When her father was convicted of a violent murder she knew he didn't commit, Mary Margaret vowed to clear him. But now, eight years later, she is working as a showgirl in Reno and is in serious debt to her low-life ex-husband. And her father is still serving a life sentence.
Then Reverend Dane Barrett--the most unlikely minister Mary Margaret has ever seen--shows up at her door with information about her father's case. They are improbable allies, but Mary Margaret and Dane join forces to expose the real killer. And in the process expose themselves to a dangerous enemy--an enemy intent on keeping the past buried.

There’s a lot happening. Lots of people and places to keep track of. And then not a whole lot of reward at the end. Will her father get out of prison? Is Scott going to jail? Why does Dane’s mom just instantly like Mary Margaret? It’s like they were trying to wrap everything up but ran out of time? Or motivation? It just sort of runs out of energy and ends.
