It started with a kiss under a mistletoe at a masquerade ball … Mistletoe Grump by Ruby Emhart is the story of Emilia and Hunter. Emilia is a young, beautiful, hardworking woman whose only desire for the future is to have a permanent, well-paying job. Hunter is a handsome billionaire and CEO of one of the most successful dating apps who never wanted to be in a relationship.
The attraction was instant for both Emilia and Hunter and no one would have thought that fate would bring them together as boss and secretary and in a fake relationship.
Hunter, grumpy? Only because he is resisting Emilia’s charms!
The way they interact with each other is so refreshing! It doesn’t matter if Hunter is her boss, Emilia has no problem bringing on the snark and he likes it! Despite himself, Hunter is unable to resist Emilia’s charms and proposes a fake relationship with her in an effort to kill two birds with one stone … to solve his work-related issue, and to give in to the demands of the not-so-little guy in his pants!
All their unprotected sex honestly bothered me, but it kind of led to a predictable ending. Mistletoe Grump is a HEA story and a quick read. It took me less than a day. I had fun reading about their relationship journey. 🙂

Emilia and Hunter meet at a masked party and have an instant connection. Things heat up between them but after she goes to the bathroom he disappears. Not long after Emilia is going into her new job and Hunter is stunned when she is his new secretary. Its not long before she figures it out too. When they are stuck in a elevator together she gets mouthy with him and then asks that he doesn't fire her. So, he blackmails her into being his date to some functions. Its not long before things get blurred between them and she isn't sure if its real or not. Will they admit to how they feel for one another?
This is a great story that will draw you in from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

3.5 stars. This short story was a quick read, with fake dating and grumpy sunshine tropes. The MC's complemented each other very well; Hunter is the grumpy bossy one (though not entirely grumpy), and Emilia is the sunshiny (though not entirely so) employee who tells it like it is and calls Hunter out when he needs it. There were lots of steamy scenes, but I felt there were a couple of them that felt forced and contrived, plunked in with very little lead in. For the latter scenes, it felt like Emilia was given no opportunity to give consent and Hunter was being presumptuous. Overall, the plot was entertaining and the HEA ending was satisfying.

Holiday Fake Relationship! Heck yes! This was a short and sweet story, and I do just mean that it was short, and it was very sweet but don’t think that stops it from being steamy. Hunter is such a big butt, but at the beginning of the story, he was sweet, kind, and knows how to get what he wants. Emilia, such a sweetheart, can keep up with Hunters’ moodiness, and make it work out for them both!
Emilia has finally landed permanent full-time employment, to celebrate she and her best friend head out to a masquerade party where she meets Hunter for the first time, they have a great evening and Hunter is convinced that is all they are going to have. But oh boy was he wrong!.

Ruby Emhart always delivers an awesome read. Emilia & Hunter's story may have started out as a one night stand but is there a chance for more? A few weeks after that spectacular night Emilia discovers that the blue eyed hunk in the sexy suit is her new boss. As a boss he's a killjoy & is threatening to fire me if I don't pretend to be his girlfriend. It's Christmas time so what's a girl to do when he's offering such generous fringe benefits? What will Hunter say when he realises I have a bun in the oven?.

Short, seasonal boss romance
I admit I had difficulties with this book.
Whilst it was short, and essentially sweet, a lot of the descriptions particularly of the Christmas party venues, felt more like a list of colour schemes than anything.
I also felt that a lot of the dialogue was stilted and there were some plot holes too.
There was quite a bit of telling rather than showing, and I wasn't invested in this relationship.
However, there may be readers who enjoy this quick read.

This was a lovely short story that was a quick read and played out around Christmas. This is the story of Hunter and Emilia, they met at a masquerade party and the chemistry and attraction was immediately palpable between them, it's exciting and plenty of steamy and hot scenes unfolding between them. Highly recommended.

I started off detesting Hunter. He acted more of an asshole than a grump.
The first steamy scene at the party. Wow.
It took me a while to warm up to Hunter. By the end he was perfection.
Emilia and Jade were very amusing when they interacted.
I'm so glad the drama was resolved quickly.
I would like to see Hunter in his daddy role.

This doesn't last long before turning to love and a surprise. I'm glad Hunter was able to catch Emilia before the misunderstanding could ruin things.

I usually prefer longer, more in depth stories. But this one touched something inside of me. The only thing that could make this story better would be to see it lengthened with added character depth.

An unexpected hookup at a masquerade ball leaves Emilia confused when Hunter disappears soon after. Starting a new full time job, Emilia is shocked to realize Hunter is her new boss and he is arrogant and grumpy. This was such a fun read. Loved it.

This was a cute quick and steamy read. Had all the cute Christmas time themes. There was a very quick connection between the MFC and the MMC.

I’m a bit disappointed to be truthful, I thought it could of been so much more.

I really liked this book. For being a short story it was full of everything you might find in a longer story. Plenty of steam, romance, a bit of angst and a couple who fall for one another. Hunter and Emilia meet at a masquerade party and the attraction is immediate. Even with masks on. One thing leads to another and they share an intimate moment on the balcony. Fast forward a week and the two meet again, having never exchanged names at Emilia's new job. Turns out Hunter is her new boss and in need of a fake girlfriend for an upcoming holiday event. Will Emilia agree to Hunter's terms? Or will they go their separate way? This was a wonderful read with a great HEA.

Hunter and Emilia meet by chance and are immediately attracted to each other. They have a one night stand that leads to much more. A few weeks later, Hunter is revealed to be Emilia's new boss and he IS bossy and demanding. He tells her that she can agree to pretend to be in a relationship or she can say goodbye to her job. He does promise to make it worth her while, but what will he think when she tells him that there is going to soon be a baby in the relationship?
