My main issue was the flow. Some things were neither adequately explained nor developed and the storyline was rushed.

I really like this one. It was different from her other books. I fell in love with this family, and I can't wait to read the next brothers book.

Imagine my squeals of joy when I found out one of my favorite MC writers was branching out into a mafia series. Be still my little black heart. This book is hot, from the moment Gabriel and Lia meet. I loved the book signing and mentioning of tons of known authors. So much fun. This is just the first dip into this mafia world and we get to know the brothers and their bodyguards/friends. Gabriel is an intriguing character that has to always be in control, and yet has a wicked temper. Lia believes herself to be so far removed from the mafia books she reads - yet she isn’t. What a great first book in this series.

I love the book and the characters. They met because of a book signing and had a great night together, then they parted not expecting to see each other again,
Gabe and Lia seem to be made for each other, and their story intertwines more then they thought. They have connections thur her father and his half-brother.
They start to get along better when all hell breaks loose and it puts them in danger.
Together they take care of the danger and build a life together, that even though it seems idealistic it can still be dangerous and exciting.

What a Delicious start to a Mafia Series. Ms. Allen has given us a great addition to the Mayhem Makers series. She checked off all my boxes by giving us strong male and female leads, an alpha mafia boss to his core, action, suspense, thrills and hot spicy romance. I mean what else could I possibly ask for - ok throw in laughs, a woman who keeps said mafia boss on his toes and cameo appearances by the RBMC, Ankeny, IA chapter and yep, I’m in heaven.
Gabriel, a Don in the La Cosa Nostra, is in Texas with his brothers to escort their mother to a book signing, at their father’s demand. Not something he’s happy about but when he literally runs into a woman and knocks her armload of books to the ground, his day just got 100% better. Especially when she agrees to have dinner with him. Alia, is a shy book editor that has sworn off men. But one look at the guy who literally runs into her and suddenly having a 1 night fling doesn’t sound so bad. Especially since they are both heading home the next day. After all, what happens at a book signing in Texas stays in Texas right and of course neither used their real names! And what a night it was. Both have hot memories that follow them to their respective homes. Imagine her surprise a few months down the road when her one night of bliss turns out to be the mafia boss she agrees to 6 months of “service” to in order to keep her father alive. From here the story takes off as these two become entwined in romance, betrayals and deadly threats.
I highly recommend grabbing this one up and getting in at the start of the La Famiglia DeLuca Series, you won’t be sorry you did. Then hang on to your seats as the series continues, after all Gabriel has 3 younger brothers who hopefully will all have books of their own.

Beauty and the Beast is my favorite and this Mafia style retelling was wonderful. There were similarities between the movie and this story. I loved seeing them and being able to picture the movie I love so much while reading the words on the page.
These two meet at a book convention (I'll talk more on that in a minute because I loved that so much) and had no idea how entwined their lives already were.
This beauty wants to hate this beast but there's something deep between them, that she can't. They both have an intense desire for the other and we get to see how they make that work for them. There is a fear that comes with being in love in this world. Navigating that becomes a challenge, especially when the danagers that lurk around them become more prominent. These two are perfect for each other. I loved everything about this story.
The book convention portion. Oh my gosh, I loved all the author mentions. I've met a handful of these authors and read their stories as well. It made seeing their names that much more fun. These author signings are the best and so much fun.
I may have also fangirled at the fact that the name Lee was mentioned in this story as that name is important to me on a personal level.

I was so excited when I saw Kristine Allen was branching out into the Mafia world! I devoured this story in a day and loved Gabe and Alia so much! Their meet cute at the author signing was such a fun touch. I loved the behind the scenes look at what goes on at a signing as well.
This story really embraced the book world with Alia being an editor. She was such a fun character overall. She was sweet and a little spicy and very down to earth. It made her easy to relate to.
Gabe was on fire in this story. Possessive yet so adoring to Alia. He would burn the world to protect her and I wouldn't mind being his.
There were some interesting twists and I loved getting to meet all the De Luca brothers. This is what I would consider Mafia light. It was gritty in places and these guys were rough around the edges but they were sweet and had a good upbringing. I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to more from this world. I would love for the other brothers to get stories as well! I would definitely recommend Blood Lust!

Sicilian Mafioso Don Gabriel De Luca of Chicago doesn’t like book nerds … but he falls in love with one of us. Ha! Take that you sexy edible piece of man meat! Alia “Lia” Stewart is just like one of us - cue the awe - because she is an editor who goes to a book signing event with her best friend M. Merin and meets her authors both for work and those she fangirls. Are you relating yet? Totally, I can picture being Alia! And she sees Gabe and GURL the description alone makes me even salivate. Kristine whips up her magic in Mafia magic that makes the rest of us fantasize that dreams do come true for us mortals. So as Kristine cleverly writes about herself and her fellow author colleagues in this story and tosses in a Beauty and the Beast theme, I am in love with this book. As romanticized as the MC and Mafia are in these dream novels, the real men are a different story. So enjoy the heck out of these book boyfriends, as the reality is more scary and can be disappointing. I received a complimentary copy to leave an honest review.

Omg 😲 my girl Kristine Allen did her thang with her first ever mafia book! I've always wondered about Gabriel, but I never thought he would get a book. I love Alia for him. She's kind of shy just a little bit but sassy at the same time. Alia isn't afraid to stand up to Gabriel, and he loves it. This book has the perfect mixture of love, lust, a glimpse in the mafia underworld, just everything. The heat that comes off this book from this couple is mind-blowing 🤯 🥵💦. Lord, I fan myself multiple times when these two are within the vicinity of each other. Amazing 👏🏿 amazing, author Kristine Allen, you've done it again. Not only have you written amazing mc books, music series and sports books. You went and done it with the mafia genre, ladies and gents, Blood Lust is a phenomenal read you shouldn't miss out on!!

I need a mafia don like Gabriel 🔥
Love Kristine Allen's writing. Her MC books are fabulous and addicting. I was so excited when I saw she was writing a mafia series. This book was freaking awesome. I loved that the female lead was a book editor and that we got to see so many of our favorite authors in the book convention scene. Reminded me of my first time going to Wanderlust...it definitely felt like me as a reader was there with the Lia ( female lead). Gabriel was yummy and his mom was a hoot. I loved that even though he was a mafia Don he was brought up with loving parents. Can't wait for the rest of the books in this series.

I'm proud to say this is one of my favorite authors. This book is a testament to it. This well-written book is great to read in a little nook or anywhere. I am crazy about Alpha Mafiosos but Gabriel De Luca is Alpha personified!! He sudeces (Lia) at a book signing event. Their chemistry is off the charts. This is where the story takes off. There's drama, action, suspense, chemistry, and feels. Their lives become endangered by Gabriel's enemies but he is a fierce protector. Get your copy today.

So much story too little book
Wow!! I could have kept reading Gabriel and Alia's story forever. One night of hot and heavy passion in Texas and they both couldn't stop thinking of each other. One father who screws up and his daughter has to pay the price. But it can't be can it? They meet again in their home town. Apparently their lust for each other hasn't burnt out. It's a shame he doesn't think he is good for her. She tries to stay angry at him. Hot insta lust/love? doesn't work like that. Kristine does an amazing job of writing about Gabriel and Alia.

Gabriel and Alia are freakin HOT, HOT, HOT!!!! And they meet at a book signing (swoon). Alia is at the signing as PA for M. Merin and Gabe brought his mother to meet all of her favorite authors. A chance meeting at a most unlikely place starts the fantastic, intense, beautiful journey of these two. The chemistry is undeniable from the start and goes off the charts the further they go. Kristine Allen never disappoints, and Gabriel is definitely at the top of my list!

Omg!! I loved how it started out with the different authors in it and she wrote about herself the way she did. That was very unique!! There is a few unanswered questions I had about toward the end. But overall, I couldn't put it down. There's was sum twists and turns I didn't c but a few I did. But my favorite men where there 2 help Gabriel, the boys from IA, 1 of my favorite RBMC!! I sooooo can't wait 4 more asap!!!!!

I'm amazed at this story and how it just pulls you in from start to finish. A story that weaves together events and details that had me turning pages. The dynamics of family, explosive chemistry, suspense, and the action are just some things I liked about this book. An enthralling read that I couldn't put down. A must read.

What a read. This book grabbed me and would not let me go until the last page was read. It moves along at an amazing pace that is perfect for the flow of this story. It makes for an easy and enjoyable read. The characters are amazing and you cannot help but love them and the story will not disappoint. This book is a must read, no doubt about it.

Love these two! I love how Alia gets to meet authors. You don’t read to many books with that. Alia and Gabriel have a connection from the beginning. I love how he and his brother go with their mom for protection to her book signing. I loved the twist and turns in this story also. There is nothing that I didn’t like about this story. There's so much to love about this read. Adding in a bit of the book world gave it a little humor, names to connect to and just fun all around. I really enjoyed the characters, Gabriel's intensity, his pull to Alia, their chemistry is amazing! It's a great mix of heat, a little dark, and more that keep the pages turning!

Wow just wow. I picked this book up today and I could no put it down. I absolutely got drawn in and the chemistry was off the charts. I love the protectiveness that Gabriel had for Alia. I can’t wait I hope the brothers get stories to. I highly recommend this book. It builds for an awesome series

Kristine Allen is such a brilliant author. She can write a grocery list and make it so interesting. Gabriel and Lia are such fantastic characters and the heat from these two is off the charts. I am looking forward to the next book in this new series and it seems forever until April.

Alia is a PA to an author working at a signing where she meets Gabriel, whose taken his mother to meet her favourite authors. Sparks fly but not all is at it seems, Gabriel's mafia and now Alias in his world. Well written steamy beauty and the beast themes mafia romance.

Now this was one hot read!! Wow! I loved the Beauty and the Beast like story. I also really enjoyed the tie in with a book signing!! So much fun to see authors names I knew! This was a brilliant idea....I love everything about this book!! This is such a fun series!!!

I usually do not read mafia stories, but this....THIS story was well thought out and put together so well! There is the hot, steamy bits, the violent bits, the suspenseful bits...it all wraps up into a GREAT read!! DO IT! READ THIS BOOK!

What an excellent book! Gabe and Lia bring the heat and love! And of course we love our MC boys that show up also and all the whitty references included lol. Can’t wait for the next book in this series!
