The book is a series of vignettes from troops that served in Iraq. It is great to hear first hand accounts of what was really happening in Iraq and once again, it is NOTHING like we were told on TV. As just one example, here is a quote from an Army Captain, who is a West Point graduate, has a masters degree in peace studies, and admits he is far from being a fan of war. Nonetheless, he notes:
"I'd really like to know what's going on in the corporate headquarters of CNN, NBC, and so forth because, when I watch evening news, the things I hear reported don't correspond with the Iraq I saw when I was there or the Iraq I know from what people returning home tell me."
