Blood Ties is a powerful tale written by Gloria Murphy in 1987. The story is about Kevin Mathews, a happy three year old. His mother is Christine; his father, Neil; a lawyer. A parent's worst nightmare comes true when their son disappears from the park.
As the book unfolds, you see into the confused mind of a kidnapped child and the unending nightmare the family goes through. The book relates to suffering, love, and family ties. I agree with Publishers Weekly who stated: "An ingenious plot... skillful... dramatic!" Almost everyday I hear on the news about a malevolent* abduction of a missing child; or one that escaped after being held captive. Some children are never found-other times there can be a happy ending. Blood Ties will keep your attention until you turn the last page.

Bloodties is Gloria Murphy's second book. It's an gripping novel of kidnapping, torture, undying love and unending terror.

I read this in 6 days but its an very good book so far. It's an blend of edge of the seat domestic suspense, horror, and mystery.

If you like Mary Higgins Clark, Try "Bloodties". Given 4 stars for the story and the book.

Blood Ties is an excellent yet disturbing book that deals with child abduction.

A 3 year old boy is kidnapped and his pregnant mother nearly has a nervous breakdown and is convinced by her husband that the boy is dead. Years later the husband suffers a stroke and she must take in a boarder for extra money. It's fairly obvious early on that the new boarder is the missing child but his discovery of this and the relationships he develops with the family keeps the book interesting.
