FBI Profiler, Leo Reeves, has settled into his new job and his new life in Los Angeles. Working with Max Prince every day in the office is fulfilling but not as satisfying as burning up the sheets with him every night at home. Their first case together as partners resulted in the bad guys either behind bars or six feet under, but neither man thinks they’ve completely put an end to the murderous ring. As time goes on, and they interview the stragglers they managed to arrest, the agents realize a much larger organization is at work.
Could a criminal mastermind be controlling multiple cells of murderers?
When one of their team is gunned down in a senseless mass shooting, all bets are off. Leo and Max are fueled by a new motive…rage. As more corpses from their first case are identified, new information about the ring begins to emerge. Worse yet, when they realize copycats are mirroring the work of famous serial killers, things get gruesome. For Leo, working as a profiler has always been his passion but he starts to rethink everything when one copycat begins skinning his victims.
When they connect the gunman to a criminal biker gang, things get even nastier.
Worst of all, an old nemesis of Snow and McCallahan suddenly resurfaces when they stumble onto a scene staged to look like a horror movie…a real-life horror movie. When the case begins to threaten Leo’s sanity, Max’s protective instincts kick in, big time. He wants his lover safe in his arms and away from reminders of the past. From the MDC in downtown L.A. to the scorching deserts around Victorville, this case simply must end…right?

Leo On Fire is an utterly absorbing procedural with some horrifically gnarly crimes being investigated by a team of our favourites from this book universe; and of course there's the beautiful relationship developing between the main characters that just melts the heart.
I thought it would be impossible for any of this author's characters to rival Jarrett and Thayne as my absolute favourite of her couples but, holy moly, Max and Leo are pushing for the crown. They really are the whole package - bad @sses in their professional life whilst being total relationship goals in their personal life: laser-like focus on solving the case with their band of brothers and sisters whilst being completely aware of each other's feelings and needs, even (especially!) when the nature of the case gets a bit to close to home for both men...
Be prepared to settle in for a few hours on a wild chase around various cities with the team as they're on the trail of the baddest of bad guys who have drugs, murder and mayhem on their agenda. This may be a note of caution for some but there's a cliffhanger so we know where the team are headed next and I'm already anxiously awaiting the third instalment of this fantastic series. Easy 5* from me!
Man this was so good. I love that we get to follow these guys as they continue to grow their relationship. And the suspense is high here. Light and fluffy this ain’t but if you want a read that hooks you from the first book and keeps you up until your done with this one then yes this is that book. Like the last, you won’t want to put it down. It does have a cliffhanger ending but it just makes you want the next one more. I was given an arc from GRR and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Loved loved loved it. This is book 2 in the series and must be read in order. Book 2 takes off right after the end of the first book. More information becomes available on their open case and Max and Leo and thei team work hard to figure out what is going on. Lots of action and high heat between the MCs. Looking forward to reading the next one in this series. You will definitely enjoy.
Leo on Fire takes place where book one leaves off. Lots of action, and a great progression of Leo and Max's relationship. I'm looking forward to the next book.
4.5 Stars .. This book is certainly action-packed never a dull moment! Leo and Max are FBI agents working on an ongoing case that is hampered by someone doing copycat killings.
An extremely interesting book that had me completely engrossed. I was easily drawn into the story as the writing flowed and the characters were solid. Leo and Max are more than work partners finding that they can’t resist each other. They both are supportive of each other …
Criminals, Copycat killings, huge amount of chaos plus two FBI agents who have very strong feelings for each other.
This installment of Leo, Max and team has quite a bit action! We get to see the entire team working together to try to bring down these killers. Max and Leo's relationship is growing so much closer with this going on! We get plenty of steamy scenes now mixing with a real caring and commitment to their relationship! They are dedicated to the job and each other. This book was a page turner, and the overarching plot will continue alongside in the next book! Hope we do not have to wait too long!
*a series to be read in order* An excellent second book in this series!! Patricia Logan is amazing in the detail that she goes into with the criminal and procedural aspects of her books. We go from high to low for Max and Leo within the first chapter or two as they spend quality time together but then their case from book one continues and grows in depth, depravity and complication. Leo is especially affected by this when it brings up links with his past. Max is by his side the whole time, for work and their relationship but Leo has a lot to contend with when they are faced with the serial killer's latest victims. Max doesn't remain unaffected as someone from his past is linked and it's distressing scenes for everyone involved. It's intense and dark in places whilst being equally balanced with love and attraction between the couple. They also have great support and comradery from their team to try and solve this case before more people are kidnapped, sold and killed. Another high quality dramatic FBI story with a great romance between two strong leads. We're also left at a point that is going to lead readers and the team into a dark, tense place with links to an MC's past. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
Leo on Fire takes place where book one leaves off. Leo and Max and the team are trying to follow up with the human trafficking and the killings. Leo and his Boss, Lincoln Snow, go to the detention center to interview one of the former members of the team, who betrayed them. There was an shooting incident while Leo and Snow were in the lobby of the detention center. Snow was hit in the chest by a bullet and Leo got grazed in his arm. This put Snow out of commission and he assigns Max to be in charge. This storyline had a lot more substance to it. One of the serial killers is a copycat of Leo's father. Having to deal with it puts a lot of pressure on Leo as he navigates through the case. It has the "edge of your seat" angst I like and it's action packed! This was a tough one to read. I enjoyed seeing the growth in Leo and Max's relationship. Ms. Logan is great at character development and she connects so well with the reader. I'm looking forward to the next book!
Max and Leo are back with an even darker thriller, than the first book. Which leads me to the point, that you need to read the first book in the series. There are many plot lines and characters that carry over and it won't make a lot of sense if you don't. Also, it's a good idea if you've read the Death & Destruction series. Patricia has continually built an entire book universe and proceeded to expand that universe to include the FBI now. I'm completely intrigued by all of her main characters, side characters and her ability to incorporate characters from her other series. In this book she's upped her game exponentially with copy cat serial killers and the level of dark and nasty things the copycats do and who they are targeting. Not only does she have that plot line going on, she is also advancing Max and Leo's relationship. I truly can't wait to see where she takes this series next. I highly recommend you read this series and get as hooked on it as I have.
Wow, this book had my heart beating fast from front cover to back cover. I absolutely loved it. I felt like we got to know Leo and Max much better, as individuals and as a couple. I don't want to give anything away, but I will say this book was dark and gritty and a whole lot gruesome, but I love that kind of stuff. I also love the character Flay, he's the perfect comedic relief for such a heavy book at times. This book does end on a soft cliffhanger, the overall arc isn't solved yet. I can't wait till the next installment.
I liked this book better than I did the previous installment. It had a lot more legwork w.r.t. a case rather than agents just hanging about. It also ended on a sort of cliffhanger that I am looking forward to being addressed and solved in the next book.
Most of Patricia Logan's crime based novels seem like an episode of Criminal minds or SVU with somewhat cliche dialogue or characters but as I love both those shows I can't really complain other than the fact that it sometimes is too OTT for me. But hey, I am still reading the series so I think I can take it.
Leo on fire is a great follow up to Prince of LA, which I recommend reading first. I am a known sucker for a procedural with a hint of MM, and this story leans into that. The crimes in this story are really grisly - think criminal minds or bones - and the author packs in some good twists and turns in the story. The lead characters really reflect on their roles and the impact of who they are and their history on the way that they approach the investigation. In this story, Prince is thrown into a leadership position while Leo grapples with a close to home copycat killer. Meanwhile, the relationship between the two develops in a very caring and supportive way. Overall, this was well written, well paced, and I am looking forward to the next instalment!
This story picks up right where The Prince of LA ended and can't be read as a standalone. Leo's and Max's relationship is deepening and the plot is thickening - apparently they have copycat serial killer (s) on their hands. I love all the characters in this series. They are masterfully written - even the smallest cameos. The moment they appeared each took a life of their own. Those who have read Death and destruction series will be happy to reconnect with some characters from that amazing series. So if your favourite trope is a very well written action packed mystery/procedural this is definitely a must read.
Patrica Logan has written another amazing book in the FBI files series! I was so happy to see Max and Leo continue their relationship while chasing down leads from the ongoing case started in the first book. I loved that the storylines surrounding the investigation were carried over from book one while Leo and Max were given a for-now HEA at the end of this book. There were so many aspects of this book that easily could have dragged readers down but there was a nice balance of romance, friendship, and frankly terrifying crimes. I can't wait to see what is next in this series and for Max and Leo!
Run away from this series if you like romance novels because you won't get that here. Max and Leo are two FBI agents who catch serial killers. Snooze.
What I wanted was a romance novel and what I received was a true crime book which made me fall asleep while reading it.
If you don't need romance in your romance novels then you might like it.
If I could do this over again I wouldn't have wasted my time on this series. I found it extremely uninteresting and with the lacking of emotion or romance, I find it nonsensical and also misleading. It's not a "romance novel". Someone should really change this definition in Goodreads because I literally wasted my time reading this when in the end nothing loving or romantic even happened.
The world building is amazing. The writing is good.
Max and Leo are back for another case. The two are caught up in a series of heinous serial murders. Leo’s past comes up in a disturbing manner when he is only just settling in to his new team and his burgeoning relationship with Max. Max for his part is dealt a blow from his own past that could put him in the crosshairs of a killer. As if this isn’t enough difficulty for these two a member of their team is left to fight for his life. This book takes you on an action packed adventure through California and into Nevada. The team is shaken to its core and Leo and Max are tested in their growing relationship. And the book ends with a spectacular cliffhanger that leaves you yearning for the next book in the series.
Leo and Max for the win!!! I freaking love this series!!! I though the first book was great...this one's even better!! It's got everything that I've come to expect from these two :
✅ Action ✅Danger ✅Adventure ✅Bad Ass-ery ✔️✔️ ✅Insane Chemistry ✅Fire in the Bedroom🔥🔥🔥🔥 ✅ Love ❤️
Once again Patricia Logan slayed!! The next book can not come fast enough!!! I highly recommend this read, it's not stand alone so pick up the first in this series as well. You will not be disappointed, I promise.
* I received an ARC from GRR, this is my open and honest review *
I absolutely love these two together & the team they work with is just as great! My heart goes out to Leo with everything he’d been through as a child & now some sicko is a copycat of his fathers work that he has tried to put behind him for years! But Max & the team are there for Leo every step of the way! I loved this book so much & I can’t wait for the next one! 😀❤️
So freaking good. The copycat serial killers are really sick sobs. One of them is like Leo's father & is a huge trigger for him. So this book picks up where the first one left off, so I do not recommend reading this one until you have read the first book. The team gets a bead on a biker gang who moving meth & appears to be involved in the kidnaping & giving them to the killers. When Snow is severely injured, Max is temporarily put in charge of the team. They find out who is behind some of this, but I don't think they have found the actual head of these killers. Leo & Max are a strong unit & I love how Max is strong for Leo when he needs it. They make an awesome couple, both work & personally. This book takes you on a while ride & keeps you on the edge of your seat. The book does end on a cliffhanger as they are still hunting down all the players. I can't wait for the next book in this series.
I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest opinion
Leo on Fire is the second book on this series, Leo and Max are following up the case about the human trafficking and know they are dealing with copy cats of various serial killers, everything is getting very complicated and poor Leo everything is very difficult for him. There’s an attempt of murder involving Leo and his Boss, Lincoln Snow, motorcycle gangs that are very dangerous and a new serial killer that maybe is obsessed with Max and Leo. The book is very good, the investigation and the research are very important in the book. I enjoy the relationship between Leo and Max, they are strong together and they are definitely perfect for each other. I’m looking forward for the next book! This is getting better and better!
They put the criminals behind bars but they are about to discover it is just the tip of the iceberg. It is going to be a hard job finding the mastermind behind it all. There will be many different routes to go on as they try to stop the mastermind. Can they stop him? Who are they? Will there be more killings? See if they can put a stop to it all
Lots of action, and great progression of Leo and Max's relationship. The workings of a good law enforcement team is wonderful to read. Pulling in copycat serial killers is a twisted idea, and makes the story move along at a decent pace. Overall, enjoyable, if a bit disturbing due to subject matter. Looking forward to the next book.
Absolutely amazing! Patricia Logan has made another story that I absolutely love. I love seeing how Leo and Max's relationship is growing. They are HOT and sweet. I just love them so much. This story is action packed that I couldn't stop reading. I can't wait for more in this series.
The thing I love most about this series is the relationship among these people that make Max and Leo’s team and circle of colleagues and friends. They all have each other’s back no matter what. And Max and Leo are on fire. They are spicy and sweet all at the same time. Patricia Logan knows how to balance the horrific crimes the team is investigating and keep it just light enough to keep pulling you through the whole thing. I need to read the related series. Also don’t read this one if you haven’t read the first book.
This book continues where book one ended. Leo and Max are looking for more participants in the murder games and they are working along with the detectives of the LAPD and the ATF teams. They are getting some answers slowly and getting more cases of dead as well. A member of their team is hurt bad and that leaves Max in charge of the investigation. A person from Max's past is brought into this investigation and it makes things worse for him and Leo. Leo's past is brought in as well and he's not dealing well with it. Leo and Max are getting closer and finally realizing that they love each other.
This is a well written murder, mystery, romance. The chemistry between Max and Leo as well as all the supporting characters is well written. The story is well thought out and I'm excited to see where the next book takes us.
As usual there is not enough stars for a Patricia Logan book! I have no idea how that woman can come up with all that scum of the earth and still be a grandmother that bakes cookies!!! What ever! Just keep up the good work! Leo and Max are still chasing the latest scums but now we have a twist because Max is now being stalked! Just sayin they better no hurt Bruce or Flay because I will come and get them! Snow is down and Max is temporarily running the show and all the agents nerves are on edge. In other words you are not going to draw an easy breath until you get to the heafn!!!!!!
I was excited to read this 2nd book and I was not disappointed. Now I have to wait until February for the continuation. I have a theory….who they are looking for, but I won’t tell.
The one thing that bothers me a little is that there are some phrases or conversations that are repeated. I think the author does it on purpose though.
If you haven’t read “Prince of LA” I would suggest you read that first.
I received this ARC from GRR and this is my honest opinion.
being back with leo and max was absolutely amazing I loved it
leo on fire was intense full of action and mystery but also we see max and leo continue their relationship as well as solve the crimes and protect and kept each other safe
leo on fire absorbs you and keeps you hooked and intrigued
