Sasuke is on a mission and he went to jail on purpose to get his hands on a hidden treasure, what will happen next in this mission?

The plot is decent although I don't really like Sasuke going on a 'secret mission' telling everyone his real name and all these stupid things.

Honestly, I couldn't believe I got a review copy from Edelweiss, but I did 🤚🏽

I might be biased in rating this since the original Naruto series was one of my fave growing up— manga and the anime. That being said, that doesn't mean this one doesn't have good parts and plo, which it did have those.

First things first, I just realised this has been animated already. That's why I recognised the plot, but I still enjoyed it.

I'm definitely excited for the next volume ♥️

Thank you, Edelweiss, Simon & Schuster, and Viz Media for the review copy ♥️

Story is average at best, dinosaur part was ridiculous and while drawing was quite good it was still not on Kishimoto's level. It reads as a Naruto fanfiction, that's the best way to describe it.

Esaka-sensei just gets sasusaku not only as a couple but as individuals! I couldn’t have asked for a better sasusaku novel. Kimura-sensei drew them so well too, very reminiscent of Kishimoto-sensei’s style! Of course, according to interviews with Viz, Kishimoto-sensei also contributed to some key panels. I love that he’s always so involved when it comes to the Uchihas! I can’t wait to read Volume 2 when it comes out on September!

Naruto is sick and Sasuke is on a single minded mission to find his Hokage a cure. This leads him into an undercover mission inside of a prison guarded by a dragon (velociraptor) and a cure written in code via an astronomical myth. I'm also blind because despite the dinosaur on the cover, the velociraptor surprised me.

Haven't read the novel version of this, but I assume it's pretty close. But I like manga better (I can read it faster and the art is pretty) especially when this spin off looks like it should be part of the main series. Although, I regret to say I have no idea where in the main series this takes place. I'm assuming sometime after Shippuden and before Boruto because Sarada exists.

This spin off has 2 volumes.

I really enjoyed this manga I love how Kimura’s art so closely matches Kishimoto’s. The only reason I gave it four stars was because I don’t find the story extremely exciting as well as the reanimated dinosaurs feel really out of place, but honestly those are my only complaints. It’s amazing to see more skills and jutsu from Sasuke and Sakura. Sakura’s memorization in the card game as wells as her taking the lead in deciphering the ancient texts really remind us that she’s the brains of team seven. Her ability to map out the internal layout of buildings with her chakra control is a really cool power to give her that fits in with her other abilities. It was also very cool to see Sasuke use earth style, especially in such a precise way. I’m seeing a trusting, approachable, and even funny side to Sasuke that I haven’t seen since before he left the village, it’s nice to see that Shippuden didn’t completely change the Sasuke we met in the beginning.

This Manga really really paints a beautiful picture of Sasuke and Sakura’s relationship both romantically and as a team on shinobi. I like seeing how attached Sasuke is to Sakura and Sarada cause he’s suffered so much being alone it’s great to see the poor guy happy. Their teamwork on missions is so seamless, Sasuke immediately left the ancient texts to Sakura with full confidence the same way that Sakura had full confidence the Sasuke could perform a very complicated transformation jutsu. I’d love to see even more stories of their teamwork but I presume that’s unlikely since we are in the Boruto area now.

It’s been a long time since I’ve read a manga as it came out chapter by chapter, so you can tell I was really sucked in by this story.

Sasuke and Sakura remain my favorite pairing in Naruto, all the way from my teen years into adulthood. I was always super disappointed that we didn’t get to see how their relationship progressed to that of marriage and having Sarada while they were traveling lol. This doesn’t take place during that time, but it is a glimpse into their life as a married couple and two of the most powerful ninjas in the world.

And yes, the story is not written by Kishimoto, but my man approves of it and considers it canon, so it’s fucking canon. They are an awesome fucking duo and it was amazing getting to see Sasuke be the simp for once and get jealous lol. I mean, my man made her a fucking wedding ring. Like come on.

All of y’all SasuSaku haters can stay hating. They’re endgame. Deal with it.

ahhh my 12 year old self is satisfied, my first love is happily married and he and his wife are one great badass duo, can we also talk about how beautiful the ring and the lake scenes were? there's no such thing as unrequited love, there's only patience to be had. you may love someone and they may not reciprocate instantly, but, trust the process, your love echoes somewhere in the universe and it's gonna come back to you like a boomerang. and you'll be happy.

Kimura did a beautiful rendition from the light novel. The story stayed true to their characters from the OG, and we get to see Sasuke and Sakura’s relationship on a deeper level, even when apart. Sakura’s intelligence was displayed and it is refreshing to see how they dynamics work, now as a husband and wife.

Love the way the artist is able to emulate Kishimoto’s art style so well. Actually picked this up to read about Sakura since “Sakuras story” is one of the few not made into a manga.

At the end of the day I want to enjoy what I’m reading and if the plot has Jurassic Park themes to it then I’m in for the ride.

Nice read.

I'm relatively new to the world of Naruto, so a side story about characters I already like seemed to be an excellent place to start -- and I was right. This volume is adorable and intriguing, and I can't wait to read the rest!
