aka J. C. Wilder

Jane Hamilton was born on 15 september 1965. After six years working as a software tester for CompuServe Inc., she's working as a Business Analyst for the State of Ohio. In her past she also has traveled with an alternative rock band and currently volunteers for her local police department as a photographer. She left the world of big business to carry on conversations with the people who live in her mind, fictional characters that is. She writes her novels according to her mood - if she's feeling dark and dangerous, she writes as J. C. Wilder, and if she's feeling sassy and brazen, she writes as Dominieque Adair.

She lives in Westerville, Central Ohio where she's owned by a Japanese Akita named Severena and a really obnoxious Jack Russell Terrier named Copper Penny. She spends the majority of her time dusting her 6,000 books and staring at her blank computer screen in complete terror. When not writing, she devotes much of her time to studying the medicinal uses of herbs and essential oils.

Seducing Jane Porter was an unexpected surprise.

This book was recommended to me by another book blogger. As always, I will usually read any received / requested books within 48 hours give or take.

You have several different categories that erotica books can fall into. Too innocent. Too bold (Is there such a thing, really?). Too pathetic. Just too .. boring.

Seducing Jane Porter is none of the above. This novel is surrounded by some interesting characters wrapped in pretty packaging filled with class. Dominique Adair created a fun world that is obtainable. Some prefer to read books that could only be fantasies. Perhaps this is one of those books to you. But, the characters, the stories, the depth .. this book is well written and left me smiling.

Jane Porter is a submissive woman who is partners with her best friend. They own an RSVP business that caters to those in need of even planning.

Jane spent two glorious years with *drum roll please* an asshole that decided to say, “Hey baby, I’m married with kids but I’d like to pay for your apartment and bump uglies whenever I call you.”

She dumped his sorry ass .. good for her.

After a year of celibacy, she finds herself attending an event that she and her friend planned. This book is filled with tasteful BDSM content. When I use the word tasteful, it by no means there is no nitty-gritty. I just means that the author pulled moments to life that seem real.

Masked and disappointed, Jane feels defeated that she will not be able to meet a man who will give her the satisfaction that she needs. Then, tada! Antonio, the birthday boy, seduces her into shivers.

This book does have a huge cliffhanger. I am usually not a cliffhanger fan, but it was inserted at the right moment. I am looking forward to reading Educating Jane Porter which happens to be the second book of the Jane Porter series.

Line of the book:

Being a sexual submissive was similar to Double Dutch jump roping, once you learned to navigate ropes, you never forget the rush.

I recommend this book to ADULTS ONLY. This is an extremely erotic book filled with BDSM content. There is your forewarning. If you’re curious or disgusted .. you can either take the bull by its horns or buzz off

Basically the author took a book, gave you the first 3rd free (which kindle does anyway) and then charged you around $2.50 for the second third and the final third of the book. So you pay $5 and have to stop and download the whole thing.

But my 2 stars is based on this tiny part as a book- which is how it is packaged. As a book, it lacks. If she put all 3 together it may be worthy of more stars. If the characters were well developed, the plot thick and complete, the tension palatable and enticing.

This wasn't like getting 1/3 of a cookie. It's still a cookie and yummy, you just want more. It was more like getting 1/3 of a ship. It sunk without the other 2/3rds.

This is an example of literary Chunking. A new publishing concept that I abhor.

The book was not at all what I expected. I'm a fan of Anne Cain's cover art, and the cover and title for this book had me expecting something fun, light, and kind of sweet, with a strong heroine's point of view. I think perhaps the art direction that they gave Anne might have been a little misleading. Her covers are perfect for the type of book I like to read — subtle, deeply textured, evocative, and almost magical. The book, on the other hand, was all bare skin and kinky casual sex, and it would have been nice to get a warning by way of an Ellora's Cave kind of cover, so that I'd know right away that this was not my kind of genre or story or book.

There was no emotional connection between the hero and the heroine. They see each other across the room and are immediately in lust. He talks dirty to her and gets her hot, and then they jump into bed together with nary a thought. It seemed oxymoronic that the heroine would be described as kind of a sexual liberal but also described in a way that made her seem also conservative and repressed — I guess the author wanted to give the impression that the character can be both wild and passionate in bed, but inexperienced enough so that her encounters with the hero would seem new, as though she were "like a virgin" in a sense. But that's not how it came off at all.

In a nutshell, I didn't like it, and I won't be reading the sequels that were so obviously baited in this book.

I actually didn't mind this book simply because it showed positive D/s dynamic for a change. Which makes me happy.

Yes, the love scenes were a bit purpley and made me snigger a little, but the kinky aspects were hot.

I might check out the later books in the series, but this was fun little read.

I mean this was not a deep novel, but not all porn needs to be deep. I also don't think this book is serious literature, but I take it for what it is.

Good freebie from Amazon

God how many times had I promised myself not to buy into these short stories that leave you hanging and having to purchase the next 4 or 5 for 2.99$ each:(

This was hot...point blank. It's starts with Jane, a submissive, falling for her master.
Just when she thinks that their relationship will escalate to another level, marriage, he tells her that he's married and had kids. With a broken heart Jane leaves and decides to take a hiatus from sex and the world of submission.

Fast forward a year and Jane is celebrating a year of celibacy. As she and her business partner Lily, prepare for their client's party, Jane decides this is the best opportunity to get back out there joining those in the BDSM world.

When the sexy and sleek Antonio, the birthday man, spots Jane in the crowd he's already made up in his mind that she'll be his. Everything about her calls to him and he's determined to capture her not only for the evening, but the entire weekend.

These two are definitely hot for and with one another. The chemistry is combustible even before they begin touching one another. I feel like this was a great teaser leading into book two, and although I hate that I'll have to purchase each 'baby' book instead all the stories as a set, I think it might be worth it. I also can't wait to read more about Lilly and Jean Jacques.

Seducing Jane Porter by Dominique Adair

First in the Jane Porter series

2 stars

Jane Porter has been celibate for a year. After finding out that her former master was married and attacked her she vowed to prove him wrong. She attends a party for the very rich man Antonio Villareal. Meh. It wasn't bad, but to be honest I was expecting a lot more. I thought I would get something hot or maybe even entertaining. I don't know what I was hoping to get from reading Jane Porter but I wasn't blown away. I was more interested in the side romance between Jane's friend and that other guy with the French name.

Jane and Antonio just didn't captivate my attention. They were interesting together, but I wasn't swooning over Antonio and I found Jane to be an idiot. I'm debating if I'll finish the series. I may or I may not.

Whimsical Writing Scale: 2

Kick-Butt Heroine Scale: 1.5

Swoon Worthy Scale: 1.5

Plotastic Scale: 1.5

Cover Thoughts: I actually think the cover is cool. I thought it was going to be a rockstar romance. I was mistaken, but I still really like the cover and I think it's the book's best feature.

Grabbed this for free for my kindle. The first book I have ever read with a BDSM type theme. It was pretty hot, but I gotta tell ya, for this kind of book there was way to much set up. It was probably 40% of the way through before there was even a whiff of sexual tension, let alone any getting it on. Don't get me wrong, I like some strong character development in my erotica, when done well it just makes it all that much better, but I am not sure this was done well. And it ended w/o any resolution, it's part one, gotta get the next installment to get some resolution to all those conflicts that so much time was spent setting up. Blah! I am sure this is a teaser to get you stuck on the author/series, but it didn't work for me. I was not captivated by these characters or the situation enough to have to get the next one to know what happens, so there you go.

The initial short story in a series. A free read and a cute little literary morsel. Jane has been without any romance in her life for a year now, recovering from a very damaging affair with what turned out to be a married man. She was completely blindsided by this unprincipled person--she usually has been very good at spotting those jerks--and now she is attending a party as her first foray back into the dating scene. She encounters a man who will turn out to be very important in her life--little does she know how important. The succeeding novellas and short stories continue on with Jane's story.

Hot for being a short story. It definitely hangs on a cliff with foreshadowing to a threesome with Antonio's friend Santos. Pretty hot! :) And no one argues with free!

Very hot read, and it's only the first of a serialized volume. I was a bit hesitant to read it, because of the kinky content, but now I'm asking ,why did I put this off for so long?

Very hot. I’m.

I recommend the book; because it was very descriptive, like it was happening to me. I hope the next book is as detailed.

*Inhalt:*

Warnungen: detaillierte Sexszenen, BDSM Szenen

Grundidee 3/5
Schreibstil 4/5
Spannung 2/5
Emotionen 4,5/5
Charaktere 4,5/5
Erotik 4/5
Liebesgeschichte ?/5

*Fazit:*

Just when I thought that I was too picky for erotica, I find this gem. Now, it's been sitting in my Nook for a while and I finally decided to read it. I definitely liked it. Lots of sex by different couples which totally worked for me.

My biggest beef and why I should really give this a 3 star (but I'm feeling generous) is that this is a serial and it's extremely short. There was no indication that this was a serial when I first started reading. I hate serials in general, but can accept them if the 'episode' actually ends. It doesn't here.

Jane is at a party and has sex with the birthday boy, but this is a birthday event so this book is really the first introduction before the commercial. I wasn't thrilled with that at all.

Despite liking the set up, this should have been longer. At least until the weekend was over. The writing is solid and could really have changed my view on erotica serials. As it is, I'm not sure if I'm going to run out and pick up the next installments. (And I better stop now before I decide to drop a star because I'm considering this my good deed of the year ;)

ok the length of this story combined with the last paragraph is an insult to the intelligence of the reader. All the jane porter stories together would still not fill one book, so the idea of selling them as different works, and finishing the book after 67 pagees (50 of which were the most boring intro ever) by saying

"Are you on the edge of your seat? Are you dying to know what happens to our happy couples? Stay tuned for our next installment, educating jane porter"

Is just outraging arrogance of the writer. And I can accept arrogance from Bukawski or Oscar Wilde. But from someone who can barely write bottom class porn?

No we are not on the edge of our seat, we dont give a damn about what happens to your unrealistic half-dimentional couples, and we don't think it's worth reading anything you write ever again because it wasn't even 67 pages of acceptable quality material. But even if it was, even if some genie managed to transform Aldair into J.Fuking K Rowling, after this kind of behaviour towards the readers, i would still not spare a cent, or a second on her again.

For a free short story with a bondage party type of theme, I expected more. I wanted the author to make me feel like I was there, but it didn’t happen.

Jane Porter was a sub who was betrayed by her former Master when she found out he was married. I was glad that she made a stand and left him instead of being his mistress/submissive. You go girl! After that she basically tortures (my use of word) herself into celibacy for an entire year! She plans and attends a party in which she hopes to find herself a new Master. Antonio Villareal was looking was struck the first moment he saw he and knew that he wasn’t going to share her with anyone, unless she asked.

The sex scenes were pretty hot and I enjoyed reading this story, but I don’t think I will read the next one. I do recommend this short story to anyone looking to live the life of a submissive on the prowl. I wouldn’t mind going to one of those bondage parties – just to watch though – not to interact.

I have read some erotica in my time but this one is more than I am used to. Jane is a vulnerable woman who likes to be a submissive that has been hurt in a past relationship. She has been celibate for a year and is going to change that when she attends a S & M party that her business partner helped organize.

It is very interesting to read how sex and pleasure plays a part in some peoples completion. Jane needs to be a submissive and needs to find a strong partner that can satisfy and take care of her without wounding her again.

I would recommend this book to someone who is interested in knowing how bondage and sex play a part in peoples lives. It is a short story with a sequel out there for the next installment of Jane's explorations. If you are not used to reading this, you may blush!

Since the four "books" in this series(Seducing JP, Educating JP, Reinventing JP and Hot for Teacher) are actually short stories that combine to form no more than one real book, I am basing my review on the series as a whole.

While there are certainly erotic scenes throughout the books - the first encounter between Jane and Antonio is probably my favorite - the series loses any significant BDSM flavor pretty early on.

Generally okay(with the exception of Hot for Teacher which I considered so weak that you'd be better off stopping after book 3)- but sprinkling the occasional "Master" in along with a couple spanking scenes didn't really satisfy my BDSM itch.

This is an incomplete book. It ends with a statement that if you want more, you should buy Educating Jane Porter. Not a bad marketing tool, but this leaves you empty if you were expecting a complete book.

Overall, it shows good promise. The writing is good, and I think the next parts could come together to make a good story, but as a stand-alone book, this is not that great.

I feel that this book had some extremely pleasing part and yet lacked in other areas.

Some things I enjoyed like that the storyline was great to start off and the spelling and grammer was well done. I also liked the main character Jane and her friend who both have sarcastic and spunky additudes.

I dislike the ending because it felt like an incomplete chapter. But I feel this was one of the only lackings that bothered me. I hope that the next book doesn't have a similar problem.

Overall this BDSM book was good and had a nice storyline to go with it.

I really enjoyed this first story into the Jane Porter world but unfortunately as much as the story and characters grabbed me, I will not pay $7 for a book that isn't even 200 pages to finish the whole series. I would've purchased the rest of them if they were $.99 but with each of the next installments ranking in over $2.50 and under 100 pages, I won't do it. Too many things to read and not enough money to put out that much for an incomplete book. The only other bad thing with this read is that I really enjoyed Antonio and Jane but really wanted more about Lily J.J.

Jane hasn't had sex in a year and now she is ready to get back into the game after midnight...and not a second before. I personally thought the book was fine. Guy sees girl across the room and wants girl. My only problem is that this is such a short book with multiple parts. Short doesn't bother me it is having to buy those short parts for $3 a piece. I know authors need to make money, however not that amount for less than 100 pages. This first one was free so I don't regret reading it but if I continue my wallet will.

It's THREE PAGES LONG...

Okay, it's more than three pages, but not by much. I downloaded this for free from Amazon for my Kindle. I'm sorry I didn't pay more attention to the reviews on Amazon, I won't be purchasing any more romantic "freebies" unless I pay attention to what I'm really going to be getting which is a very short PART of a short novel.

On another note, this story was forgettable for me. I am glad I didn't waste my money.

I've read some erotic stories, and I believe this is a well written one, since it does not go overboard like some do. It keeps you reading, wanting to know what's going to happen next, which is always good. I did not like is the characters' stereotypes; we have Antonio who is latin, muscular, and then Jane, who is blond, curvy, and all the descriptions one might think of--like I said: stereotypical. But other than that, is a good story.

This one was ok it started off with a woman getting scorned by a lover. From there she wait a year before she dares to do anything with a man. Then we end with her going to a bondage party and having sex with a man who she is enamored with from the beginning. The book ends saying if you are sitting on the edge of your seat then try our second book. If you want a quick read in the rated x department this one is for you.

was a very short book, one of those that leave you hanging after 4-5 chapters to go to the next book. It was a pretty quick read & it was not bad, my only complaint is that the lead female character was a little unbelievable in her sexual exploits....too many at one time & the male leads well cocky just doesn't express them enough. Similar story to a lot of the bdsm out now guy sees a woman he wants goes after her, catches her easily & then brings friend in.

Totally unimpressing the first 40%. The balance, HOT. I would have been very impressed had the author finished the book and not clif-hangered it. I read so many books a week by the time I think to get to the other 2 books I will have forgot the first book.

I am not excited about having to re-read book 1 when I have book 2 & 3.

I tend to get bored reading the normal love stories, so I turn to Kindle smut to liven things up. This was an easy read, and I was able to finish it in one night, like most. The story progressed a little slow for me and the ending seemed to leave a lot out and hanging for what will happen in the next novel. Overall it was a good short book and what I was looking for.

"If you look at the three novellas in this series as a single book, it's actually a decent read. Individually, they are all a bit short. I paid a total of 4.80 for all three, and it was certainly worth that. It happens over the span of a weekend, and I would have liked a little more on the scene side, but still a decent read."

I have to say I am slightly embarrassed to admit that I read this series. It is not the type of book I normally read. I have been hearing a lot about erotica and have some friends that are writing it. I wanted to see exactly what erotica is. While I didn't care for some of the language (perhaps I am a slight prude), I did enjoy the storyline and even the sex scenes were hot.
