Monster hunter and mechanic Mark Wojcik has his hands full protecting innocent monsters from horrible people and innocent people from horrible monsters.
His corner of rural Pennsylvania used to be relatively quiet-except for the ghosts, trolls, gnomes, and snallygasters. Then the Mob wars between the vampires and werewolves spilled over from the big city, along with supernatural bounty hunters, necromancer narcos, a monster trafficking ring, paranormal bookies, warring secret government agencies, and wicked witches.
To rein in the chaos, Mark will need to call on all his resources - Father Leo, Donny the Werewolf, the Scooby Gang of supernaturally-talented young adults he mentors, and other friends with the kind of special talents to handle things that go bump in the night. They're making it up as they go, breaking all the rules, and kicking monster butt.
Spells, Salt, and Steel Season 2 is a high-energy, horror-comedy action-packed adventure filled with creepy cryptids, spooky magic, supernatural secrets, paranormal plots, found family, loyal friends, haunted houses, helpful ghosts, sneaky secret agents, and lots of explosions!

Spells, Salt, & Steel, Season 2 by Gail and Larry Martin This continued from Season 1, the many crazy adventures of monster hunting. But sometimes, the odd crew had to hunt other hunters that were after crytids that weren't really monsters. Boy, it got crazy! Great fun stories.
The authors have added to the chronicles of Mark Wojcik and his sidejob efforts to protect his part of the world from the supernatural and the supernatural from his less-than-sympathetic contacts. I liked Mark as the authors portrayed him in Season 1’s novellas – Season 2 has expanded on his character and made him that much more relatable. As for his woes? I am now firmly convinced that this city girl needs to stay out of the backwoods of northwestern Pennsylvania, but I will keep reading to see what Mark does with the sheepsquach, the yayoo and the creepy dolls. The best part of this series is seeing Mark grow his social circle and incidentally, recruiting them into his side gig. He is not doing this alone anymore and that is good.
I received an ARC via Hidden Gems and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Mark Wojcik, Monster Hunter, is in high demand. In this set of stories, Marc faces attacks from creatures that were being controlled, monsters that seemed genetically altered, groups of Paranormal at war with each other, and a deadly attack on vulnerable psychics who needed his protection. The stories are short but interesting, entertaining, and full of humor and cynicism with Wojcik's comments that he doesn't waste a moment to make fun of anything around that catches his attention. Lots of action and suspense with scary creatures, rituals, interesting and intriguing lore, ghosts, witches, shifters, and sinister characters. I liked that the action was fast and characters from other series make an appearance contributing with their skills. I voluntarily reviewed this copy that I received for free from Hidden Gems.
I love this series! It's funny, scary, snarky, irreverent, and full of surprises. Monster hunter/mechanic Mark Wojcik and his friends and allies are taking names and kicking butts again. In addition to the usual monster troubles, now there is a turf war between werewolves and vampires. You'll find Mark in the middle of it all, whether he likes it or not. This series is engaging and entertaining, with plenty of action. I love Mark's wise-cracking and mental asides. I am ready for the next Season.

This is Season 2 of Spells, Salt & Steel, the stories about Mark Wojcik, who is a monster hunter among other things.
I enjoyed all of the stories. As usual, the authors mixed in some characters from other series. Don't worry, it is not necessary to have read all the other series. These stories tell you enough about the borrowed characters so that make sense where they are used.
I hope there will be a season there of this series.
I received a free copy of the eBook from Gail, but I'm not obligated to post a review, good, bad, or indifferent. That said, I most definitely enjoyed these 4 short stories! Mark Wojcik runs an auto repair business, but spends most of his time as a supernatural bounty hunter--taking down people and entities with nefarious intentions, and rescuing cryptids who can't fend for themselves. An action-packed, easy read; with plenty of lore, supernatural beings you'd expect, and many you wouldn't.
You are taken on a journey with a mechanic and his friends go and hunt monsters , vampires and others that are a threat to people . He has witches that give him help to go after these strange objects that are very real , but some people can't believe this can happen . He has a friend that is a guard dog at his store and what some don't know the is werewolf . The did a good job with the book.
I am voluntarily leaving a review after receiving a free copy. A very nice collection as Mark makes new friends and deals with monsters with his allies. There is lots of action. I like how Mark moves non dangerous cryptics to the sanctuary.
I really enjoyed this book. Love short stories like this. The doll had me creeped out. Mark is a cool character and I enjoy reading his hunts. I, also, love how it's called season 2, not volume or book 2. Hoping there is a season 3.
I listened to the audiobook and the narrator did a good job. I enjoyed these short stories/novellas and I like the character crossover between other books/series.
Great book with several short stories. Great husband and wife authors collaborated to write this book, Gail being my favorite which also write under Morgan Brice. Can’t brag enough about her. And before you buy the book, make sure you haven’t bought the books individually as you would be buying them twice like I did before realizing it. I hope I can save others money.
I love Mark Wojcik, his sense of humor and amazing adventures. I'm really glad that in this collection we see Mark working with characters from other stories by the same author. I'm in love! It's definitely best series ever <3
