This book summarizes the stuff that gets passed on orally in the Shambhalla training levels. I actually believe that sometimes things really do have to come through orally and in person, but this book has been invaluable in reinforcing what I've learned in the levels and in my practice. It also does a great job of portraying the magical combination of Tibetan pagan beliefs with buddhist beliefs that merged and mingled with them historically. Good stuff.
