Mana extraction goes badly. And it's quite the euphemism of the year. Mana and Maya have a philosophical conversation about life, love, death and taxes. Enoa and Miriam get closer. The Earth begins to undergo intense geological upheaval with catastrophic consequences. Will joining the colloid be the solution?

Beware, o humans, for the end is nigh!

The action continues to thunder along but unfortunately I feel other qualities are slumping a little. There are probably 100 decapitations between this and the prior volume which takes a little of the impact out of one of the most notable and tragic deaths in the series. I actually laughed because it had become so redundant. Still, between the last chapter and the strange visions of the future, it's still compelling and with only a few (fan translated) volumes left, I'm very curious to see how it plays out, if not a little prepared to be underwhelmed. Endings are tough!

Now that I’m forced to read fan-made translations I miss the work done by Kumar Sivasubramanian, Philip Simon & Steve Dutro for Dark Horse Comics...but my Japanese is a little rusty and I really need to know how this epos ended.
Hiroki Endo is writing towards the finale and it promises to be quite spectacular.
