Elizabeth Stevenson found herself for the second time in her life— all alone. In one fell swoop, she found herself divorced, living in a new city, a new home, and a new job. The last thing on her mind was falling in love. Facing her future with many unanswered questions, her past begins to haunt her in ways and levels that she never imagined possible. Between the choices we made yesterday and today... define the life we live in the future. But will Elizabeth be able to embrace her past in time before she loses her future?
This was a good book! I only noticed a few instances of wording errors and writing was good. I definitely could have delved more into the relationship aspect between the lead and Chris. They were interesting characters and I do think an opportunity was missed there. FOtherwise, good character development and readability with this story. I’d definitely pick up more from this author.
3.5 stars rounded up out of kindness to a new author and because I’m not certain my GoodReads Giveaway e-copy was a final edition. That said, there are many grammatical errors, wrong words and clunky phrasings in my copy that made my reading experience frustrating.
The story itself is decent even with the convenient circumstances at all the right moments. I also appreciate author, Lisa Dewald’s, restraint when it comes to language and sexual scenes. Passion and romance are far more interesting than gynecology, imho.
A good balance between Elizabeth and her two relationships, (husband/ex and new boyfriend) was achieved as was the development of the three characters. They all experienced some change and growth which makes the story more interesting, for me.
I’m not an huge fan of the past lives theory but that storyline was integrated well and easy to follow, if a lot predictable; sigh.
All things considered, an interesting love story that’s multi layered but in serious need of a proofreader and editor📚
I won this book through a Goodreads giveaway and was a little worried that it didn't have any reviews or ratings at all yet. I am always a little leery of self-published works (my guess that this could be the case for this book?) because they don't often have editors and can be hard to slog through. There were a few issues with incorrect words being used but overall the writing was fine. The main character was pretty well-developed but the rest of the cast felt two-dimensional. The book started out with a fairly normal "divorced woman starting over" vibe but at some point things went in a direction I wasn't expecting. It wasn't bad, and I don't want to spoil anything for future readers, it was just... unexpected. I wish more time had been spent building up the relationship between Chris and Elizabeth, especially since so much time was devoted to going back and discussing her relationship with Richard. Overall it was a fine read and I didn't feel the need to give up or throw my e-reader across the room at any point, which has been the case with other books in the past.
First, I received this book in a Goodreads giveaway. This is my honest review of the book The Other Half.
I’m honestly speechless. A love through all time story that questions your belief of fate, past lives, soul mates and coincidences. The stories really drew me in and gave me the run of emotions.
I received this book as a give away and absolutely LOVED it! It was a fast read and grabbed you in from the beginning. I would suggest making the letters from the past in a different font for both characters writing in the journal. this was a beautiful story that kept the audience intrigued.
Really liked it but was a tad disappointed that one character wasn't developed as deeply in the end. Still, def worth the read. I won this book in a Good Reads Giveaway!!!
It was an enjoyable read. It was a little slow and the narrator would change randomly which was a little distracting. I enjoyed the love story from the past.
