I actually enjoyed this book, it was a quick supernatural read and I really enjoyed the FMC development throughout the book. Kept my attention and the storyline was good as well. I only gave it 3 and a half stars because there was some parts that said one thing then a few chaptets later it said something else and contradicted what was already read. It was a tad confusing.

Holy Smokes! (no pun intended) What a great book. Think Little Red Robin hood but way more badass. This is the story of Livenne who moves to Shady Oaks with her supernatural soldiers family to investigate the recent disappearances. Livenne is different. And it turns out she is in more ways than she knows. She meets bad boy Sylar. He has secrets too. His sister is one of the missing people. Livenne and him form a friendship that turns into more. Together they investigate the towns supernatural secrets while trying to keep everyone safe. Major secrets will be revealed. And I promise there will be many times your mind is going to be blow. I couldn't put this down. Just when I think I knew the story the author adds more twists. I loved every minute. Can we talk about these main characters? Livenne is the ultimate bad ass. Every female should want to be with her. She is the perfect YA role model. And Sylar is so swoon worthy. He has that bad boy but really a sweet heart thing going on. His dedication to Livenne will make your knees weak and your heart melt. Read this now! Trust me you'll thank me.

Welcome to the world of Shady Oaks. It's a small town, nothing special and everything seems perfectly fine until the disappearances. Not that the town folk would tell you they are. Everyone knows some people arent meant for small towns.

Sylar has lived in Shady Oaks a good amount of his life. Since his parents death, its just been his sister that has been his rock. When she goes missing he knows there's more and he's going to find it.
Livienne's family is unique. Her father and sister are in an elite force of supernatural soldiers. A very secretive and dangerous group. They protect humanity from all things that are supernatural. All the disappearances in Shady Oaks has brought her father back home. When Livienne and Sylar meet and find out they have common interests they work together to find his sister. This is a cute young adult read, that I highly recommend for 14 and up.

Livenne has no interest in the family business. Sylar is an outcast who is desperate to find his missing sister. Shady Oaks has its fair share of strange goings on, but not everyone realizes it.

What I liked best about this story is nothing is what it seems. You expect a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood to go on a certain path, but this one spins that on its axis and goes an entirely different way. Its got plenty of supernatural elements, some pretty unexpected, and danger galore, but its also sweet and endearing.

Welcome to Shady Oaks! A town full of secrets and creatures, but who is who and what is going on!
Livienne and her dad and sister move to this town to reunite with her sister and grandmother and help find out why there are so many people disappearing ! She never counted on meeting Sylar and falling in love ! However what she is and what he is may destroy their relationship before it even begins !
I so enjoyed this book, much more than I originally thought I would ! I am a huge fan of Stephanie Nichole and She delivered another five star read !

This was a great interpretation of little red ridinghood and the big bad wolf. Supernatural soldiers and hunters, witches be they elementals, dark blood magic witches or pure blooded, hellhounds and their magic and shifting abilities or young love, if you like paranormal reads then you’ll love this one. It full of mystery, intrigue, magic, a fight for family with lives on the line and of course young love. It pulled me in right away and had me entertained throughout the whole story. I look forward to reading more works by this previously unknown to me author Stephanie Nichole.

A great book!

A must read! I really enjoyed this take on Little Red Riding Hood. Liv moves back with her father and sister to Shady Oaks. She meets Sylar and an instant attraction forms. What secrets will be revealed in their hometown? This book has it all. Mystery, suspense and paranormal romance. This was a first for me by this author. Will definitely be reading more.

I love when fairytales are retold, and done well. I really like when you take a small town full of supernatural beings and spin tales around them, and this spin on Little Red Riding Hood is a great adventure. There’s witches, hunters of various natures, fallen angels, hellhounds, demons and more, really, who could ask for more?

Little red riding hood and the big bad wolf with a twist. This book gives you lots of excitement with all the types of characters you expect to find in this genre, plus a little more. The author then throws in some romance which is the icing on the cake. Only drawback for me was that it was a bit distracting because there were many editing mistakes.
Overall a really good read.

This book was AWESOME! It had a few of my favorites, witches, vampires, hunters and so much more.

This book had me reeled in from the first chapter! Some would think in the beginning the story moves a little slow but that’s to give the reader a look into the world that is Shady Oaks. I love getting background information, it helps me form my own conclusions about how the story will unfold.

Unfortunately, my spidey senses were off because I did NOT see all the things come to play in the end or throughout the book for that matter.

I love all things paranormal and this book had it ALL! One of my favorite things about this book is the characters names! OMG!!! Each characters name was beautifully selected and fit well with their personalities. I did go about through about 85% of the book before I figured out his name was NOT Skylar.

Livienne, I loved everything about her from her unique name all the way down to Sylars description of how he saw her. Ordinary she was not in more ways than one.

Sylar is pretty smooth. I love how he initiates the friendship between him and Livienne. From the moment they meet, they become almost inseparable. I love their relationship, starts off small but ends up a pretty big deal.

Now throw in some witches, deaths, and disappearances and you’ve got yourself a mystery. I don’t want to give the story away but trust me when I say, you will definitely wanna start this series.

Action packed, great sense of humor, wonderful characters, and hidden abilities Red in the wonderful world of Shady Oaks is the series for you!

I can never get enough of the fairy tale retellings and this one is no different. You know the story of Little Red Riding Hood with the wolf? Well this isn’t your 5 year old self’s story.

This one is new and full of goodness. Wolves are something darker and our Little Red is a bad butt gal that will be kicking some butt even if it’s not how she expected it all to work out.

Lakeyn has seen some hard times, losing her mom, not sure she wants to follow in the career path of her dad and sister. Her other sister has been living with their grandma to heal, but how well has she done so? (Read and you’ll find out that answer for sure!)

Then she meets Warrick, he’s hot, so hot (lol, you’ll see what I did there after you read) and our little Red is falling in love with a bad boy that is also trying to find his missing sister.

This is a GREAT book, you MUST read it!!!

Red is based on the story of Little Red Riding Hood. Livienne and her dad and sister move to Shady Oaks to be closer to work and to her other sister and Grandma. The town is weird, lonely and some people just disappear. Her dad is part of a group who is investigating the disappearances.

In school she meets Sylar, your typical bad boy but oh so handsome. Turns out he's a sweetheart and they can't stop their connection and falling in love.

Together they discover many thruth about each other and the pepe surrounding them.

The sorry is very good but a little slow in the beginning. I was a little confused and it took .e some time to get on the story. After that I enjoyed it a lot.

Such a good story! Lakeyn and Warrick meet, and develop a relationship completely at odds with what they are "supposed" to be. Lakeyn's family is part of a group that hunts and exterminates anyone that is different, as in not human. However, Lakeyn does not want to follow her family's footsteps, and falls for Warrick who is most definitely something other than human. Against all odds, the two go perfectly together, and work together to solve the mystery of some disappearances in the small town. Young love, paranormal mystery, and tons of intrigue and suspense to keep you captivated!

What an amazing read and a different tale of little red riding hood. I feel like I have definitely lost out and not knowing this series had been written and starting on book 3! I will definitely need to start from the beginning but I didn’t feel like I missed any details since it was a great story. Livienne and Sylar felt a cosmic connection from the first time they meet and working together to protect the community of Shady Oaks were shady disappearances kept happening. This book has it all.

I love this book! The main characters are so brave, I like how Livienne wasn´t hiding behind Sylar or didn´t need him to save her, they were fighting and solving the mystery together.
The story is really good and it´s not predictable. There were a few times were I though I knew what was coming next but was surprise with how everything turned out.
I like how this was different from other paranormal romance books I have read, there´s some new kinds of shifters I didn´t knew and some interesting new shifters enemies.
Is my first book of Paranormal from Stephanie, I had only read MC and Sports romance but I now want to read all her paranormal books cause this is a great book, the story and the characters are all really good and you just want to keep reading without stop.

3.5 stars. This was an interesting take on Little Red Riding Hood. Liv and Sylar aren't what they seem to be on the surface and there is nothing normal about Shady Oaks. It seems everyone has secrets and we get to watch them unfold. I felt there were a few characters that needed some better backgrounds but overall an enjoyable read.

What a roller coaster of a story. I love the different twists and turns that happen for Lakeyn and Warrick. From a bloodline witch to a hellhound to a hunter that hunts all Supernatural beings it's a ride. Their relationship is mesmerizing and borders a bit on the twilight side of grittier. I truly hope there are more Mystic Hollow stories to come because I feel this isn't the end

Twisted retelling

This is a really twisted retelling of Red Riding hood. Lakeyn her dad and sister relocate to Mystic Hollow because of mysterious disappearances of some locals. Lakeyn meets Warrick who is a hellhound, she has to hide this from her dad and sister because they are WASP Hunters. They hunt and unalive supernatural beings.
This story is unique in that Lakeyn starts to have dreams, that turn out to be premonitions, she has to hide who and what she is from her family due to their profession. She has no-one she can turn to to ask questions and is at a loss as to what to do next.
Warrick I felt bad for because until Lakeyn came to town he was alone since his sister had been taken. These two teenagers hit it off right away. I thought it was funny when Lakeyn told him the rumors about him being off the market now that the new girl was in town.
There are a lot of twists and turns in the story. The first was that Lakeyn didn't know she had powers. Then there's other's that you begin to suspect but don't get confirmed until almost the end of the book. That final twist was a big one too.
All in all this was a very good read. Ill be interested to see what is next in this series.

Things aren’t what they seem in Mystic Hollow with the mysterious disappearances and a town full of secrets. When Lakeyn and Warrick meet for the first time they feel a undeniable connection and attraction to each other. I adored Lakeyn and Warrick, and these two just seem to work, and fit together perfectly. An absolute fabulous read filled with magic, mystery, intrigue, suspense, twists, and love. A definite recommended read.
