yes, this is another YA book from the 80s. yes, this was also pure garbage. this book made me SO LIVID that i can't even type a coherent review. if i could give negative stars, i WOULD.
A young American girl who has a long Polish last name feels that this simply doesn’t fit in in America and ultimately changes it to something more “american” sounding. Absolutely awful message for a YA novel. The protagonist is however, very likeable and there are some nice descriptions of New York.
