This would have been a three star book if the writing was better. I love a well written book and while this one has a fabulous story, the uneven writing and abrupt ending unsettled me.
Failure to draw parallels to the state of America today is to have fallen asleep at the wheel. The green agenda politicians so gleefully push today has resulted in America becoming a third world country in this book. When trees and not children are valued, we all lose.
Too bad history tends to repeat itself as nobody remembers enough about the past to avoid the same mistakes.
As a sequel I thought this book lacked some in development and didn't quite live up to the quality of The Illuminati. Regardless, it was still an excellent read with a quite unique concept for historical events.
Neither The Illuminati nor The Thor Conspiracy have aged well. I enjoyed them in the 1990s when I first read them, but on a second read this year I was both amused and disappointed by the poor writing (Burkett uses the phrase "he could care less" when it should be "he could not care less" as well as other common grammar errors) and outlandish plot.
Overall a great read. A little hard for me to get into it in the beginning. It has to do with our government and, of course, not everyone was honest. At times, I found it scary to think maybe our government could turn out the way it was in this book. Check it out! Let me know what you think.
Environmentalist have taken over the US government and society and America is no longer a world power. A 50 year old coverup regarding the ozone layer threatens to expose the environmentalist culture and power.
This was a very interesting book. If we aren't carefully, this could actually happen to the USA and the world. People need to really question the actions of its governing body and not just go along with their programs.
Enjoyed The Illuminati better...this one seemed a little anticlimactic to me at the end, but still a fun government conspiracy thriller...made me want to read up a little more on global warming :)
Lots of interesting tie ins to current events although it was written 15 years ago. Good plot; tho' very "convenient" wrap up, and not the most intriguing prose I've ever read.
