Welcome to a whimsical new series! Joy Sikorski ( How to Draw a Radish ) has created a playful tale that makes learning to draw fun and fear-free. Children join an adventurous tomcat named Little Man on a lively journey, discovering easy ways to capture what they see?including a reflection in a puddle, made from squiggly lines, and a hungry goat, friendly dog, and pigs wallowing in mud. By the end, kids will have successfully illustrated more than 100 things!
You know how their are some art books that you can read? This is one and likely it will be one of my favorite books of any kind this year. It is a simple illustration and color book (just what I was looking for) that describes the scenes and surroundings of a cat named Little Man who lives in the marsh. It includes wildlife: blackbirds, bullfrogs, swallowtail butterflies, muskrats, squid, and more. It points out the colors of things in the surroundings such as the coral reef and the buoys in the water. This is a relaxed, fun book that reminds us not to mind smudges and drips in our work. Highly recommended.
