I listened to an audiobook by L.A. Theater Works and had difficulty following the plot. Maybe I'll try reading the book....

Pride and Prejudice by: Jane Austen was hard to understand, but is a classic romance. I read it a second time because I had seen the movie and understood it a little better. The language was still confusing though. I didn't like it any better the second time, but at least the story made sense. It is a good love story, but not appealing to me personally. I felt it had good morals and themes, but they were not interesting to me. Even though this is a classic love story I did not fall in the plot didn't hold my interest, and finally I just found it a sappy love story. I know most people are against me, but it wasn't for me.
I would recommend this mostly to adults preferably female adults. It does have a good love story and it shows how love was mostly like back then and the occasional exception of love back them. I hope you read this book and have your own opinions maybe you'll like it better. And a word of advice watch a movie as you read so you understand the book better.

I thought that this book was AMAZING!!!! I abslolutley loved it! My favorite part was when Elizabeth realized that she was in love with Mr. Darcy and was trying to figure out if he still loved her even after she turned down his proposal for marriage!!! I was a little confused at first about what happened between Mr. Wickham and Mr. Darcy but then I reread the two parts and I understand it I just don't think taht I can explain it because it was very complicated!! Anyways, this has to be one of my all time favorite books, I could barley put it down especially towards the end!!!

Sorry Katherine. I thought it started out too slow to give it a 4 or a 5. Another book that is obvious why it transcends time. My own fault-I'm not clever enough to "read into things", and some of the actions which were referred to, I did not understand. I would never let my 15 year old daughter go flirt with soldiers. This family permitted it circa 1800 then they were shocked and dismayed when at 16 she ran off with one.

This is a "good read.' Made me think about my manners a little more. Seems like these characters are so trapped by their own manners that they can't breathe. Elizabeth's mother is so stupid! Lydia is such a b*tc$h!
