Rate this book
Serious and humorous Doric fiction wi historical, political themes.

There are but Seven Stories which people ever tell, and one is of The Return. This novel describes a man coming back, after many years, to his native town for the funeral of an old friend. In the course of his journey, mediating on that shared past in its emotional and political aspects, as well as on his own family history, he strives to come to terms with the changes wrought by the passing of time. Like all travelers, he finds that return is not possible as the place departed from no longer exists.
