

Something is harming Rookery Cove’s coastline, damaging the delicate ecosystem that provides many of their natural ingredients. Baen, a water elemental, finds the slow destruction intolerable and demands that Rookery Cove Aphrodisiacs look to the skies above the island for answers.

Airk makes his home in the skies over Rookery Cove. He notices the same kind of habitat degradation as Baen has. He suspects something foul is going on at the fisheries that produce the fish oil for RC Aphrodisiacs’s signature lube and demands that management investigate.

Into the clash between these disgruntled workers comes Gavin, an environmentalist hired by RC Aphrodisiacs to find the source of the contamination and provide a solution. He knows his chemistry, but no one told him he needed to bone up on his biology before taking this assignment.

Answer: In the breakwater, with the man who loves them both…

When not editing unruly grammar, I compose a few lines for my own muses. Gay erotica tends to intrigue me the most, set in a variety of settings from space age to modern times, from vampires and werewolves to shape-shifters and even the occasional human. After spending half my life in these realms of fantasy, I still love to visit new places and meet new characters whenever my muse drops by.

Can a bird fall in love with a fish? Maybe in the real world no, but in the Fantasy World of Rookery Cove it has happened. But like in the real world, love is sometime trouble and Airk, the birdman, and Baen, the fishman, are drawn apart and now the comunication between them is impossible. They need an impartial figure and Gavin is sent to investigate a pollution problem, but from the first time he meets the two strange beings, he also choose the role of peacekeeper between the two.

Airk is strong and reserved, Baen open and reckless. They are at the opposite polar, air and water and need a piece of land to meet. And this land arrive with Gavin, who was chimically sedate to better accept the strange world of Rookery Cove. And in fact, his reaction to the discovery of this strange men is very pacate and soon he adapts himself to this new reality.

A rather short story, embedded in a more complex series: maybe to better understand this world it would be better to read also the other books. Nevertheless the story is funny and enjoyble.
