The Anthology, Part II picks up where The First Five Years leaves off, tracing Garth’s career and personal life from 1996-2001. It also takes an in-depth look at the stories behind the songs and recording sessions for Fresh Horses, Sevens, The Limited Series, Double Live, and Scarecrow.
I'm a huge Garth fan and I snap these Anthology books up the second they're released. In volume 2, Garth details his albums basically for the years 1996-2001 and the world tour that occurred in this timeframe. The book is a collection of interviews with Garth and his band members detailing each song on every album that was released during these years. I love hearing the "behind the scenes" stories of how songs, and then albums, come together. This is a great career retrospective and I highly recommend it to any fan of Garth Brooks.
It may look like just a coffee table book, but if every memoir was written this way, we’d get all sides of the story. Well written, great layout and amazing stories from the people that were actually living it at the same time. And of course having Garth’s personal recollection on every song is priceless. And the pictures! Phenomenal. And I can’t forget to mention that you get six CDs so you can re-listen to every song after you hear the story (or a new exclusive version) and sometimes the drama behind it. Highly recommend — fan of his or not. But if you love music in general, you’ll love this.
