My enemy isn’t who I thought it was. My Alphas have groveled, begged, and fallen to their knees to beg for my forgiveness. I’m still not sure I’m ready, but I’ll need to find a way if I want to face what’s coming next. The Hunters and the packs are stuck in a stalemate while some invisible force plucks us off one-by-one. The Storms have gone out of control and destroy the forest, the leaves, and any life it touches. And when I go home, even my own family turns their backs on me. It doesn’t matter that I’ve saved my sister—I’m one of the wolves to her now. I’m an Outcast and I know what Kane has felt for the first time. I need to find a way to forgive my alphas. Because if I can’t… how can I expect my family to find a way to forgive me ?
Moon Queen is the massive conclusion to the rejected mate wolf shifter "Crescent Five" trilogy complete at 100,000 words!
USA Today Bestselling Author J.R. Thorn is a Reverse Harem Romance author. All her books are written in the same world except for co-write books, so be sure to check out the recommended reading order listed above or on the website! (She'll also admit to having an unhealthy obsession with magical tattoos and alpha males.)
WHAT DO YOU MEAN THIS SERIES WILL END WITH THE NEXT BOOK??? I was, I kid you not, reading this and thinking "this world has so much left to explore, we're going to get like 10 books" and then I'm hit with the Moon Kissed blurb where I find out there's only one book left...
I AM HEARTBROKEN. DEVASTATED. THIS IS A CRIME AGAINST ME PERSONALLY!!! I know that this is all probably planned out etc etc, but J. R. Thorn, I need you to reconsider and write more books!!! PLEASE THINK ABOUT ME, HOW WILL I SURVIVE WITH JUST FOUR BOOKS???
Sigh.
So anyway, guess who still didn't find the time to read the other series in this world? Me! It's meee! But on the plus side, Moon Queen was the best with the explanations as to what's actually going on out of all three books.
I feel like I could follow along now, even if I decided not to check out the other series, but I still think that if you haven't started this yet you should go back and read what came before.
Another review mentioned that the Hunters aren't really needed in this series and I agree. I don't like them, but that's not why. The books are pretty short and the Hunters barely get page time once or twice per book, and then they're easily defeated or...how do I word this...postponed like in this book.
I don't know if they make more sense in the context of the whole connected universe, but as is they're kinda just there, off in the background somewhere, doing Hunter things.
I'm both hoping and not that they'll get a bigger role in the final book, but I could just as easily not see it happening, based on another villain that's rising up. I feel like they could fall into the background even more, but I'll have to wait and see.
As for the romance, everything is still perfect on that front, I have no complaints. We even got someone new added who I wasn't expecting. The (inevitable) conflict that will come with that will be fun to read.
I am hoping that Moon Kissed will be longer, because while we got to know the alphas a bit better in Moon Queen, there's still so much we don't know about them. Particularly Vern and Dash.
I have to mention the recap again, it was a godsend. I reread the first book and read the second around six months ago, so it was nice to have a little refresher. Knowing me though, and how much I love this series, I'm most likely going to reread it next August before the fourth book comes out.
AND I'll do my best to *finally* read the rest of the Blood Stone Universe series so that when I reread this I can have a different perspective.
I have read almost every book the author has written. My only question with this series is it states there is a 4 th book. These were written in 2023 at least that looks to be the publishing dates. Yet there is no book 4 that I can find. I thought the series was complete, but as i was ending book 3 I see that I am wrong and there is still more that needs doing. Hopefully this will come out soon.
I’m not really sure how to feel. I find the female main character to be a bit of a masochist. She’s dying from her heat, but refuses to help herself because she wants to get to know to know them. While thousands loose their lives to the devastating storms. She leaves them among the traps laid by the hunters long ago and just “goes back to her village” with her not so dead bestie. Knowingly how they felt about her when they tried to kill her. Her own mother pushes her to use her magic to save her younger sister and when her sister tells her to stop because she’s fo far gone already, and dies in her arms. Her mother casts her out. When it was her pushing her to use foreign magic. The storyline has great promise. I just wish the female character wanted to save the world along with her mates, instead she torments herself, her mates, and everyone in the world. The hunters I feel are misplaced in this book. I feel like if hunters were never mentioned, we wouldn’t have missed them as they don’t play a huge part in the storyline. I’m on the fence on how this is playing out. Hopefully the next book is better.
Book three and this series just keeps getting better and better. Katlyn is finally coming to terms with what she is becoming, a goddess and wolf and has to find a way to forgive her mates. Fast paced, action filled, intriguing, exciting, there’s plenty of danger, darkness and drama and this had me on the edge of my seat the whole read!
I have to say that I really didn't like Dante in this one. He screwed up so bad that it allowed the calamity to come into fruition. You would think that, after what he and his mate ship went through, that he would be more rational The fact that he's hiding it from Lily means that he should have known better.
I didn't expect who calamity chose to be her champion. I'm kind of sad about that bit glad that an old friend has come to her rescue. I had a feeling that calamity was who they are. It makes me wonder why she brought Lyle now. Is he going to be an insider with her? I hope not because I really like him.
Katlyn is battling *all* kinds of forces in this book. Still getting used to being a wolf and a goddess, she now has to deal with new dangers on the horizon. Get ready for a book filled with many surprises, lots of heat, action, intrigue and a few familiar faces. Is Calamity at play here or not? This amazing FMC grabs hold of your heart and won't let go. I can't wait to see what's next!!! All in all a really fun read.
Well this book definitely had some twist and turns and a cliffhanger that was totally jaw dropping. Things are becoming a little bit more clearer but there are still a lot of things that need to be figured out. One thing is for sure Katlyn is becoming who she is meant to be but will she be able to make a difference and do it in time? I can't wait for the next and look forward to seeing how things play out.
I think this is my favorite out of her series so far. I felt the story didn't lag or be drawn out. Loved how she brought Dante and Logan In. if you read Fortune Academy series, you know, you know. So I was excited when they showed up! I can't wait till the 4th book. I read this book so slow after I found out this series wasn't finished. So Miss Thorn you need to drop everything your doing and finish this series. 😁
This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great drama and romance with wonderful world building. Can't wait to read what the author brings out next. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
I cannot get enough of this series! The fast pace keeps you going nonstop. The complexity that goes along with the entire universe this is set in is amazing. I can’t imagine all the notes it takes to keep everything straight. I can’t wait for the next installment.
Jen keeps you on the edge of darkness waiting for the petite morte. I love how the guys are all coming together but I truly hope there is a place for her protector as well in the end.
Can't wait for the next one. This book really heats up and ends on a cliffhanger. A few unexpected twists that I didn't see coming, so I can only imagine what comes next.
This did better than Book 2, it kept me reading and wanting more, I loved the character development in this book u felt like you got to know them a lot more in this which I am glad for I can no wait to read book 3
Katlyn still in heat is captured by a Hunter who tries to kill teh moon goddess without killed the human. She is rescued by the Alphas but remains in danger from burning up from her heat. Shadow an Lyle help but she needs more. A traitor that is dangerous to the world is discovered in the Outcast pack.
A hunter captures Katlyn but she is rescued by the alphas. Then hunters and humans set traps for Katlyn and the Alphas. As the fever continues she is helped by Shadow and Lyle but she needs more. A traitor is discovered who is menacing.
In this book we get a little more from Katlyn and her alphas. We get to also learn calamity is in this world now too. With Hunters wanting her dead because the believe the moon goddess is corrupted to humans believing the same and her alphas trying to earn her forgiveness this book packs some punches.
Absolutely amazing series!! This book was amazing & Absolutely kept my attention!! Anything I've read from this author has been amazing!! I recommend the series
