(Novel completed) And we get to the end... Buff, where do I start? Two protagonists caught in an unlimited flow of survival, without surprises and with some plot holes that there is no way to catch them (why? for what purpose? how?) I read in the comments that the last "game"(which is very long and repetitive and with red flags on characters who want to explain with psychological wear?) is saved by that End! What’s end? if it opens more questions than it closes (which also does not close anything) and there is no plot twist because that the protagonists ********** is obvious from the beginning. ...Are we back to psychological wear and tear? Okay, yes, there is, so what? It is normal that there is one and it weighs on them but what happens in the last volume is not a consequence of this wear and tear. In no moment I felt that loss of sanity of the protagonist by all what he has had to go through, I just felt tired to see how, after four volumes, they did not know how to talk things and communicate, so much love that I will do things behind his back because I love him... really? 😌 Much better. Sorry to who came looking for a review and only met my relief ❤️. (And, no, English is not my first, or even second lnguage)
I think this is one of the weakest c-novels I've read. It's an infinite flow, which was what caught my attention, but I thought it was a lot less polished than others, the author made many of mistakes from chapter to chapter and at times it seemed a bit messy. The story was interesting and I really like the way it was solved at the end. I also enjoyed the depth of the characters and their development, it felt believable. So, it follows XRD, a 28 young male working in finance and with no relation to video games which, in a life and death situation, sees a mysterious elevator in the middle of the street that takes him to a different hostile world full of monsters and ghosts, in which he, along with other "players", must solve a the puzzle to be able to get out without dying in the process. However, in this novel, each time he dies the instance just resets and he can work to fix the previous mistakes to make it out and save his partner, LQ, a bright and smart gamer whom he meets in the simulation world as soon as he leaves the elevator for the first time. There's lots of gore and darkness but, for some reason, the book is not really scary or as disturbing as other infinite flow novels.
I’m very much enjoying this series so far. Xu RenDong and Lian Qiao’s dynamic is very entertaining, and they just click and understand each other on a fundamental level that makes them inexplicably connected. Of course, helping each other through life and death situations helps.
Lian Qiao is a very interesting character in that even when he is terrified, he is still comical with his hiccuping. Also, even when he’s scared, he still acts to protect Xu RenDong and vice versa.
I’m curious about Xu RenDong’s ability and how Lian Qiao seems to remember things that Xu RenDong told him in past timelines even when he shouldn’t be able to. I’m excited to see how it’s all explained.
