A Steamy Christmas Novella Madison Christmas is my favorite time of the year … And my first White Christmas in Aspen, snowboarding with a group of my friends is set to be everything I dreamed. Except that my Christmas dream never included an embarrassing first encounter with my friend’s brother … on day one. Meeting Jarrod Richards for the first time wasn’t the kind of meet cute I’d read about in romance novels, even if he looks like my idea of the perfect book boyfriend. But then … one hot tub, Jarrod, and a bottle of whiskey later, have me rethinking my initial impression of the broody man with a permanent scowl. Jarrod From the first moment I caught sight of Madison, I was captivated, and not only because she was stunning. The fire in her eye and the sharpness of her tongue were an intriguing combination. Now, the problem is that she wants nothing to do with me. I’m a good guy—hardworking and responsible as head of the legal team in my family’s New York real estate business. Some women would even call me an eligible bachelor. Not Madison. Not even after coming to her rescue multiple times on the slopes. But I’m not giving up. I’m determined to convince Madison that I’m not the jerk she accuses me of being.
First, being originally from the northeast and having skied multiple times in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, snow does NOT melt on one’s face causing rivulets of water to run down it. NEVER, EVER. I don’t care how many snowflakes are falling and I have been in whiteouts. Secondly, the days before Christmas (like one of two) there are NOT leaves on the trees in Aspen, Colorado. Pine needles, yes; leaves, no. Does this give you any idea of the issues with this story? Don’t need to say more.
Madison is ready for her first white Christmas in Aspen. She was invited to spend the Holidays with her friends. She is ready for snowboarding, spending time in front of the fireplace and just enjoying her time off.
Jarrod is annoyed that his sister persuaded him into spending Christmas in Aspen instead of him staying in the city to work. But maybe this is just the break he needed, especially when catches sight of Madison, his sister's friend naked in the bathroom...which just happens to be his bathroom and HE CAN’T KEEP HIS EYES OFF HER. Not necessarily the greatest first impression, especially given Madison’s reaction.
Tension is palpable and it could be a long week for them. Slowly Madison starts to see another side of Jarrod and it’s dangerous for her heart.
The passion these two share is next level! And Cate does such a wonderful job of letting Madison and Jarrod explore their feelings and attraction. Bonus you get to catch up with some past characters 🙌
I am soaking up all the holiday romance and this one hit the spot. What starts off as a grumpy/sunshine dynamic soon falls into a match made in Christmas magic.
Jarrod and Madison unite at a cabin with their friends and family. The two run into one another in an unconventional way, where Jarrod gets an eye full of Madison after she exits the restroom with nothing but a towel on her head. Yep, you read that correctly! Jarrod was in the wrong room but he was changed after that encounter.
Most of the story is really about Madison and Jarrod pushing one another away, but soon they are like magnets, unable to fight this force between one another. I really enjoyed their chemistry and how easily they fell in love. This isn’t a story with silly arguments and break-ups. It’s simply a story about love and how two opposites could be exactly what the other needs.
Truly sweet story with all the holiday cheer!
5 🌟 with a side of a stunning mansion in the snow ❄️
I love this! The story is a slow burn and lights up like a bonfire until it’s smoking away. The fact that I get more from the previous books characters is a fantastic bonus. This is a sweet, sassy, hot little story with a great ending that had tiny happy tears running down my cheeks.
Madison is a very lovely lady. She’s sweet and is one of those perma-happy people. On her first meeting with Jarrod though, it wasn’t a great first impression, for Madison… Jarrod is another story. Jarrod is a grumpy workaholic. It takes a while to thaw him out but the looser he gets, the more he smiles and laughs, the more irresistible he gets. I do love him. Things seem impossible for them but the frost thaws and they burn the place down with their heat. I’m still loving Cate Lane’s work and looking forward to more in the future.
Snowbound Lovers brings us the slow burn holiday romance with Madison and Jarrod. Jarrod is a quiet, grumpy workaholic whose softer, humorous side is brought out by the joyful Madison. Madison is constantly finding herself needing to be rescued due to her clumsy nature, and Jarrod is always there for the rescue. Join Jarrod and Madison on their holiday romance and definitely give this book a read! Another bonus is we get to visit with all our favorite Lovers in the City couples again!
Cute, quick holiday read. Love that both Madison & Jarrod got a short story. Loved how Jarrod was so protective of Mads and how angry she got when they first met.
I especially loved the little moments between the hot tub and snowboarding to Christmas Eve. But I love how the group's story kept going and moving along. This was a perfect segway to the next series.
Oh man! This was good! It has that grumpy/sunshine in the beginning and then the way they come together throughout the book, was amazing!! I loved it so much
