C. G. Cooper is the USA TODAY and AMAZON BESTSELLING author of the CORPS JUSTICE novels, several spinoffs and a growing number of stand-alone novels.
One of his novels, CHAIN OF COMMAND, won the 2020 James Webb Award presented by the Marine Heritage Foundation for its portrayal of the United States Marine Corps in fiction. Cooper doesn't chase awards, but this one was special.
Cooper grew up on a steady diet of Dungeons & Dragons and the travels of a Navy family.
Upon graduating from the University of Virginia with a degree in Foreign Affairs, Cooper was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps and went on to serve six years as an infantry officer. C. G. Cooper's final Marine duty station was in Nashville, Tennessee, where he fell in love with the laid-back lifestyle of Music City.
His first published novel, BACK TO WAR, came out of a desire to link back to his time in the Marine Corps. That novel, written as a side project, spawned many follow-on novels, several exciting spinoffs, and catapulted Cooper's career.
Cooper lives just south of Nashville with his wife, three children, and their German shorthaired pointer, Liberty, who's become a popular character in the Corps Justice novels.
I can safely say that this is the best of the series. A book about faith, lost and regained, is absolutely necessary in this time of moral upheaval. Now, find a way to get the “right” people to read it!
Enter Coop’s 4th Charmer about Lone Peak Ranch. Enter you with the story before you or in your hand. You’ll read it because you have to. You’ll experience the pain, sorrow, frustration, even stupidity in it, but you’ll do so because you have to. You’ll be dazzled for sure. No, no plot details here, you will put yourself in them as yourself and deal with every one as they come…the main, the twists, the turns, all because you have to. He’s got you where he wanted you…between the pages of his story about the “magic” at his ranch. You’ll feel it, you’ll recognize it and you’ll ride the wind with it all the way to the end, just because you have to. Enjoy. I surely did.
Every time I read a C. G. Cooper novel I get more anxious for the next opportunity. It is well written and keeps me hoping for longer chapters and thicker books.I would recommend this and all other books by Mr. Cooper to anyone who enjoys good mystery with unexpected twists His Lone Peak Heroes Series also contains a bit of the "Mystical" which helps make for an interesting read. I've converted both of my boys and one granddaughter- four more to go!
My favorite writer has amazed me yet again. A wonderful tale of despair and desperation from a broken man who finds the miracle and redemption that only Lone Peak can give. Will he accept? A truly glorious story fast paced, and I couldn’t stop turning pages. Cooper has touched this soul once again and given hope even when you don’t think you need it. His gift is undeniable, his talent from his heart.
As with the previous books in this series the story weaves around the different characters to its great ending. This series doesn’t need to be read in order but, once you read one of these books you will want to read the entire series.
I’m not sure what the author is releasing next but, I’ll be there to read it.
The fourth in a magical series that has joy, faith, fear and courage. The Marines all return to help each other. Leaves you with a great feeling of Brotherhood and peace. Mr. Cooper has a great style or description and making characters believeable and easy to like or despise. Great novel.
I doubt it’ll be as widely read as his other books… but, series is truly masterful. At last a series that protrays religion, God, as real, loving, and will allow evil, and pain, but seeks to help us realize our Goodness. Thanks CG, I needed this. Finding the Magic again…
Exciting short story on the restorive power of Lone Peak ranch. A former military chaplain has had a hard time recovering from an incident in afghanastan and has turned to alcohol to help with the nightmares and loss of faith. Great reading thanks
Another Lone Peak Ranch success. I don’t think this was his best as we had to keep jumping back in time to relive Pete Callahan’s earlier life and what he did in his days as an active Marine. I did enjoy the story and think Cooper is a great author. 4.7
I read this book over two evenings. It hits you right in the feels. It warms your heart and soul about the marines that serve together and their bonds that are forged with each other. To Mr. Cooper well done sir. Semper Fi
This series is a very interesting experience. It shows how faith in humanity and our fellow man can overcome a lot of hardships. The power of love and faith comes to life. Follow up stories would be great.
Did not disappoint! Everyone has their favorite. Just like the others, The Fourth was everything you would ask for. Each would stand alone, but as a series they rock!
An exceptional book born out the mettle of Marines, patience of clergymen and social workers, and the trials life delivers us. An incredibly brilliant and inspiring story.
I read all four books in this series and thoroughly enjoyed each one. The stories were uplifting and heart warming. Highly recommend the Lone Pine Heroes series
