Quite an interesting take on what happened after Belle and Beast got their "happily ever after". While a novella, the chapters are written in a way that makes you feel it's a full-length novel. I quite enjoyed the author's prose. At first I thought it was pretty formal for fantasy, but then it hit me. It actually worked with the story setting.

Our FMC is Belle, while happily married, she misses something in her marriage. Namely, her Beast. The story is about how she deals with the loss of a part of her relationship and what she's willing to do to get it back.

The yearning was up the roof in this short story. It was well done. I don't know how I feel about the infidelity to get her Beast back. Will she ever tell him the details? How would he react if he ever found out? We don't know.

Rose was an interesting character. We didn't see much of her, but the epilogue made me curious to want to know more about her and where her journey would lead. I was honestly expecting (and hoping) for the royal couple to invite her into their bedroom at some point 😅

You know how everyone who's seen Disney's Beauty and the Beast wishes the Beast hadn't turned into a human? Yeah, you do. It turns out, Belle (now Queen and married to King, the human) misses the Beast, too, and pretty desperately so. And desperate times call for desperate magical measures. This novella is a very sexy "What happens after the happily ever after?" for Beauty and the Beast. Some interesting side characters come to play in the bedchambers as Queen works through her frustration on the way to a raunchier happily ever after with her beastly spouse.

An erotic telling of what comes after the happily ever after. Beauty is married to her king, the curse is broken, and she should be happy. Right? Except she misses her Beast and wants to find a way to bring him back. Not forever, just long enough to sate the desires she can't fulfill anymore. I loved the flashbacks to their relationship before the curse was broken and why she misses the Beast so much. The smut is titillating from beginning to end. I hope we get to see the witch again.

2.5 stars rounded up for GR.

This was a mixed bag for me. The first half of this book was fantastic. Great writing, loved the period-style prose, the story was flowing well. Loved the concept of Beauty and the Beast after the fact.

Then we got to the spice... The spice was fine, until the mage and the maid. I think, especially the maid. The part with the mage should have come with trigger warnings. This was dub-con, along with a cheating trope. There was actually a few triggers that should have been mentioned (I read this in physical).

Spicy retelling of a Disney classic, written from the male perspective.

WOW!

Wicked good monster erotica. This brings all the zest. 🥵

Simply wonderful Monsterfucking

It's not a fairytale retelling, more like a smoking hot sequel and I AM HERE FOR IT!

Looking forward to reading more of this Beautiful Beasts series.
