I received an ARC through "Booksprout" and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

In this story Henry is in prison after being convicted of terrorism for his help with the IRA. The story details what Henry's life is like on a day-to-day basis at the prison. It shows his day starting out at the gym and in the afternoon he works in the library. He looks forward to his visits from Nancy and also writing letters to her as well.

Nancy on the other hand, is at a women's conference where at a receprtion one of the guests happens to be discovered dead on the sidewalk. All signs point to him being a jumper. For this case Inspector Pole is brought in. Shortly thereafter, another person has died while his car was running in the garage and this too was believed to be a suicide. Pole has Nancy working as a consultant on these cases and she believes that these are murders and not suicides. Both of these victims were involved in the Banking industry and point to something going on.

Henry is aware of these events and has been looking into what might be the cause. In his last visit with Nancy, Henry presents his observations to her and suggests that Pole might want his help. He told her that he needed to be out of prison to do this work. While this is going on another member of Government involved with Banking as been in a hit-and-run accident and is in the hospital.

Henry has put all of this information and presented his findings. Everything points to another person being involved and who happens to be a friend of Nancy's that she was a mentor for.

To discover what event all the killings were associated with, what other person Nancy had to the facts pointed to and who was really responsible for the actions, then you need to read this book. The ending will have you questioning what is next?

#2 in the Henry Crown, Paying The Price Series.

We see the return of Henry. Nancy and Inspector Pole, but in this, Henry has been jailed for 30 years for his part in financial terrorism.

But, due to his expertise, Inspector Pole reluctantly needs his help on a new case.

Just as the financial crisis is easing there’s the threat of a new global financial catastrophe. Can Crowne, Nancy and Inspector Pole put a stop to it, or is someone more determined to stop them?

Another intense, gripping financial thriller from Freddie P Peters. Brilliant and very clever.

I hugely enjoyed Breaking Point, the second book by Freddie P Peters. I became completely involved in the lives of the characters in the first book, Collap$e, and couldn’t wait to find out how the plot evolved. Breaking Point did not disappoint, if anything it is better than the first - which I couldn’t put down - with its fast pace and rich character development. Nancy, Henry, Jonathan and their triangular relationship involving city finance, terrorism, and physical attraction keeps one intrigued and guessing. The people they interact with in the worlds of art and the art market, banking and the criminal fringes add to the vividness of the story. I’d highly recommend this cracking read!

Intense gripping thriller. This is book 2 but it is standalone story…. Henry Crown has been locked up for three decades for the crime of financial terrorism. But both Nancy who looks forward to seeing on visits and her correspondence through letters to keep him sane and Inspector Pole need his help . There’s occurrences that only his sort of insight can navigate. For Nancy it seems a little close for comfort. I wasn’t sure what to expect as the author is new to me but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s wrote well with good background.
I received an arc of this and my review is voluntary

The story and characters continue to develop really well and again this is an absolute page turner leaving you with no choice but to buy the third book in this trilogy when it is released. I loved reading about areas in the City I know so well.

There are 3 themes in this story- Harry, Pool etal, and Brette. The action had me turning pages as soon as I finished the page. I liked the Poole-Nancy connection and how Harry is managing his mind while in prison. I didn’t care for the Brette- M16 bit
