Landry Love #6

The Road Home

Rate this book
The ruggedly charming mechanic falls for the town’s sweet kindergarten teacher.
Sounds like a fairytale, right? Except Sadie already has a Prince Charming. And he’s a prick.

So I've been friend-zoned, resigned to watching the woman of my dreams with another man.
Until the night I discovered the secret Sadie Miller had been keeping—one that will likely get me arrested.

Without a second thought, I move her in with me.
I become her protector, friend, roommate—whatever she needs. And she definitely doesn’t need her new roommate making a move on her.
Even if I’ve loved her for years.
Even if she’s living in my house, wearing my shirts, using my shower.

I’ve hidden my feelings for this long, how hard could it be to hide them a bit longer?
Apparently… hard as hell.
___________

The Road Home is a steamy, heartfelt, swoony, friends-to-roommates-to-lovers standalone small town romance in the interconnected Landry Love Series.

Author Note: This book contains scenes that refer to past domestic abuse/violence situations.

Finally we are getting Sean’s story. This is one I have been waiting on. He has always made his appearances in earlier books so I am happy he is finding love, with Sadie. These two couldn’t be more opposites attract, but I love every single second of it.

This is such an emotional rollercoaster. Amy Alves really its hitting us in the gut with all the feels. Sadie’s past is sordid and dark but she has this beautiful soul that has come out of it all.

The way Sean and Sadie’s relationship blooms from friends to roommates to lovers is just a whole other level of heartwarming and beautiful. They have so much chemistry that we get to watch flourish. Sean is just everything I anticipated he would be and more.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trope: Friends to lovers
Angst: 😱😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

The Road Home was my first book by Amy Alves and it was super cute. A sweet and angsty read with that calm and steady perfect hero you always want in real life. Sean has been in love with Sadie for years, but her jerk boyfriend has always been in the way. When it becomes apparent the boyfriend has hurt her, Sean steps up to ensure her safety and provide a place for her to feel safe. Really a cute book! A little too sweet for my reading tastes, but if that's your jam it'll be perfect ❤️.

This is the 6th book in the Landry Love series and it was the perfect ending to this series!! While this book can read as a stand alone, I recommend reading the series from the beginning with The Experiment. It just makes Sean finally getting his HEA so much more satisfying. It also makes you fall in love with all the other characters in this book once you know all of their stories!

I've loved Sean since the beginning. He's hilarious and his self confidence is adorable. There are so many great moments between him and Sadie in this book where he is just trying to make her laugh or smile. I found myself smiling throughout the book as well.

Sadie deals with some difficult issues in this book (trigger warnings for domestic abuse). I loved seeing her grow throughout the story. I love that she was able to find her happiness and realize that leaning on someone during the hard times isn't a weakness but a strength!

This series is the epitome of small town romance. The characters throughout the series are amazing and Sean and Sadie are no exception. Their love story and relationship are so adorable and endearing. And Sean is definitely a top 5 book boyfriend!

This has one of the sweetest, most "golden retriever" type book boyfriends I've ever come across. Yet his romance is delicately woven into the recovery of a domestic abuse survivor, and it creates a fragile and heartfelt story where Sean's love and devotion is needed, not overbearing. Amy Alves walked a line of making us feel the heartbreak and hopelessness of assault, without becoming a hot point trigger that's difficult to read through. It manages to generate spicy heat without losing the plot or actual romance of a friendship turning into more. I loved the looks into past couples, and their story continuations. The small town atmosphere is authentic, and I want to apply for a position with the League. This book is for those that want to disappear for a few hours with a blanket, window, and a cup of tea, emerging with the bliss of a happy ending, and feeling our villains can be vanquished.

I absolutely adored this story. It was beautiful, inspirational and swoony.

I LOVE Sadie. I love her strength. I love that she knew that she wasn’t in a good situation and took the actions to get herself out of it and protect herself. Yet, despite being put down continuously I love that she was still a bright light. Sean deserves the boyfriend of the year award. He is protective, caring, sweet, and patient when it comes to Sadie. I absolutely loved him from the very start until the very end.

Sean and Sadie’s friendship was amazing. Their chemistry is fantastic. I love that neither of them rushed into anything further with each other despite the insane amount of chemistry that was between them from the moment they met. Their relationship felt like a natural progression and was just perfect for the two of them.

On a side note, Lauren is literally my favorite person ever and I just want to be best friends with her.

This story does deal with topics and situations that may be difficult for some to read so please read the warnings before continuing with the story. I will say the way these topics were handled was done in a graceful way.

If you’re looking for a small town, friends to lovers, forced proximity romance this is one to check out.

Oops, she did it again

Sean and Sadie’s story might be my favourite, although it’s running neck and neck with The Experiment. The Road Home deals clearly, sensitively, and realistically with the topic of domestic abuse and it’s aftermath. I rooted for Sean and Sadie from page 1, and in true Alves fashion, Amy brought the HEA I was waiting for. I will miss reading this series. Bravo, Amy Alves. Job well done.

Title: The Road Home
Author: Amy Alves
Hero/Heroine: Sean & Sadie
Trope: Friends to Lovers/Forced Proximity

TW/CW: Domestic abuse, mention of learning disability

THE GOOD 😀

HOLY. FORKING. SHIRTBALLS. What a perfect ending to one of my favourite small town romance series. I’ve loved Sean since the beginning and was hoping he’d get the happy ending he so lovingly deserved, and boy did he. He and Sadie, whilst being one of the sweetest couples ever, had some serious chemistry.
Sadie has been through the wars over the last few years; having been in a relationship with someone who, as Lauren so rightly refers to him, is the biggest dickweasel ever, she found herself in a pretty scary situation. When Sean finds out, he takes it upon himself to be exactly what Sadie needs - a supportive friend and roommate.
Man, there aren’t enough flattering words or phrases I could use to describe how much I loved Sean and Sadie as a couple. Witty banter, vulnerability and some seriously intense chemistry, these pair were next level incredible. I adored how Sean was a constant source of support for Sadie, and was always aware that she had to do things on her terms and at her own pace. Sadie fought so hard against her attraction to her friend, and regularly felt that she was a burden to him. Boy, did he prove her wrong.
Witnessing Sadie regain the strength that was diminished during her relationship with Keith was pretty amazing, and I loved how the girls came together to offer their unending support. One of the common themes throughout every book in this series was the importance of strong friendships and found family, and it was prevalent throughout this story. Sadie finally accepting that people wanted to be there for her was a beautiful thing, and I loved how Sean helped her realise this.
A gorgeous, heartwarming friends to lovers story featuring the sweetest hero and heroine. Also, that gym scene? Holy hotness Batman!

THE BAD ☹️

That the series is over. The sadness is unreal.

Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy of this to read. This is my honest review.

OVERALL THOUGHTS: An incredible ending to one of the best small town series around, The Road Home was a joy from beginning to end

Amy Alves continues her Landry Love series with this tale of a sweet and protective mechanic and the lengths he goes to get the love of his life to fall for him.

From the moment he moved to Landry, Sean found the woman of his dreams. There was only one problem: Sadie Miller, the sweet kindergarten teacher had a boyfriend. For years, he resigned himself to be her secret boyfriend in waiting until the night he turns into her rescuer and roommate.

This is my first Amy Alves book and it certainly won’t be the last. The Road Home was cavity inducing sweet and spicy all rolled into one charming small town romance.

Sean is fiercely protective and sweet, an odd combination for a mechanic shop owner, but one that suited him and was perfect for Sadie who after leaving an abusive relationship is trying to find herself.

The romance between Sean and Sadie is a slow burn. They’re first and foremost friends, well at least on Sadie’s end. Sean acknowledges his infatuation right from the start. But the support they lend each other is always there which builds into a deep unconditional love.

I also enjoyed the secondary characters, The League in particular, which makes me want to go back and read the rest of the stories in the series.

The Road Home is book 6 of the Landry Love series by author Amy Alves. It is a standalone contemporary romance, told from both points of view with a happy ending. Subgenres: small town | forced proximity.

It's Sean's time! We got little snippets of Sean in the previous book and I'm so elated he got his story! This is the 6th book in the Landry Love small town series. I really enjoy this series so much, Sean and Sadie's story was really enjoyable. Sean loves love and he's also in love with Sadie. These two are opposites but also missed a chance in the past. So, keeping his distance and setting his feelings aside over the years was easier.

Sadie is stuck in an awful relationship, she's had enough of the domestic and mental abuse she endured by her boyfriend. Brave enough to show and tell people, she is on the way to a better, stronger life. Sean is the friend she needs currently, he is going to be the best roommate and show her what she really deserves. Sean is just a great guy, it’s so easy to love the guy. I love his POV and how sweet he was with Sadie. She has always known there was something so special about Sean and now she's seeing all of him with eyes wide open. These twooooo!!!! So much chemistry, so much love, so much fun friendships. The story is a little hard to read with the domestic abuse situation, it does have such a sweet happily ever after.

I say the same thing every time I read the newest Landry Love novel, and I'm gonna say it again.
This is my new favourite!
I absolutely adored this story, and Sean is just the stuff of most women's dreams!
Even though this book had me laughing plenty, it also dealt with some serious issues too, and I had a couple of tears a time or two for Sadie as well.
This story is so bittersweet for me, because its another fantastic addition to the collection from a town and characters I've totally fallen in love with... but it's also the last in the Landry Love series and I won't lie, I am GUTTED our time in Landry is over 😭😭😭.
I can honestly say this is my favourite book series. Period. I have been completely immersed in the world Amy created every time I've read one of these books. I feel like I know the people, and have been to the places. I've felt every emotion in every book, and Sean & Sadie's story has been the perfect ending to an absolutely fantastic series.
Thank you Amy. For creating this amazing world full of these amazing characters, and giving me the escape I've so desperately needed at times.
Looking forward to the next adventure to begin ❤️❤️❤️

I freaking LOVE this book so much!
I got this book as an ARC and I seriously could not put it down at all.
Sadie gets out of a very abusive relationship and is trying to piece her self back together and get used to someone caring about her without any ulterior motives and starts goes to live it Sean.
Sean has loved Sadie pretty much the first time he laid eyes on her and would love nothing more than to spend the rest of his life with her but since he found out about Keith and his abusive ways he has distanced himself so she can heal properly.
Sean is very swoon worthy and has been added to the number one spot on my book boyfriends list.
Anyway, This story was so cute and had more to it than boy meets girl and boy falls for girl.
I read the book pretty fast and could not put it down. I will also be adding this book to my Amazon wishlist when it comes out so I can have a physical copy to put with the rest of my books.
Amy Alves has won me over and I cannot wait to read other books from her! Thank you for the ARC and for writing such an awesome story!

I want a Sean, you’ll want a Sean, every woman deserves and needs a Sean…be prepared to fall in love with your next book boyfriend!

This story has everything from angst to laugh out loud fun, plus sweet friendship and romance to steamy hot love. I was totally captivated by Sean and Sadie’s journey to their happily ever after. You can’t help become just as invested in these two as the residents of Landry are.

This book was definitely my favourite of the series!

This was the definition of small town romance.

The way the town looked after each other (THE LEAGUE!) reminded me so much of my own tiny little town. Amy captured the essence of what prairie small town living truly is.

Sadie and her growth through this book was simply perfection. The way she handled her issues, the set backs, the pushing people away made everything just a little more real in the story.

And Sean… what can I say about Sean…? He was so relatable and so sweet and gooey and I just wanted to snuggled next to him on a couch the whole book.

If you need something sweet, with some dark overtones, don’t overlook this book!

Sean Wentholt has been in love with Sadie Miller for years, but since she’s in a relationship, he’s loved her from afar. Sean does his best to be a good friend to Sadie, even though he secretly wants more. But when Sadie’s relationship becomes abusive, he can’t help but swoop in and save her. Now, they’re living in the same house, and while all Sean wants to do is make her his… she needs him to be her friend more.

Oh my gosh, wow!!!! This last book in the Landry Love series was absolute perfection!!! I loved watching Sean and Sadie’s relationship grow and change over the course of the novel. And as always, I loved the small town drama of it all. I also liked seeing appearances from past couples from the previous books in this one. I’m so saddened that the Landry Love series is over, and I know I will reread again and again!!!

Sadie. She’s such a sweetheart, and I love the fact that despite all the horrible things she went through with her ex, she never lost her light. I admire her kind heart and quick wit. Sean. Holy cow, can I keep him?!?!? Sean is an absolute dream. I love how protective he is of Sadie and how he always puts her needs first. All in all, I completely recommend both this book and the Landry Love series!!!

The Road Home is the 6th book in the Landry series. It can definitely be read as a standalone. The amount of emotions I felt reading this book I couldn’t put into words. Amy created an amazing strong and tough character with Sadie. When it comes to Sean he is the man we all want, protective, sweet and no BS taking guy. He is humble and honorable and attentive to his woman's needs. This is just a glimpse of the road we take with these two. They easily became my favorite book couples. They were just too sweet together. This was a story line that I adored and can say that Amy truly did amazing with it. I cant wait to read more books by Amy. She has become one of those authors I can just pick up and read now.

WOW! I wasn't sure what to expect from The Road Home, as this ARC was the first time I have read anything by Amy Alves. She does not disappoint in any way! I feel like Sean was the perfect mix of puppy love/golden retriever energy while maintaining a "touch her and you die" vibe towards a certain somebody. I can appreciate the unobstructed view of a relationship involving DV, and I think the mental insight given through Sadie's POV was done very well. Even without reading the other books in this series, I wasn't left with a bunch of plot holes or anything like that, but I can see where the other stories would have tied in nicely. The first half of the book is very plot-heavy, but that is offset with the last half of the book being more spice-centered (there's still important plot here, it just gets a little steamier). Adored this and will absolutely be adding the rest of this series to my TBR.

The Road Home, book 6 in the Landry Love series, is a fitting title because it’s about being able to be your true self, having someone love you unconditionally, and helping you find your way. Sean Wentholt is the kind of hero you dream about. He’s humble and honorable, strong and stoic, and so in tune to your every need. He gives you space while never really leaving–it’s in his DNA to protect you and know you are safe. Your needs come first, and you feel surrounded by love and comfort in his arms.

Sean is the super sexy business owner of a big-equipment mechanic shop, and has been longing for Sadie Miller, a kindergarten teacher by day and yoga teacher by night. She’s in a toxic relationship and off-limits as his moral code would never allow him to cross those boundaries, but every time he is near her, he can’t help but feel drawn to her. He’s a friend to all, but doesn’t have anyone special in his life, as no one compares to Sadie.

Sean is also witty and charming, and even though she thinks he’s just a big flirt with everyone, the truth is, all his sweet talk is just for her. She is hiding a secret which comes to the surface thanks to his persistence and the encouragement and support of their group of friends. Their relationship remains platonic and slow burn for quite awhile, but when they open up to one another, it’s so worth it. The Road Home does contain domestic violence so if you have triggers, please beware, but know the author does a wonderful job in Sadie’s self-reflection, growth, and recovery from such a horrific trauma.

Sean is there for her every step of the way helping her heal mentally and physically. She feels cherished in his arms, yet wants to stand on her own two feet, and the author very realistically and sensitively portrays her inner-torment and struggles. You need to be standing on your own two feet before ever really being able to give your self to another, and Sean is so very patient and loving. He cherishes her and is a true hero in my eyes, especially when he goes all alpha on her ex.

Sean comes from a big loving family, and it really moved me how they embraced Sadie from the start. Sean had unresolved issues with his father, and this relationship was important for his own inner peace and healing. Forgiveness is a beautiful thing. Life is too short to harbor resentments and live in the past, and this book has all the feels. It’s more serious, emotional, and angsty than the others in this series which were more rom-coms in my opinion, but is filled with love, hope, healing and of course, sexy times.

If you love small town romances, you will enjoy all of the interconnected secondary characters and especially, “The League,” a group of interfering townsfolk who like to play matchmaker. There is a “Friends and Family Tree” in the beginning of the book, so you can easily read this as a standalone figure out who is who. I read them all and highly recommend.

One of the things I adore about this series—and Alves's writing—is that it truly is an interconnected series. Once we meet a character they're sure to pop up throughout the series. It's like seeing an old friend that you wondered how they're doing. Alves has built this adorable town that looks out for, takes care of, and protects its own. This story is no exception. I'm not going to recap the entire story because that's what the blurb is for. But, this is a story about healing, inner strength, and friends that have become family. A story about a woman picking up the pieces of what she sees as a broken life and trying to fit it all back together (haven't we all been there once?). What this story is not, is it's not a story about a white knight saving the day. Rather, a friend coming alongside another friend to be that safe space to allow for the healing process to begin. And it's in that friendship that attractions ignite, feelings bloom, and chemistry takes over. Alves managed to touch on a serious topic while bringing mirth to the story, a combination that will keep you saying "just one more chapter!"
This is the last book in the Landry Love series and Alves has rounded out this steamy small-town romance series with nothing short of what we've come to love from her. Throughout the series we see glimpses of Sean and Sadie here and there. We're introduced to the adorable mechanic that flirts like it's a sixth sense and the sweet but subdued kindergarten teacher that we wish we knew just a little more about. And if you read the last book (The Surprise Seduction) Alves does what she does so well and wove the beginning of Sean and Sadie's story in Garrett and Aria's book. I don't know how Alves does it. She created this town, these characters, these stories, and brings it all together in a way that makes you laugh, cry, and swoon—sometimes all on the same page. Maybe she got a hold of some unicorn blood, or she made a deal with the swoony small-town romance gods. I'm just kidding, this can only be chalked up to the talent and hard work of a writer that loves creating these stories for us to get lost in. I can't wait to see what she has up her sleeve for the next series!

Going into this book, I had my own prejudice on small town stories, but Amy Alves completely changed my views. This story was the best one I read in a while.

If you feel that most small town, tight-knit communities, soulmates love stories are boring and repetitive, this is the book that will blow your mind away. (Did I mention it's a one-day read? That's a plus in my books!)

The story starts off with Sean who is a big jock with the heart of a teddy bear (way to go, breaking down stereotypes!) who is enamoured with his yoga instructor, Sadie (the one he wasn't supposed to meet, yet due to some dumb luck or not…, meets). Sadie unfortunately already has a special someone (in this case, he is far from special), so they keep it Platonic until she finally gets sick of her abusive boyfriend.
Fast-forward three years later, she is broken and heartbroken, waiting for her moment to shine and get away from her boyfriend. The way Alves portrays the psychological remnants of the abuse is so interesting and new. It really isn't your run-of-the-mill rom com where everything miraculously solves itself. Sadie works to become a stronger version of the woman she was. It is so unique to see that empowerment in a book like this, it's ingenious. I also love how supportive Sean is, and yet he isn't portrayed as a knight in shining armour, and falling in love has nothing to do with him wanting to save her, which often happens.

I'd also like to mention that while all that is happening, Sadie also presses charges against her ex which is so refreshing (I won't spoil the ending, but it is bittersweet, and very realistic). I would also say that the realism of this novel really captivated me. It is a binge-readable book, but the realistic ending was amazing. I thought it would be an over-the-top ending with the town celebrating as if they were the main characters, but everyone got what they needed.

All this to say that if you're looking for an interesting read in the romantic genre, this is the book for you.

The Road Home will have your emotions riding a rollercoaster of heartbreak and love but you will not want to get off but ride it again. Amy gives us Sean and Sadie, two people that are complete opposites, but sometimes that could be a good thing. They have this attraction that starts off as friends but soon turns into something that has sparks flying. Their story is beautifully written and one that is hard to put down.

Sadie thought she was living the life but when the demon comes to life in her boyfriend, she needs rescuing and Sean is the one that wants to help her. He has had feelings for her for years but she had a boyfriend so he had to admire her from afar. When Sadie's world comes crashing down around her Sean is there to help her pick up the pieces. Can she let him into her life and help her? Will she keep her heart guarded? When she moves in with Sean her feelings for him get stronger and maybe she can let him in?

Sean has had to watch Sadie live her life without him. He makes sure that she knows that she will always have a friend in him and that she can lean on him. When he finds her in a situation that is not safe, he tells her that she can move in with him. The only problem is that he needs to be the friend and help her and not the man that wants a relationship with her. He does everything that he can to keep her safe and happy. When Sadie finally sees him for the man that loves her, well things get heated.

The banter between the two of them is what gets their relationship from friends to roommates to lovers. They spend time communicating and bantering back and forth that they learn so much about one another. Sean is everyone's book-boyfriend because he is sweet, caring and puts Sadie first. I loved that Sadie knew she needed to make a change and did all she could but it was too late.

I highly recommend reading The Road Home and you will fall in love with Sean and Sadie. Amy's writing will grab your attention right from the start, maybe have your stomach in knots and then have you smiling with the HEA.

"The Road Home" was a delightful friends-to-lovers romance that featured endearing characters and a compelling plot. Main characters Sean and Sadie were a fantastic couple, and the evolution of their relationship from friends to lovers was perfectly paced. Sweet and flirty yet protective Sean was an absolutely perfect book boyfriend; I adored his efforts to make Sadie laugh as well as everything he did to help her through the tough situation in which she found herself after leaving her abusive ex-boyfriend. As for Sadie, it was almost frightening how relatable she was. Part of me has always wondered how apparently smart women end up in long-term domestic violence situations, and especially why they stay, but based on Sadie's experiences, it wasn't difficult to see how something similar could happen to any number of people I know. I couldn't help but admire Sadie's strength and resilience after everything she'd been through.

I haven't read the previous books of this series yet, but I will be fixing that ASAP because I really enjoyed the found family aspect of Sean and Sadie's story. The small, close-knit town of Landry seemed like a magical place filled with fun and quirky characters, and I can't wait to read more of their stories. I particularly loved the cameo appearances from Sean and Sadie's friend Lauren, who was hilarious when she let her crazy come out to play.

Overall, I very much enjoyed and would recommend "The Road Home" for all contemporary/small town romance fans. I think it's supposed to be the final book of the series, but I hope Sean's sisters Noa and Katie will get stories in the future!

Wow, what an amazing conclusion to a phenomenal series. Amy’s writing is full of fun, great banter, and truly “in the feels” moments. Amy has quickly risen to become one of my favorite authors so when I got the chance to read an early copy of this book, I was SO excited! I really feel like we would be real life best friends. LOL

I got a little nervous after reading the trigger warning for domestic abuse but have been waiting for Sean’s story for so long that I continued on regardless, and I am so glad that I did. I really feel like Amy did a spectacular job of finding the balance between the severity of DV but allowing for the fun banter and the amazing love story at the same time. She brought to light many issues and the Sadie’s growth throughout the book was honestly beautiful to read.

I’ve been waiting since Sean was introduced in Book 1 for his story. He was always the friend helping everyone else find their HEA but he hadn’t gotten his yet. I couldn’t have been more grateful for this to be dual POV because I was obsessed with Sean’s POV! And the epilogue!!!!!

Everything about this book was so incredibly amazing and I am so excited for everyone else to be able to get their hands on this! Thank you again Amy for the advanced copy! This whole series is worth reading and I definitely recommend.

I’ve had my bags packed for a move since book one in this series and again this author has delivered characters and a story that makes me wish I could head there today.

𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗜 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀- 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵.

Now- Sean is 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 he is so dreamy! Hard working, sexy as sin all around great guy. Sadie, while she feels small she is anything but- she deals with her situation amazingly and had a great group of friends who support and love her endlessly. My heart hurt for both of these characters throughout the story 𝗕𝗨𝗧 it was also so happy for them too! This story features the perfect amount of happy, sad, love, lust and friendship and I couldn’t get enough.

Apart these two are great, together they are 𝗗𝗬𝗡𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗘. I would consider this a slow burn but once it catches watch out! While this is the sixth book in the series it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone- however for the full experience I would highly recommend getting to know the other characters by starting at the beginning. They are all amazing so you can’t go wrong either way!

The road home is book 6 in the Landry Love series. Which also can be read as a standalone! (This is my first one but rest assured I will be going back to read the others!)
Book will be released May 6 2022
Cw: domestic abuse

A small town romance about A woman named Sadie learning to love and be herself again while accepting others love and help. She struggles after a toxic relationship and find herself living with a friend. Cue Sean Wentholt. The humble, funny, romantic, strong, and handsome man who just so happens to have been in love with Sadie for a long time now.

I LOVED this book so much. It was very easy to fall into the world of this small town. The first half was emotional and I felt so awful for Sadie, who by the way was such a great character! Then I was simply giddy. I was laughing OUT LOUD and smiling like an idiot for the majority of this book. Seans humor was great as well. All the other characters were just as good I especially loved Aria. I can’t not wait to read the previous books!!
Oh and some spicy scenes to 😏

*Huge thank you to Amy Alves for providing me an arc copy! I am voluntarily leaving my honest review*

This time book I want to talk about is “The Road Home” by Amy Alves

This sweet story is a friend’s to lovers’ small-town romance. Along the way, we meet Sean and Sadie a sweet yoga instructor and teacher who knocks mechanic Sean’s socks off in the waiting sense of the word. If only she knew Sean fell head over heels for her, she could have saved herself a lot of pain. But sometimes the road home gets bumpy and we have to learn the lessons along the way.

Sean is a wonderful book boyfriend who waited patiently for her and helped her overcome the worst time in her life when she faced domestic abuse in her prior relationship she was there all the way down the road.

Those two characters go through a lot and hold on to each other all the way and while you feel their pain you also have hope that there is light at the end of the road.

If I would need to choose a song for this book I would go for “I won’t let go” by Rascal Flatts.

I wish every Sadie reading this, who suffered from domestic abuse and domestic violence, that you find your Sean on the road home. I enjoyed reading this book and hope I can inspire you to read it as well.

ARC read May 2022

Ohh take me back to Landry! Love, love, loved this book. Yet another stellar story from the one and only Amy Alves. Her genius is making you take on the main characters' feelings, emotions and characters and you feel every single one of their emotions, reactions, and thoughts. I have yet to read another author who accomplishes this as much as Alves does. That's what makes her Landry series such a success. And Sadie and Sean.... oh swoon. Sadie is the sweetest person ever, someone you want to protect and laugh with. While you just want to swoon and drool over Sean... like a lot. Their story is so compelling. Sure it grapples hard subject matters, but their love is so incredible. And I just have to add that one of my favorite books in this series was the book #2, Lauren and Taylor's story. And the cameos by Lauren in this book - OMG I was dying laughing at her. She is so feisty and funny, and Taylor with her... good grief, I loved it so much! Talk about full-out entertainment! Highly recommend reading the whole series - Alves will evoke every emotion within you in this series and she'll leave you wanting so much more because you can't get enough!

The Road Home by Amy Alves is a friends to lovers forced proximity small town romance. This is the 6th and last book of the Landry Love series, but can be read as a standalone.
Sean has has had feelings for Sadie for years, but has always kept his distance from Sadie since she had a boyfriend. Until there was a domestic violence situation and Sean became Sadie’s roommate and protector.
This book is awesome. Even though this book has some heavy moments the humor and sexiness balanced it out perfectly. This book has a good amount of spice. I like the twist where Sean is the first to have feelings and he pursued Sadie respectfully without being too aggressive or creepy. Sean is great, helping Sadie heal and be there for her when she’s most vulnerable. It was good to see Sadie grow and figure out what she wanted. It was also great to see the nosey town really come in handy. I totally recommend this book. Another great book to a great series.

I was honored to receive an ARC and voluntarily leaving a review.

OMGEEEEEE!!! Holy range of emotions!! Oh. My. The feels y'all! The feels! You will experience every single one of them. Every. Single. One. The Road Home was an emotionally charged story from the very beginning and I loved the raw honesty. This story takes you on one heck of an emotional rollercoaster ride of a journey with twists and turns galore that showcase the importance of trust, standing up for yourself, the importance of honesty, but most importantly, the importance of love. Be prepared to have your heart strings pulled and even have a tear or two in your eyes. The best part of this book is that it does not hide the dark shadows of the past and it isn't going to pretend that everything is magically fixed.

The ladies group text (ch 30) and the side of the road (ch 31) had me laughing so freaking hard that I was wheezing and had tears rolling down my face! I HIGHLY recommend reading not only this book, but the entire series.

I’ll start by saying this is the first book I have read from this author so I was a bit worried with it being the 6th book in the series that I would be lost. That was not the case though. Right away I fell in love with Sean’s character. He is the charming, helpful guy that any girl would be lucky to have. I could 100% relate to everything Sadie went through with her abusive ex as I experienced the same things in a past relationship. This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster. From the moment she left him and started having feelings for Sean I was waiting for Keith to show back up and cause problems. To say my heart started racing when he cornered her in the alley and then on the street is an understatement! But Sean proved to be the knight in shining armor that I knew he was and saved her! I can’t wait to go back and read all the rest of the books in this series to get to know the rest of the characters!
