This is another wonderful book in the Summit Valley Christmas series. Jace and his brother own a ski resort in Summit Valley. After having an unsuccessful marriage when he was younger, he has been unable to date. When a young woman appears in the resort seeming to be at the mercy of her boss, he has to help. Ayla has won a ski trip through her job but her boss thinks he has the right to manipulate her into a weekend fling. She will have none of that. After her husband died she learned he had used her and left her with mountains of debt. Older and wiser, she determines to live her life working to take care for her family. Ayla didn’t count on meeting Jace and falling for a real life hero. However danger lurks nearby when her boss’ misdeeds are revealed. Will they make it to the end of this weekend alive?
I think the saddest thing about having someone break your trust in them is that it undermines your faith in your own judgement. Which is exactly the position Ayla and Jace are in when they meet. They both distrust the instant attraction between them, but despite best intentions, they are irresistibly drawn to the other. I loved the way Jace used the events of Ayla's weekend vacation to get to know her better, and did it respectfully. They also both upheld their values and morals without compromise or apology, and honored their promises and commitments to themselves and those around them. I always love it when characters from earlier series pop in for a cameo in the current book, and meeting the Delta family makes me really want to check that series out as well
I purchased a copy of this story and voluntarily chose to share my review.
Jace Jardine is the resort owner in Summit Valley with his younger brother Ammon. His wife of one week left him to pursue other men and after divorcing her after 17 weeks, he decided never to trust another woman ever. When Ayla Thurston walks into his resort, he is instantly attracted to her and feels that she too has had a bad relationship which destroyed her trust in men. When her pushy boss Bryan tries to force her into sharing a two bedroom suite with him, Jace steps in to protect her. This sweet Christmas romance has great suspense to go along with the magnetic draw between Jace and Ayla. I can't wait to read Ammon's story.
Jace and his younger brother Ammon own and run a ski resort. When a young woman Ayla comes to the resort, he comes to her aid when her boss makes her uncomfortable. Jace was only married briefly when he was younger and promised he wouldn't date again when things didn't go as planned with his ex wife. Ayla is weary of men due to her former husband Tim's broken promises and gambling which lead to debts. Her boss also has issues of his own and tries to involve Ayla to help him with his gambling problem. This story has suspense, romance, and great characters.
Cami Checketts did a great job. Jace Jardine is a ski instructor. He was meetings guests when he saw a beautiful woman come into the court. As he was going to meet her a child wanked in front of her and she screamed. He jumped over the child and ran into her, and both hit the ground with him on top and her above him. Her boss was right there not liking it. Great romance! Jeanette Stracner
Ayla literally fell into Jace’s life. Now, how can he keep her? When you read a Cami Checketts’s story, you are guaranteed a very fun and wild ride. This book is an unexpected adventure that will keep you wondering until the last pages. Grab a copy and take a vacation to a ski resort without leaving home or getting cold.
I am enjoying this Summit Valley series and the tie into the Hawk and Delta families. The only problem with starting a new Cami Checketts series is waiting for the next book. She manages to draw me into all her stories and get me invested in the families. She brings romance, faith, danger and always a few surprises. Fingers are once again tapping waiting for Book 3.
Another great book by Cami. Her books are the greatest as they are hard to put down and leave for any length of time. They must be read and finished all at once. Thank you Cami for another great love story. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
A fun romantic story that includes a bit of danger and intrigue. A great read for sitting by the fire with a mug of hot chocolate and immersing yourself in a story while the world fades away for a few hours.
Jace meets a beautiful woman at his resort. The feelings he is having for this woman is so rare for him. Years have gone by since he felt this way. There is excitement, suspense and romance that keeps you interested. Very enjoyable.
This book has all the elements! A great cast, including some from a previous series, a meet cute, a warm, wonderful setting, a little suspense and a sweet, clean writing style! I couldn't put it down.
Jace was overwhelmed when he wound up with Ayla, the most beautiful woman he'd ever laid eyes on, in his arms. Then an angry guy was yelling at her. You'll enjoy reading the difficulties that arise from this thrilling story.
Wow! This is one of those books I just want to keep reading forever. It starts out excellent and gets better all the way through. I definitely recommend it!
