I submit to no man.

When the gods wash a handsome, broken king onto my shores, I realize the tides of my future are turning. Fares awakens and brashly demands not only my submission, but also my help in returning his stolen throne—all before breakfast.

But I am not an omega of his kind. I come from an ancient, powerful bloodline of witches. Submission is not a trait I hold in high regard. My responsibility is to my people, so I make the arrogant, overbearing warrior a deal—aid me in the solstice gifting that bolsters the town’s protective wards, and I will leave with him.

It is true that deep inside, I ache for adventure. Still, imagine my surprise when a passionate, stolen moment between us unleashes an age-old power of his people. It is a homing beacon, calling his brothers-in-arms to his side. As a pack, they have only one goal—make me submit, claim me, and take me as theirs.

Can an independent, strong-willed witch tame three hulking males, or will they steal my heart and force my submission…

Tempest is a solstice gifting themed Why Choose romance featuring a strong heroine and the three warriors who seek to claim her heart, among other things. This short holiday story is around 25K words.

I wanted so badly to love this, as it’s practically the only Winter Solstice smut I have found. Sadly, it was not meant to be. This entire book seems to just be an argument against omegaverse. Almost nothing happens except bickering about “submitting.” Except sex, but they even bicker about it during. Most disappointingly, submission is equated with weakness. If you aren’t in charge you are pathetic. There is no contribution except leading. An a/b/o culture needs to be fixed because the females are weak and useless. I mean, ouch! I am a little torn about the sex scenes because they are hot but would be hotter if we were shown more than told. The world building is great but I am not sure why I needed all that detail for a woman and three men to bicker in a cottage.

Whew…next book please. So…you know the saying that three’s a crowd…well that’s not true in this case at all *winks*…there are 4, and it’s perfect, well hot and perfect. And I need more, like nowish, because nothing is hotter than a sexy witch and her equally sexy Vikrind mates…I know right, my kindle was almost in flames.

Tempest is a witch that protects the town, when something…or someone washes up on the shore. That’s when she finds the first of her alpha Vikrind mates, and saves his life. He is quite the handful, being an alpha Viking king, but handle him she does. Once she touches his jewel and activates the jewel bond (get your mind out of the gutter🤣), which is rare and special in their culture, everything changes. This bond, calls his brothers in arms aka packmates, because she will be bonded with all of them *wags eyebrows*. These four set off to go back to Fares kingdom to find out who attempted to take his life. And that is why I need more…like now-ish.

Safe read, with 4, count them, 4 bonded mates. These 4 about caught my kindle on fire, I am sure I could literally feel heat from it…and I loved it. Great storyline that left me needing more. HEA.

Open ended ending.

While she has 3 mates, she's only fully bonded to one at the end.

The push and pull between them of whether she will submit or not I think is being set up as an eventual plot point tug of war.

I'm not such a big fan on Fares. Althar is filling out a somewhat stereotypical role. Loved Hyrokin the most.

Viking RH short story, what’s not to love?! Sassy heroine, check. 3 guys with diverse personalities and an interesting backstory, check. It had good holiday vibes without being in your face about it. It was hot, and the characters were developed. Hope to journey with them and see more of their world in a second book.

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
SPICE: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

This novella release from Anna Fury was a wonderful surprise in more ways than one.

While on a sea glass expedition, Tempest found a barely alive man facedown on the shores of her small village. Against her better judgment, she takes the Vikrind Alpha into her home and nurses him to health. It turns out the Alpha is a king betrayed and he is trying to get back to his land to avenge the treachery. Even though Tempest is a witch and no omega, King Fares insists that not only is she an omega, but she may also be his soul-bound. He proves this by tricking her into touching his jewel.

(No, an ACTUAL jewel, not the family jewels. That comes a little later.)

This sets off a jewel bond that calls to the brothers in his pack to them so they can claim Tempest together.

I certainly hope that this is only a kick-off to this fictional universe because Anna Fury certainly served a phenomenal appetizer that has this reader wanting more. I love Tempest's fierceness and how she commands three intimidating Alphas. I also adore that each Alpha has his own endearing personality and quirks. It is hard to pick a favorite, though growly and bossy Fares might have a slight lead.

This would not be an Anna Fury if it did not have creative spicy scenes, and you certainly get heaps of them even in such a short read.

If you love Vikings, this standalone novella is a must-pick.

Tempest and her alphas are spicy and delightful

I love the setting in this book, it is so vivid, I can see it all. The wolf building is excellent. I like how Tempest and Fares start off as frenemies and how they can’t ignore the tension. Fares is a Vikrind king who shows up in her village washed up at sea with no recollection of what happened to get him there
Tempest is a witch that finds out she is mated to three Vikrind warriors through an ancient ritual known as jewel bonding. No Vikrind has been jewel bound for centuries. When she touches Fares jewel it connects her to him and his brothers. (They aren’t actually related, more like best friends) Once his brothers show up to her house, all bets are off as they expect an Omega to respond by submitting and that has Tempest laughing in their faces. They have to unite forces to see who tried to kill Fares
The tension and spice are top tier and this is even mmfm ❤️‍🔥 would recommend if you like paranormal romance, why choose, Viking, and witch stories. I cannot wait to read more.

God I love the way Anna Fury write omegaverse!! Tempest bucks that system hard!

Usually the one thing that pulls me out of an OV story is my damn feminism getting annoyed at how easily an omega will submit to an alpha. I know it’s hormones, I KNOW, but it still makes my eye twitch 🙈

Tempest however doesn’t give a damn about submitting or following commands blindly. She is such a strong, powerful, badass witch and those boys had no idea what hit them! Fares especially 😂

I loved the story, the world, and the characters interactions together. The spice was mild but the banter and tension was epic. My only complaint was that I wished it was full-length! I wanted so much more time with this dynamic pack.

If you love Vikings, ⚔️, a badass woman, diverse alphas, and intrigue then this is definitely the novella for you!

a short read but a good read

I haven’t disliked anything Anna Fury has written. So when I heard about this one I knew I had to read it. Even with it being shorter she created a great world and characters. I found myself embracing the characters and curious about their stories and futures. I don’t know if this was meant to be a series but I would read a sequel if there was one.

I read this story when it was in the limited time - A Very Omegaverse Christmas.
It was written very well and I enjoyed the characters and the steam. I almost picked this book up again as the author changed the title and made no mention of a previous publication. Which is the reason for the four stars.

I recommend reading this one, even on a reread, so long as you make an informed decision!

Tempest rules!

I loved this novella. A quick and easy read full of heat and fun. Tempest is an absolute revelation, I loved her fierce and fiery femininity. She’s great, a character I could fully get behind.

I’d love more from this world it’s got heaps of potential for adventures and stories.

If you like viking romance and reverse harem stories, then you have to read this. I cannot wait for book 2 to come out. I just hope it is longer than the first.

Short, kinda sweet, and to the Heat

This multiple first person novella is a great solstice read. You'll want to experience everything these vikings have to offer. Why-choose is my way to go!

Very good!

A fantastic book with a strong female character who won’t submit unless it’s by her own terms. Three strong alphas who learn that to have their mate they must adapt and change. There’s tension and lots of spice.

This was my first foray into the omegaverse. Like polyamory, I am unsure if this is really my thing? I wasn’t too crazy about it. I was looking for Viking-esque romances and has this recommended to me! All in all, reminds me of IPB

Author: Anna Fury @annafuryauthor
Genre: why choose
Spice:🥵 yes
Series: solstice romance, part 1

Thoughts - this hit the spot!!! Wounded Viking, magic and a why choose... say less. I loved that tempest is a strong FMC and I know we don't have favourites in a RH but Hyrokin, you can not talk to me anytime 🫠 This is short, spicy and the perfect thing to read in a night. Also I loved the idea of the jewels. It was super interesting to see how they were interwoven within the storyline.

Plot - Temptest finds a wounded Viking washed on the beach. Thinking hes near the end she tries to heal him back to health and end up being the missing link in destiny.

Fabulous, but cut short

I may have missed it somewhere, but this book ended like it was only half the story. It was well written though, and I loved it.

Literally nothing happened plot wise, but I still had good time reading this. Things were kinda left open ended so I’m guessing there will be a second book.

3.5 Interesting premise and I like the strong female lead, this reads like the first book of the series, not like a standalone. If there are more in the series, I could be tempted to read them.

2.5 stars. I didn't like Fares. The story ended in a type of HFN. Personally I hope she never "submits".

HFN ending, and only fully bonded to 1/3 of her males. It's definitely a letdown for me as it's an incomplete book, and no information about it being a series or any future installments. The story was interesting enough. Spice is low. Love Hyrokin.

Really good omegaverse novella

This is quite different from other observer's books. Our omega is a powerful witch and her first alpha washes up into the beach. She treats him and things develop between them and 2 more alphas.
Tempest is a strong and independent, as well as ,powerful witch and she makes it all very clear.
Great spice.
