USA TODAY & Amazon 2-million copy bestselling author BLAKE BANNER is back with a brand new gripping thriller series! It was a simple kill. It should have been a simple kill Jan van Hoek was a mercenary and a very bad man. He had organized the massacre of three villages in the Republic of Cabinda-Itumba, on the west coast of Africa, and had received a medal from President Cosmo Manuel for his bravery in participating personally in the massacres. Over three-thousand people had died, men, women, children. Now he was in New York. For Harry Bauer it was a simple kill. He had the intel. He was home, alone. Turn up, execute the job, go home leaving the world a slightly better place. But somebody hadn’t done their homework, and when Harry turned up, Jan was with a woman, a woman who picked up her purse and walked away, having seen Harry’s face; a woman who turned out to be Jan’s daughter, who turned out to work for Afro-American Petrochemicals in New York. A woman who was as beautiful as she was dangerous. Maybe Harry should have remembered from the start, there is no such thing as a simple kill…

You've done it again, Blake Banner. Reading one of your books is like taking a rollercoaster ride. Looking out over the countryside as it drops below you, gripping the safety bar with terror building inside your head. Then a pause, and a sudden jolt that finds Harry Bauer (and you) rocketing into a 3 story drop into a black hole (a tunnel) with sudden twists and turns! That's how this book begins to end and I realize that I've been holding my breath for a long time. Thanks again Blake Banner. I'm off to find the next Harry Bauer Book.
I recently delved into Blake Banner's latest work, "Simple Kill," and I must say, his unconventional writing style is oddly addictive. The narrative flow, dialogues, and overall presentation break away from the typical thriller formula, offering a unique reading experience. Despite occasional choppiness, Banner's distinctive approach keeps you hooked. "Simple Kill" embodies this distinctiveness, delivering a thrilling ride filled with action, where protagonist Harry Bauer's relentless spirit shines through, making it an exhilarating read.
Harry is a loose cannon, when he wants to be and this time around he manages to both do his usual thing and keep the Brigadier and Colonel happy No explosions he says, if only It's nicely written, well laid out and keeps up the excitement pretty much from beginning to end. You can't ask for much more than that A couple aspects where I thought "yeah right" but overall believable'ish, without the usual 1000s of rounds flying around and the hero escaping unscathed
I really enjoyed this one in the ongoing Harry Bauer Series! There was enough twists and turns to keep the plot interesting, yet not so complicated you wanted to stop reading! I loved the description of the under five foot President with the huge feet, hands, and ears. For someone that small, he was feared and had power over his people. However, in the end he was just as mortal as anyone and evil to boot! He got what he had coming…
Excellent series!! Harry Bauer is so good at taking out the trash all over the world! He's excellent at what he does. He means business but can be quite funny. Terrific series and couldn't put it down till finished. Looking forward to more from Harry Bauer!!
Harry completes his assignments swiftly and creatively. Regardless of their employers or loyalties, really bad people get dead if Harry gets the assignment. Glad to read that Harry and the Colonel resolve some of their workplace and personal tensions. As usual, the story ends abruptly.
I was looking for something exciting to read, I happened on book one, loved harry Bauer immediately, couldn't stop reading I went through the first 13 books one after another, I just finished simple kill book 14! Waiting patiently for book 15! I would recommend these books to anyone who loves this genre! Keep them coming mr. Banner!!
I liked the comedic moments intertwined with the seriousness of the mission Harry was trying to maneuver through. The colonel finally admitted she had no prior experience in such a situation. The Brigadier was reminiscent of Charlie in Charlies Angels. Kinda of an all knowing voice of reason.
The entire Harry Bauer series by Blake Banner is worthy of a five star rating and Simple Kill is no exception. The character interaction and plot are both top shelf!
Once again Blake Banner comes to the rescue when I was bored with all the other books I've tried to enjoy. Almost every book I have read of his had fit the bill for me perfectly !!!
Seriously, this is one of the best series in this crowded genre, and more than once, I've had to wait weeks for the next installment. The characters are great, the plotlines fresh, and the action thrilling. More Harry Bauer please ?
I really enjoy the Harry Bauer books, they are always action packed and great fun to read. I have read all of the books in order and look forward to the next one. A big thank you to the author Blake Banner and please keep up the good work.
I read all 14 Harry Bauer books. I loved all, some more than others, but as a whole, good reads. This last one was my favorite as finally he and Jane will get together. The only problem now, is what to read next? Maybe I’ll start over!
Mr Bauer, This #14 was definitely an exciting novel. I am ordering #15 when I finish this review. However, leaving your readers wondering at the end is more like a TV series.
It’s always fun to follow Harry around the world, jumping from one frying pan to another without ever quite making it to the fire. Keep up the great work Blake. I’ve already ordered the next book.
I love his plots, characters, locations and of course always having the bad guys lose. Makes me happy and content...I'm a voracious reader so Blake Banner is my guy..through and through.
Well written novel and I really enjoyed the plot but some of the book bogged down in spots especially in areas where there planning the raid he repeated the plan to many times but the novel is really enjoyable
A lot of strategy in this book which is good. Also great character development. The story seemed to end upruptly. It seems unfortunate but the book reflects the greed and egomania of current dictators who care only for their own desires.
Excellent chapter of the Harry Bauer saga . He finally got everything squared away with the Colonel. The whole plot was excellent, and Harry was planning and doing his thing . 10 stars 🌟 plus!!!! Thanks, Carl Clause
Harry Bauer is always on point. If you enjoy books like The Grey Man, damn near everything by Tom Clancy, or the Mitch Rapp series, read every single book in this series.
The protagonist had a wicked sense of humor. This is a story that keeps you wondering who can be trusted. Bauer has his hands full and must constantly keep his wits about him.
I have read most all of the Harry Bauer books and enjoyed all of them. In fact I have read all the Dead Cold series. That series was my favorite! I was sad when it ended but it was a wonderful ending. I hop he will write about them in their lives.
