@ chapter 72. Waiting for updates. This one is off to a very rocky start. I miss how everything used to be. Poor Athy (love her).
Lucas has returned (phew). His return was ALL TIME. He is new favourite character (after Athy) and I can't wait for them to fall in love. New baddie is so attractive (tall, dark, handsome version of Claude).

Season 2 ini sebenarnya baru berapa episode aja. Tapi udah bikin gregetan dan sedih tak terkira.
Di akhir season 1, Claude tertidur panjang dan jadi amnesia setelah menyelamatkan nyawa putrinya, Athanasia. Sedihnya, Claude kemudian amnesia 😭😭 Ini sebenarnya jadi kayak plot sinetron picisan, sih. Cuma di sini karena diramu dgn baik, jadi gak berasa picisan. Ingatan Claude mundur ke 9 tahun sebelumnya, ketika ia belum bertemu Athanasia yang ketika itu baru berusia 5 tahun.
Untungnya sebelum tragedi itu, Athanasia sempat meminta dia dan ayahnya dilukis. Meski Claude sempat menolak habis-habisan bahkan mengancam membunuh Athanasia, tapi bukti-buktinya jelas kalau Claude yang dulu mencintai putrinya. Bahkan seluruh kerajaan jadi saksi ketika Athanasia dan Claude menari bersama di pesta debut Athanasia. Ia sempat nggak mengenali dirinya sendiri ketika melihat wajahnya yang tampak bahagia di lukisan potret bersama putrinya.
Puncaknya ketika Athanasia dipanggil oleh Claude ke pesta ulang tahunnya hanya untuk mempermalukan dan menolak mentah-mentah putrinya itu di hadapan para bangsawan lainnya. Athanasia merasa sangat terluka karena ia kini benar-benar menyayangi Claude sebagai ayahnya.
Setelah itu, Claude berusaha membunuh Athanasia dan melihat dengan kepala sendiri buktinya bahwa dialah yang melindungi putrinya dengan sihir yang kuat supaya tak ada seorang pun melukainya. Dan kini justru dia yang ingin menghancurkan sihir itu untuk membunuh darah dagingnya sendiri. Athanasia yang sangat terluka akhirnya mengucapkan selamat tinggal pada ayahnya karena ia tidak mau mati di tangan ayahnya. Ia menghilang dan tak ada seorang pun yang tahu di mana keberadaannya.
Lalu, si Lucas masih dalam perjalanan menemukan buah ajaib untuk meningkatkan mana-nya. Aduh, kalau si Lucas nggak pergi, tragedi semacam itu gak perlu terjadi. Huhuu sedih... 😭😭😭
Ini cocok banget baca cerita kayak gini pas lagi PMS. Jadi makin menghayati perasaannya Athanasia...

Plot: Dad gets magical amnesia and reverts back to his asshole roots. His daughter runs away and starts magical practice. Nefarious empire-usurping plans are in the works, with a semi-alchemically created naive girl being an unwitting pawn in them.
1. In this volume, the story shifts focus from the primary father-daughter relationships to more expansive plot and magic building. The plot building is decent. The magic building is needlessly vague. There are still enough strong relationships to keep me interested in the story, but I was way more interested in Volume I.
2. There is some focus on Jeanette, which I like. She's a good character- I mean yes she's way more naive and doormat-y than my usual type, but these characteristics contrast nicely with her undeniably dark role in the general plot. I'm also starting to think there are two daughter-dad stories in here, and I wish the one with Jeanette and her Dad would get a bit more focus? Because ngl Ana-whatshisname's plot stuff isn't all that interesting.
3. The whole weirdass thing surrounding Claude and his memories continues to be vastly interesting. Very disappointed at the lack of Claude-Athy moments, but you know- plot reasons.
4. Izikiel and his Dad need to move away from the plot please all they do is add in unnecessary drama and pause actual plot progression with long pages of dialogue. Pass. And I do not care for this love triangle at all. This is one of those instances where one choice (Lucas) is CLEARLY more valid than the other and I'm having trouble taking Izikiel seriously.
5. The magic in this world is NOT EXPLAINED at all, which is about what I expected but it's still kindof irritating. How do I care about the stakes if I don't know what powers Athy can use to get herself out of trouble.
6. Really looking forward to Volume 3 because I really want to know what happens with Claude and Athy now. The writer threw a curveball with the amnesia plot and I want it resolved NOW because I got very invested in these two during the first volume.

This was always a five star until we started getting the point of views from like dude I don’t like the girl I don’t like and I just did not have fun during those chapters. But if I speed read through them, I didn’t have to pay attention to them, and they’re useless lives. So yay! So I’m gonna pretend they don’t exist and stick with five stars.

I cannot stop thinking about this series. It really is EVERYTHING. I even gushed to my mom about it when I went over to my parents for a visit. I'm telling you, this series is sticking with me like none other. The art style, the relationship building, the EVERYTHING. I need more like this please!

Von Band 1 der Reihe waren mein Frauchen und ich sehr angetan und konnten daher nicht widerstehen, uns die Fortsetzungen der Reihe anzuschaffen. Damit haben wir eine neue Sucht-Reihe für uns entdeckt. 😊
In erster Linie ist Athanasia, die uns so in ihren Bann zieht. Die kleine Prinzessin hat es nicht gerade leicht, versucht sie doch einfach nur zu überleben. Problem? Ihr Vater ist ihr Mörder. Wie kann man so einer Zukunft bloß entfliehen? Besonders dann, wenn auf einmal alles anders ist???
Und kommt auch noch ständig das weiße Hündchen… ähm… Lord Alpheus an und möchte seine Kinder mit ins Spiel bringen – einerseits seinen richtigen Sohn – Izekiel – und andererseits seine Ziehtochter Jeanette.
An diesem Band haben mir die Szenen mit Athanasia und ihrem Vater noch mehr gefallen. Er mag zwar sehr gefühlskalt sein, dennoch scheint ihm irgendwas an Athanasia zu faszinieren. Das finde ich einfach toll. Auch wenn er sie abzulehnen scheint, fühlt er sich zu ihr hingezogen. Ich bin sehr gespannt, wie sich die Beziehung der beiden im Laufe der Geschichte noch entwickeln wird. *hehehe*
Und dann gibt es ein paar interessante neue Charaktere, die für etwas Abwechselung sorgen – und gleichzeitig das Rätselraten für erfahrene Leser anheizen.
Einer der neu auftretenden Charaktere ist Lukas, ein geheimnisumwitterter Zauberer. Keiner weiß, woher er kam, wie alt er ist und was seine Absichten sind. Noch dazu… wie kam er in den Schlossgarten, sodass Athanasia über ihn stolpern konnte?
Dann gibt es noch dieses süße, knuffige schwarze Wesen, dass mich an ein sehr flauschiges wildes Kätzchen erinnert. Schatten ist sehr süß, aber auch hinter seiner Existenz verbirgt sich ein dunkles Geheimnis…
Dann treten noch zwei weitere interessante Charaktere auf, die in Zukunft sicherlich noch eine wichtige Rolle spielen werden: Izekiel und Jeanette. Die erste Begegnung von Izekiel und Athanasia ist dank Lukas wirklich unglaublich niedlich, wobei bei Lukas schon seine schelmische Art zum Tragen kommt. Auch Jeanette bekommt ihren ersten Auftritt.
Auch gibt es in diesem Band ein paar Zeitsprünge, sodass wir die herangewachsene Prinzessin sehen. Der Band endet mit den Vorbereitungen für ein bestimmtes Großereignis. Ich bin schon sehr gespannt, wie dies in dem folgenden Band ablaufen wird.
Die Entwicklung der Handlung ist gut strukturiert und gut nachvollziehbar aufgebaut, sodass auch die zeitlichen Sprünge in der Altersentwicklung der Protagonistin der Geschichte keinen Abbruch tun. Es ist sehr spannend. Hin und wieder gibt es interessante Rückblicke und so kann man über die mögliche Zukunft durchaus sehr divers diskutieren. Ich bin schon sehr gespannt, wie die Geschichte sich im weiteren Verlauf entwickeln wird.
Ein gelungener Fortsetzungsband, der für mich als belesener Kater Lust auf mehr macht. Das liegt nicht zuletzt daran, dass ich den Zeichenstil sehr schön finde und die recht untypische Prinzessin sowie einige Nebencharaktere sehr in mein Herz geschlossen habe.

Toller Band! Einige neue und wichtige Figuren wurden eingeführt und auch das Verhältnis zwischen Athanasia und dem Kaiser wird besser. Er hat ihr sogar Erinnerungen an ihre Mutter gezeigt, wodurch auch der Leser einen kleinen Einblick in die Vergangenheit erhaschen konnte. Außerdem haben wir zum ersten Mal Jeanette gesehen sowie auch den Sohn vom weißen Hündchen. :D Aus Lukas werde ich noch nicht ganz schlau und bin dadurch sehr gespannt, wie es weitergeht. Als nächstes wird wahrscheinlich ein sehr ausschlaggebender Moment kommen, und ich bin gespannt, ob er anders verlaufen wird als im Roman.

i absolutely loved this. athanasia was executed by her father in her previous life and now that she's back, she's trying to find a way to survive. somehow, in this life, athanasia got closer to her coldblooded father and they actually develop a father-daughter relationship. it's heartwarming to see how protective he became.
