Finding Safety, by authors Philip Monnin and Sheena Monnin.
After reading the first two outstanding books in the Safety Trilogy: Leaving Safety and Seeking Safety—I was eager to read this final book in the series. Finding Safety, immediately pulled me into this intense, superbly written science fiction novel.
Humanity is facing destruction as a huge asteroid hurtled towards Earth—the impact estimated to be catastrophic to all life on the planet. The world’s brightest scientists worked to get the nuke-tipped rocket into space, its planned trajectory, the heart of the asteroid. All hope vanished as the spacecraft deviated off course in the final minutes, missing its target completely.
Intelligent forces were set in motion to thwart the diabolical plans of the lemon eyed madman, who holds Earth to ransom. His goal was to enslave its population to achieve not only dominion over Earth, but also domination of the cosmos.
It was reassuring to see the same well-loved characters in this intricately woven story, of greed, treachery, loyalty, and tested friendships. Not forgetting the ingenuity and determination of the human spirit to fight back and overcome the evil tyrant.
I absolutely loved this book and couldn’t put it down, finishing it in only a few days.
