Attacked. Manipulated. Taken. But I never expected betrayal like this.
It will take everything I have to make it back to my mates. My wolf. My caster. My demon. My dragons. The other parts of my soul.
Our bond is deepening every day, and with it, our power is growing. A power we’ll need to fight what’s ahead.
Because someone has created an army of evil. And that army has its sights set on us…
Book three in a new paranormal, why choose, reverse harem romance trilogy from Amazon Top 20 author, Tessa Hale. Fated Mates, powerful supernaturals, and an evil who is out for them all…
One of the most repetitive books I've ever read. FMC has no personality. All of the guys (besides Trace) blended together - could not differentiate them. Sex scenes were confusing. Ending battle was rushed and super not satisfying.
This was boring. I struggled through this. Nothing special at all.
I have been dying for the conclusion to this trilogy and it did not disappoint! I really loved seeing this world unfold and how Leighton was slowly uncovering her abilities. This one jumps straight into the action and I loved how fast paced everything was. Just like with the previous books, I loved her relationship with each of the guys and how it only gets strong with each book. We're also introduced to a main character for the next series, which I'm so excited for! Definitely pick this series up if you want a good why choose, paranormal romance with lots of action and damaged heroes!
3 books and Leighton still found a way to continue to be whiny. In book 1 she found out about supernaturals and that she didn’t had any powers so she couldn’t ground her mates, so she cried. Book 2 still the same. Book 3 she has powers, but what if she can’t control them? Boo-oo.
The constant martyr act of how she’s going to ruin them, how she’s selfish and yada-yada. It’s been 3 books, give it a rest, have a little faith in your relationship. Why is she even with them if she can’t trust that they’ll be together and thinks they’re all gonna die? Either accept it and move on, or don’t and move on. just shut the water gates about it. My god.
I don’t know if it’s because I’m tired or I’m dumb but what was the point of Chloe? They need a powerful anchor to bind them and to control their powers so they don’t go insane, and Leighton supposedly doesn’t have magic so it’s a problem. Then she does have magic and awakens her anchor mark but it’s still a problem. But why is Chloe the best option then? And then when Leighton can use magic, Chloe mentions something about “wait for me to awaken my magic, it’s going to be more powerful” so the bitch is an anchor with powerful magic but she didn’t awaken it yet? Why is she a better option??? Why was the assembly so focused on her??
The fact that the guys couldn’t deal with her just shows how weak they truly are. They’re the chosen ones, the most powerful of their kind and meant to rule, yet they can’t deal with a high school bully, I pity their race. One can only imagine how their rule is going to go since they couldn’t deal with her because of “politics”. Good luck.
We know Trace was with ow, but ok, incubus and shit. We guess that Declan was too since that fuck buddy appeared, but ok, he didn’t know about Leighton. But about the others? Why wasn’t this mentioned? If it wasn’t important why was Leighton virginity mentioned so often?
I really want to know if the others who knew about her had ow too and the fact that it was glazed over like it didn’t matter really irked me.
What was the point of the shadow things (forgot their name)?? we still don’t know shit about them and they weren’t even the “main villains”.
And to end this: I REALLY, REALLY hate when all the conflict of a series gets resolved in the last chapters of the ending book. It’s just seems like the author is trying to decide if he/she should milk it more or just decides “fuck it” and writes a quick chapter and yay happy ending. Looks like lazy writing. Chloe antagonized her for 3 books, Damien kidnapped her and tortured her: died in the same chapter 2 sentences in between their deaths . And boring deaths at that, like one hit kill (Damien took 2 🙄). Patrick the main villain dies the chapter after them, with like a fireball from Killian. Wow. Just wow.

She lost consciousness just about every other day. You’re telling me her anemic ass can handle FIVE supernatural men who are all the most powerful of their kind? She lost consciousness TWICE in the throes of passion alone!
Her inner turmoil boils at a consistent simmer of “I’m not good enough,” from the first book on, and you know what? By the end, I’m inclined to agree.
Enjoyed the first two books, but honestly got frustrated after the third or fourth time a chapter started with the FMC waking up from passing out/being knocked out. And it didn’t end at 3 or 4 times. Then there was every other MMC having an “I’m a monster, don’t touch me” freak out sesh for all of 2 sentences before getting over it, and then again our FMC doing a suuuuuper not annoying (read: extremely annoying) “what if?!” meltdown every chapter for the first half of the book. What if I’m too powerful, what if they take me, what if I can’t do this, what if I hurt someone, honestly I really wanted her to lose one power and it’s the power of speech.
I cannot even handle how excited I am that Destiny of Ashes is finally here and the series is OFFICIALLY COMPLETE! I am so ready for you all to see what secrets have been unraveled!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ “You’re playing with fire.” “Maybe I want to burn.”
I loved this conclusion to Leighton and her bond’s story! It’s an easy binge-read as you get pulled into the twists and turns as danger comes from all sides. There's fast-paced action, new magic abilities unlocked, and a super sweet HEA. Plus, the steam level is ramped up.
We still have a bit of angst as Leighton navigates her place with her mates and struggles to control her locked magical ability. She is bolstered by her doting mates and shows a stronger side than she had before. She still has a knack for finding herself in trouble but refuses to be the victim.
Trace really comes into his own here. He was already the dark and broody one, watching from the sidelines as Leighton’s other fated mates lavished her with love and attention. When he finally gives in to their connection, sparks fly! And it goes well beyond physical desire. Leighton shows him repeatedly that he is not the monster he always believed, and if he is a monster, she loves every monstrous part of him. We get to see his softer side.
Destiny of Ashes is much spicier than the previous two books. The bond engages in MF, MFM, and MFM+ activities. Leighton’s mates use their magical talents to provide exquisite pleasure.
I highly recommend this series. It is an excellent fated mates/magical awakening story.

Narration Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Once again, Vanessa Moyen does an excellent job bringing life into Leighton’s story. I loved her performance as Leighton and her mates. Each male has a different tone and personality, and Vanessa is the only voice I will hear in my head whenever I reread the series.
Vanessa remains one of my favorite narrators. I know it will be an entertaining performance when she is voicing a character in a book. It is always a pleasure to listen to her narrations.

★2/5! No. Absolutely not. WHAT WAS THAT ENDING? that was so pathetic i wanted to cry. so you’re telling me all that build up from the first and second book just for this one to be repetitive as fuck and the war that was apparently supposed to be the worst thing ever mhm yeah EVER literally lasted 6 pages. Six. S-I-X. wow
safe to say none of these characters are fun apart from Trace my fav and worst part is we never got any spicy time with him. CRIMINAL! yes he was involved in the group sex (all of them was) but Trace and Dash weenie never went anywhere near her coochie. I WAS SO ROBBED THE ONLY TWO TOLERABLE AND NO SMUT? i’m suing. how are you going to write a reverse harem and leave out 2 of them???
sigh i hate the girl. ESPECIALLY because every book is only her POV, so even more unbearable love that. anyone who gave this 5 i don’t trust you one bit
AND THE CAT? ITS AS IF IT NEVER LEAVES HER ROOM NOT EVEN TO GO OUTSIDE TO PISS like i know it’s just a cat but still it was just described as sitting on her tower 24/7
Rankings ig 𝟏- Trace my demon man only one with an actual personality 𝟐- Dash cute lil book nerd he lowkey did have some personality 𝟑- Ronan sad back story kinda funny 𝟒- Declan eh he’s just there 𝟓- Colt yh again he’s just whatever 𝟔- Leighton hate her so so boring
The storyline could have been good the problem was the female mc was unbearable and ruined the entire book. Literally running off to over dramatically cry over nothing every 3 paragraphs. The story didn’t need a spineless turd for a female mc, it needed someone strong.
Also the entire Connor thing i predicted from book 1.
series overall a 3.5; it was very entertaining but gave me the ick sometimes 🤭. she’s def an entertainment read for sure… but i did read this trilogy in 5 days so there’s that
Destiny of Ashes is book 3 in Tessa Hale’s Supernaturals of Castle Academy. This is a series you definitely need to read in order, as each book ends on a cliffhanger and then the next is a continuation of the main story.
“It’s you. All of you coming together, you’ve made me feel more loved than I could ever imagine.”
This series has been so much fun, a very nostalgic feel which I love! This is a paranormal, why choose romance series. This book picks up right where the 2nd book left off and jumps right into the action. Seeing the bond just continue to grow and strengthen between these characters was great! A great ending to the series!
I received an audio ALC from Forever and Always PR, all thoughts in this review are my own.
Overall this is a three star series for me. I wish that instead of being a trilogy it was just one longer book. It would have been more cohesive and suspenseful. I loved the boys and Leighton was a baddie but HOW MANY TIMES CAN ONE 17 YEAR OLD BE KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS LIKE LITERALLY EVERY 20 PAGES SHE BLACKS OUT! Orgasm —blackout. Attacked by vampires —blackout. Orgasm again —blackout. Panic attack —blackout. Like its just too much. In the end the loose threads didnt really get tied together for me in a satisfying way. The relationship was great but the rest was a little underwhelming.
"I’ll be fine. I’m good at fading into the background." "The last thing that you are is invisible." I’m doing only one review for all three books because you can’t really read them separately. The most important thing is: where has Tessa Hale been all my life? I swear she can end all book slumps, and I absolutely loved this whole series!
"I was going to be surrounded by four guys I knew almost nothing about when the only being I was used to talking to was my cat." Leighton has had a rough life since her father died and she went to live with her mom, losing touch with her childhood best friend, Colt. But it so turns out that Colt never forgot about her either, and he comes back for her, saving her from a dangerous and abusive situation. It’s her ticket into the world of private schools, money, and influence, something very unlike what she’s used to. I loved how strong she was in the face of adversity, and while I hated that she had to go through it, I also loved how she adapted.
"I may not have been there when you needed me before, but I’m here now. You’re not alone anymore." Colt lives in a house with his four best friends, Trace, Ronan, Dash, and Declan, and she instinctively knows there’s more to their life than what they’re telling her. In fact, there’s more to them in general. As with Tessa’s other series, the guys’ personalities and how different they are shine through, especially when it comes to the way they connect to Leighton. Because they all do, in a way. And when you start to know more about each of them, you realize how meant to be this whole thing was.
"It’s not a choice, Firecracker. You’re our life now. The only life we want," They’re soulmates, but that’s not enough for them to navigate everything that’s going on. Being with some of them is easy, but others push her away at every turn, making her feel less than. You’ll find out that it has nothing to do with her but with what happened to them.
"You’re the most beautiful monster I’ve ever known. I love your light and your dark. Love them just the same because they make you who you are." Watching them all heal together was pretty perfect too. As was the found family element and that feeling of finally belonging somewhere, which wasn’t only Leighton’s but all of theirs. I won’t tell you who my favorite is—yes, I always have one—but if you read the books, I think you can figure it out. Someone who says torture and cuddle are not mutually exclusive.
"You stay, and I’ll take it out on this tight little body. I’ll break you. Destroy you." "Do it." Being with each of them is pretty special. Hot. Different. Each brings something to the table, and yes, I was here for all of it: for the steamiest scenes and for the ones that brought out a more emotional side.
"Not even torture and binding could hold you." "Not even death," "You are our north star." Bullies and supernatural world things are happening in the background, and the guys are all about protecting Leighton. But she’s not as fragile as you'd think, and when you find out who she is and what you can do, you’ll realize that.
I will say that the third book was a lot more repetitive than the other two and that this could easily have been a duet, to be honest. But yes, I still loved it.
"You’re everything. To all of us. And you make us one." The best thing about this series for me is that it shows you that no matter how damaged you are (or think you are) and how bad your past is, you’re worthy of love and affection. Actually, you’re worthy, full stop.
All the writing problems with the first 2 books all compounded onto this novel. The first two books were at least a little fun and I could suspend my disbelief well enough to enjoy it. This book, however.... I struggled with it. I skim read the last 20% because after the main character had been kidnapped for what seemed like the 100th time, I just couldn't deal with it.
When the heroine is constantly being kidnapped, and characters are constantly near death, only to be immediately and miraculously healed, it lowers the stakes. The risk and danger doesn’t feel “real.” By the third book, that’s what it felt like ro me.
Ngl I forced myself through this book, it’s so repetitive and really predictable. The FMC is constantly a damsel in distress, she does some training and still managed to fail and get captured every time, people literally kept dying for her. She’s soo annoying one of her bonds talk about how he’s feeling and it’s always her retelling about how she grew up abused like we knowwwww stop trying to get all the attention back to you AGAIN, pick me vibes.
Even the sex scenes weren’t great they start and end quickly and are always when the men need calming down. Once or twice It worked well (Ronans scene) but literally everryttimeee they’re having a difficult time it ends up in sex. It just would’ve been nice to read about it being resolved in a different way.
Baldwin is probably my favourite character tbh. Liked their kids also. There was the odd part that made me laugh hence 2⭐️ and not 1.
I didn’t realise this was the last book, because at 80% the book didn’t feel like it would be wrapping up anytime soon, so I was disappointed this was the end. The sudden 10 year time gap felt jarring, and there were so many unanswered questions. A fourth book going into the group growing into their anchor powers, going into a leadership position, trying for kids etc would have been great. Wish the friendship with Sam was explored more, she really only had the instalove from the mate bond, and not much else in terms of relationships with people. I’d also expect her to take longer to work through her trauma and triggers. I want to know what happened to the cat too! Wish this was 3/4 not the end book :(

3 ⭐ I liked the first book. The second not so much and by the third I was skimming. My biggest issues were the villains. My god everyone was after the MCs, and it got tiring quickly. The whole Chloe and her minions felt really repetitive. She slut shamed the FMC and kept calling her trash. Then there's her mother. I wanted to understand why she hated the FMC so much. It didn't make sense for her father, who was all sunshine and rainbows, to stick with her evil mother. It's not possible that he didn't know how she was because her mother was always like that. Then there's the Assembly. I believe that if they had known she had magic on the second book, it would have been better.
Another solid book and finale from Tessa! This book was non stop and our group definitely deserved their happy ending by the end. They went through it but I’m so happy and proud of them.
I really liked the progress in this book. There were a few things I didn’t expect which I enjoyed. I love a good surprise twist. We also have a new character introduced that we will see in the next series and I’m so excited! I was hoping the whole time that we’d see more of them.
This was a good wrap up for Leighton and her men. This group deserves all the happiness and I enjoyed reading their story. Cannot wait to see what Tessa has in store for us next!
I read all three books in the Supernaturals of Castle Academy series in two days. They're short and fun to read, but I laughed out loud during serious moments, and actually caught myself rolling my eyes on several occasions because of how cringey some of the dialogue was.
The high school setting and drama was overdone. I don't think they made it through a single day without something bad happening while they were at school. They would leave for this or that crisis, or something terrible happened to Leighton, and then they'd leave without really worrying about the consequences. However, they always worried about getting detention for fighting or being late (the least of their problems). The mean girl bulling was laughable and not at all believable. It got old fast.
Leighton, LeeLee, passed out so many times I lost count. She was always waking up in her room with medical equipment and finding it difficult to open her eyes, yet somehow she managed to pull through once she realized she was surrounded by her "guys." That plot line felt abused. It didn't help that she repeatedly put herself in bad situations RIGHT AFTER everyone said they'd be close by and nothing would happen to her. She just conveniently found herself in danger an obnoxious amount of times.
She also said the weirdest, most random things... like wishing hemorrhoids and diarrhea on people instead of actual death threats. Her mates found it endearing, but it was obnoxious. She acted like a child and not the 17-18 year old she was supposed to be. It made the sexual aspects of the story feel weird. Don't even get me started on the mewling and milking. Ack. Their relationships and declarations of love happened way too quickly and with seemingly no effort on her part. They worshipped the ground she walked on... but why?
I also wished the author had developed a relationship between her and Sam, or the girl from the department store. Leighton was never with anyone other than Colt, Ronan, Declan, Dash, and Trace. It would have helped her character development if she'd had friends. (Trace was easily my favorite. The others tended to blend together, unfortunately.)
Additionally, explaining her magic in more detail and actually making her work to learn how to use it would have helped with believability. She was just oh-so perfect and an expert at overcoming her past. Where was the struggle? And I'm not talking about the endless panic attacks that always resulted in her mates coddling her. Leighton needed a backbone.
I enjoyed the world and the supernatural abilities. You don't see too many stories out there about incubi, and I've always found them interesting. The combination of casters, shifters (dragon and wolf), vampires, incubi, and demons kept things interesting. More history surrounding the individual groups would have been nice.
Overall, it was fun to read. The books themselves are short and the plot moves along fairly quickly. I wish the characters had felt older, instead they acted like 13-14 year old's playing at being adults. Even the adults acted like children. Some of their personalities gave me mental whiplash. I think fleshing out the characters would have made this story so much better than it was, and making their situation feel believable despite being fantasy. (★★⭑☆☆)
These kinds of books are obviously not to be taken very seriously, they’re entertaining and I’m never expecting them to have mindblowing writing but after 50% I was just skimming to get to the end.
This was basically the same two scenes repeating over and over again: someone getting upset and storming off over not wanting to hurt anyone, or Leighton getting into any kind of trouble and passing out. That’s literally it.
I wanted to like this book so badly. But there were so many things I found annoying. First, how does the FMC end up unconscious in basically every other chapter?!?! It’s one thing for it to happen occasionally, but it’s like the author was playing a game called How Many Times Can I Make Her Pass Out In A Single Book. Which is a stupid game.
I also thought Chloe’s character was obnoxious, and just played like a broken record in every single scene. She’s like a toddler throwing a tantrum…but it’s the same tantrum, over and over and over, and her character is completely one-dimensional. Actually many of the characters feel one-dimensional.
The book is short, but it makes the plot feel rushed and doesn’t allow for proper character development. The ending felt extremely rushed and cliche, too.
i couldn't even bring myself to finish this book. It got so repetitive, down to the sentences.
she's whining all the. fucking. time. even after 3 books, she doesn't have an ounce of confidence.
the relationship with the guys felt shallow and rushed, even with the fated mates elements. trace was the only one with a hint of personality, and even so it was exaggerated, like the author was trying so hard to create a "different and bloodthirsty and unhinged character", that suddenly that was all he became.
there's no reason to write a 3 book series if you're going to drag the plot like this.
Enjoyed the first two books, but by the third book you have to wonder how a girl with 5 boyfriends continues to be kidnapped so much. Predictable ending, repetitive plot points.
