The Fee: Exposing the Invisible

Rate this book
"The Fee." The clash between love and hate, sacrifice, and the consequences of following one's heart makes for a compelling narrative. The themes of segregation and desperation add depth and social relevance to the story. The imagery of a burned church, dead bodies, and an explosion in a small-town Vermont setting create a haunting atmosphere likely to keep readers on edge. Including an older man with stories behind a burnt rebel flag hints at a rich history and adds a layer of mystery to the plot.
Bannerman is a storyteller whose shift from theological/psychological horror to a love story with devastating consequences promises to surprise and captivate readers.
"The Fee" is a thought-provoking and emotionally charged tale that explores the complexities of love, hatred and their impact on individuals and communities. The narrative focuses on unveiling the mystery of who is behind the devastation, adding an element of suspense and intrigue to the story.
A compelling read for those who enjoy emotionally g, it sounds like charged narratives and stories with unexpected twists.

About the author

Jake Bannerman

Jake Bannerman made his violent entrance into the world as an author, when he released his first book, "The Pitchfork Diaries Vol. 1"

in Fall of 2011. Proudly breaking boundaries with his middle finger held high in the air for the world to see, Bannerman returns with the first book in his new "Family of Dog" series: THE HARVEST.

The Harvest, once again questions the very thing that people hold most dear to their hearts; religion. Bannerman's writing, will not only tear open wounds you never thought possible, he will take pleasure in digging his fingers down deep into your gaping sores just to watch you squirm. With no apology, Bannerman continues to leave the literary world with its jaw firmly planted on the ground, while laughing, he kicks dirt in its eyes.

If you are looking for an author who plays it safe, you might as well put Bannerman on your banned book list. Bannerman is the

equivalent of an author/rock/porn star that enjoys nothing more than saying the things that everybody else is afraid to say. With no qualms in telling you he is damn good, Bannerman's books back him up by ranging from extreme horror to mind numbingly skillful

situations, his books bring raising hell to a whole new level.

Finally finished my first book of March 🍀

The Fee by Jake Bannerman

Talk about jumping back in time! This novella discusses everything you can imagine; racial divide, murders, wacky nuns, and a headless teddy bear.
There was so much action going on, it definitely kept me on my toes with each chapter! I wasn’t sure what to expect lol!
Towards the end of the book, I caught a case of the giggles…and while I won’t give it away, I’ll leave you with this:
Don’t pass out in the closet! You’ll never know who is going to open those doors!

I am giving this 5stars and here is why. The writing is unique, and the story is told exactly how the author intended it to be told. It is different, but different is sometimes a good thing and in this little, short story Jake Bannerman made different interesting, its rough around the edges and crude which in my opinion is what made it good. While this might not be a book for everyone, what book really is? I will definitely read more from this author!

I don’t even know what I read. So hard to understand the way it was written. Didn’t like this at all. Story was not that good.
