Technically written ok, the story just fell flat for me. H had no strength (it started to peak out a few times) of character. For a Duke, it appeared that he had no work to do as he had an abundance of leisure time. I hate it when author's refer to H by "Duke" (not even 'the Duke').
The h has too strong of character to the point of being immature in her steadfastness to not change. She is too stubborn about doing only what she wants and damn the consequences - not realistic, then or now.
The dramatic moments fall flat in their brief conclusions. Or they start to maybe build up and then are just abandoned by the author. And the "steamy" love scenes have no burn to them; no build-up needing release. No talk regarding her pleasure, just pumping and done. No dealing with losing her maidenhood in the park.
This story would've been a really good read if not for the heroine being so outlandish, childish and immature. She just wasn't a likeable character and too much of her behavior was just a lot over the top. I don't think shed even have the one friend with the behavior she engages in for this time period. It was just too much and then how selfish and immature she is was just beyond outlandish I couldn't develop any interest in her whatsoever. The story itself was a great premise, a duke revered by the ton falls for a lady who is despised by the ton. And the hero was very likeable despite his willingness to be treated so cruelly. Scarlett Osborne has such great tales to tell, this one just wasn't a favorite.
Get married? No way. We are conditioned by our upbringing. Ans so is Lady Anna. After the death of her parents at a tender age, she has been living with her widowed aunt who has sworn to never remarry. Does it mean that her aunt found marriage abhorrent? No, but that is what Lady Anna has erroneously been thinking. A funny story of a rather desperate courtship with a lot of misunderstandings and about-faces of the poor lover – a duke who will only marry for love – and his headstrong bride-to-be (he hopes).
Sinfully Tamed By The Duke is a sexy book about soulmates meeting and loving. Lust becomes love as Anna a free spirit teaches Derek to loosen up and be free too. Derek decides he likes a free lifestyle with Anna. They share some really sexy love scenes until she runs him off thinking he wants to tie her down. Then she realizes she wants to be tied down with Derek but gets kidnapped before she can tell him. He rescues her and they confess their love. Good book.
Derek and Anna. Now you will think this is just a stubborn lady and honorable man meeting and falling in love well wait until you read this one. Our lady is going to end up with a very big problem and if the duke does not come to rescue bad things will happen to our heroine. There were interesting twists in this tale as well as the banter between the Derek and Anna. It was a good story.
I started reading this with high hopes for a good story line. I made it through 31% and could go no further. The first few chapters should have stopped me there. For a Lady of that time period to swim in Hyde park with 4 unknown commoners is unrealistic to believe. The male lead seemed weak. Poor story line
I was sort of annoyed with Anna at first. She was just a little too independent and so hard on Derek but then when she humbles herself and you see why, my opinion changed. Loved, loved, loved the epilogue. My only complaint, is I can’t seem to access the extended epilogue in most of Ms. Osbornes stories which is really frustrating but especially with this one.
This is the story of Anna a very stubborn lady and Duke Derek who found out his heart is forever hers and they belong together They have some turns but find happiness A well written story and the characters are realistic and entertaining Good read
Derek and Anna are meant for each other, lol. They are both passionate and she unyielding to say the least. I laughed and fanned myself with these characters goings on. I enjoyed this well written story and the dynamics between them. I am voluntarily leaving my review of this ARC.
Oh my gosh this story was great. The storyline was very interesting and entertaining. It was hard to put down. The banter between Derek and Anna was perfect. The ending was perfect too.
