An unexpected inheritance is most people's dream, but not so for Paula. She's happy and secure in Western Australia with her own business, a complete contrast to her rootless childhood, and has little interest in the minor stately home in Wiltshire of which she is apparently now the owner.
Persuaded to at least visit the property, she travels to the UK but from the journey to what awaits her at the other end, complications personal, romantic and financial abound which will test the adage that home is where the heart is.
Anna Jacobs has 87 novels published as of April 2019. She writes historical sagas and modern novels alternately, and in the past has written historical romances and fantasy novels (the latter as Shannah Jay).
She's addicted to story-telling and writes three novels a year. You can find a list of books and series on her website at www.annajacobs.com
Anna reads 3 novels a week. Happy reading, everyone.
Surprised to find a book of Anna Jacobs' I don't like. Silly scatty heroine, bored and boring. And tarty. Weird. I wonder if I'll like it by the time I have finished reading it. (Later) No still don't like it. All the characters have personality disorders.
DISAPOINTED, Having spent 50 years in lovely sunny Adelaide, you would never get me back to that rainy, windy cold place. Did we need to have half the book devoted to that.
I hadn’t realised this book was part of a trilogy, but it didn’t seem to matter that I hadn’t read the other two - this story is a stand-alone one. I enjoyed this book and the story. Yes, the inheritance of Stovell Abbey is a bit convoluted, and who is who (would have liked to have seen a family tree at the front of the book), but the house acts as the backdrop for the various romances, bringing all the characters together. As with all good romance stories, it all comes together nicely at the end.
I do not know why this should be called a "Trilogy "? These 3 books have no connection to each other
I was disappointed. I often buy "trilogies" expecting the story to continue in the numbers 2 and 3. This was deceiving. I read almost all of Anne Jacob's books and like her earlier books better.
A quick, simple read for some needed down time. I enjoyed it. An escape. Having Wiltshire in my own heritage drew me in. Made me want to visit Perth! Thank you!
Uma narrativa bem romântica e leve, envolvendo uma herança inesperada, amores à primeira vista, ciúmes desmedidos, uma boa dose de drama, e um plot twist perto do final. Eu gostei.
