How can we enjoy lasting freedom from the past, our own failures and the hurts inflicted by others? Through realistic advice and simple exercises, this work shows how each of us can become the people God made us to be.
While this book is well-written, well-organised and biblically sound, it also seems quite basic. It's about freedom to be the people God made us to be, and starts with the basic foundation of Christian faith. It's quite readable, with anecdotes here and there to illustrate, but I don't think I found anything new or even particularly inspiring.
Since the author mainly worked with students, I gradually realised that this book is probably more appropriate for that age-group, and perhaps for new believers. For those who have been Christians for a long time and who are still caught up in false guilt or other enemies of freedom, I don't think a book like this would help; professional counselling and prayer would be - possibly - of more use.
But for people just starting out on the journey of faith, or young people struggling with a lot of difficult emotions, this could well be a good book to read.
