October 25, 2024Now THIS is what I mean when I say I want a mafia romance with plot. Because WOW was the plot PLOTTING. This is part one of a duology following one couple, so there is a minor cliffhanger, but it’s not too bad. There are incredible twists, turns, and reveals, and it’s sooooo kinky. Like I was shook haha.
These characters are complex, addicting to read, and I was invested from chapter one honestly. Nouha brilliantly writes these dark, f*cked up characters and themes so, so well. Dark romance is a hard genre to get right, and Nouha nailed it!

I need her to worship me as much as I worship her. I don’t care that I don’t deserve her. I want her bound to me. I’ll end the life of anyone who tries to take her away from me. Angelica has been mine since the day I first saw her, even if she didn’t know it. “You belong to me, Angelica.”

How DARE
The disrespect is so real.
The award for the most spineless heroine goes to this bitch. No backbone seen felt or heard whatsoever.
The fact that this ended in a cliffy and i HAVE to read the next one because i want to see where this ends.
The stalker trope which everyone knows i LOVE was so boring and lame.
The hero gave himself WAYYYY too much importance for being him.
The heroine was just pathetic.
(I hope dion's book is better than this travesty)

Okay, where should I start.
I was very lucky to receive an ARC of this book, in exchange for an honest review.
This is a dark mafia romance, with a lot of spice, a lot of TW, very morally dark characters.
This is for the warnings.
Angelica is a mafia princess, who ran away from her father to be free, leaving behind her childhood friends and a life of trauma.
Evander is the nephew of the Godfather of the Night of his family, and is the sworn enemy of Angelica’s family.
And there is the stalker, whose identity is obviously unknown.
Those are the 3 POVs you’ll have in this book, and I do love a multiple POV book.
I loved this book. Honestly loved it. I loved the story, I loved the characters, their backstories, the PLAYLIST (yes there’s a playlist).
There are a few things that bothered me a bit, such as the fact that Angelica doesn’t even seem to really question the fact that there is a person who has full access to her freaking house when it’s supposed to have a mafia-deserving security system, or how she can’t seem to have any sense of self preservation when it comes to someone as toxic as Evander.
But that was part of the game, part of the story, and she finally seems to grow a backbone, eventually.
The 4th character of this book could be one of Angelica’s friend, but no. No dear reader. The 4th character of this book could be you. But no, once again it’s not. The 4th character is THE SPICE AND THE TENSION. Some scenes made me blush, squirm, question my sanity. Nouha knows how to write a spicy scene, that’s for sure, and she aims to please her readers.
Oh, and the end will leave wanting for more, without putting you in a reading slump, and that is a bonus that I appreciated.
Please again, make sure to check the TW because this book is not for everyone.
I can’t wait for book 2.

Buckle up bitches we bout to get into this. Jk first let's go through some of the tropes and triggers since there's no point in you reading this review only to get to them later on and realize you don't want to deal with what it contains (that's the real blue balls). I'm not going to list all cause honestly it's a lot but you can find the list before the book starts and on the Author's insta for tropes!
Tropes: Greek Mob/Mafia, age gap, forbidden romance but she doesn't know it, secret/hidden identity, stalker, revenge plot

Angelica: I actually liked her? Is that a question? No I'm just surprised cause usually when it comes to mafia/dark romances I find there's a point at the beginning where I tend to find the MC's a little whiny or too innocent and I think we do get the naivety with Angelica but she's not annoying about it. I like the progression of her dealing with her dad and also trying to find her way on her own. The push and pull she had with Evander was interesting to read and honestly the internal dialogue was really relatable.
She spends a lot of time trying to figure out why she feels the way she does about Evander while also dealing with a spotty memory of her past that either stemmed from or resulted in her insanely shitty relationship with her father. I liked to see her interactions with the side characters as well and how they impacted her thoughts and struggles and ultimately her actions. I also think from the start of the book to the end she grew even more of a backbone and is more determined to make things better for herself.
Evander: Can someone say psycho? can someone say I love it? yeah I can. Right off the bat it's instalust for him (for Angelica too lets bffr) It's interesting though because he doesn't act on it and he has a good reason for it too. He does everything he can to stay away until he really can't and it just snowballs from there. We know right away what the secret he's keeping from Angelica is and honestly I was so mad he wouldn't just spit it out!!! He struggles with trying to tell himself Angelica doesn't really mean anything to him, like yeah she's hot and he wants in her pants but that's all *eye roll*
Our mans has a few moments where he's like oh damn maybe I do like her like her but wtf do I do about it and then our poor psycho lover boy goes through internal struggle while dealing with his Mafia don duties and all he's got is hope and a prayer for it to not blow up in his face.
The plot: While there is definitely layers to this plot I think the relationship between our two main characters is the main focus while the building blocks were laid for what will happen in book 2. It's very character heavy, especially the first 50% I'd say but there's hints here and there and I think book 2 will focus more on getting the answers to the plot questions you'll have after the end of book 1.
The book technically doesn't end on a cliff hanger, but it is open ended and there's still quite a few unanswered questions not just about how Evander will deal with being the Don and the people who don't want him to be but for Angelica's past and how her father played a role in some trauma she deals with. We also don't get the full story on Angelica's trauma and relationship with her father this book so that's something I'm also super excited to find out more about in the next book.
Total side note too, I'm not sure if we're going to get a book for Angelica's BFF Aria Evanders 2nd Dion or if we'll just get a resolution to their side plot in the next book but im LIVING FOR THEM.
But anyways, all this to say I CANNOT WAIT for book 2, I've def found myself a new fav bookish couple

Where do I begin?!?! Thank you to the author for providing me with this ARC ❤️This book is a stunning debut and a completely unique spin on mafia romance that will leave readers wanting more (I mean I’m seriously dying with anticipation for book 2)
The book centres around 3 POVs Angelica, Evander, & our Unknown stalker daddy and to say that I loved each one is an understatement.
With her father being a mafia leader Angelica has spent her whole life surrounded by the violent reality of being a mafia princess, but it’s not what she wants for herself. She escapes the from her home in Antium City and begins building a new life in Cebrene until unforeseen circumstances force her to move back to Antium completely turning her life upside down. Angelica is both fiesty and funny. So many times during her internal monologue I would just be nodding my head and going “same!” 😂 Despite not wanting to be part of the mafia world she does what needs to be done and I loved watching how her character developed as she began unraveling her own past and her current feelings.
Evan: WHEW!!!!! WHERE DO I BEGIN BABYYYY 😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨 I LOVE THIS MAN! The new Godfather of the night of the rival mafia family. The man is unhinged there’s no other way to put it, but I was hooked and addicted from the second we meet him 🫠 He’s dark, and merciless and will do anything, and I mean anything, to achieve what needs to be done. He’s got one thing on his mind, revenge, at least until he meets Angelica. And the mouth on this man????? He had me melted into a puddle I could not get enough of him.
Unknown: I won’t say to much other than if I had a stalker bringing me cheesecake and my favourite flowers I wouldn’t ask too many questions either 💀😂
Overall this book was IT!! The chemistry between the Evan and Angelica was off the charts 😮💨 is there anything hotter than watching an unhinged man be completely brought to his knees by a woman?? I think not. The smut??? WAS GIVING AND THEN SOME. Evan is a dirty MF and I was living for it!! And if you’re wondering, okay but what about the plot?? The author served that up too!! This book is packed with intrigue and action that will leave you dying for book 2 because you need to put together all the pieces!

The same old stalker romance. Decent enough story, just run of the mill. Loved the characters though. Loved the spice. Will read the next book!

wow I don’t even know where to begin. First I’m just so lucky I was chosen to be the first to read this.
I was enamored by the art I saw of the 2 main leads and just knew I had to read this.
Being back in my mafia era feels so good. This book was dark and intense and absolutely downright angsty. Angelica the mob bosses daughter is strong and intelligent but has secrets and has secrets being kept from her. Evander the quite bad boy with a reputation of being called the devil for the things he’ll do is hell bent on making Angelica his based on revenge but soon becomes so obsessed with her it’s insane. WHEN THEY INTEND FOR IT TO BE FAKE BUT END UP BECOMING THE ONE WHO FALLS FIRST>> This is a debut novel and what an absolute banger it was. Oh and the whole stalker element was super sexy and the plot twist I saw coming but enjoyed immensely. Most definitely excited for the next book.

ugh i love angelica. she’s such a beautiful fmc and one that you just want to know more about. she has such big heart and always tries to see the good in people. given the lifestyle she was raised in, she absolutely hates the mob life. she ran away not wanting to have anything to do with her dad’s business. but eventually everything comes catching up to her just when she finally finds some normal in her life. i felt so connected with her. it’s just the way nouha wrote her story that had me so intrigued 😩 i can’t wait to jump into the next book to see what’s going on. especially with that missing piece in her memories when angelica was a child. literally on the edge of my seat to find out what’s next omg !!

ugh i love angelica. she’s such a beautiful fmc and one that you just want to know more about. she has such big heart and always tries to see the good in people. given the lifestyle she was raised in, she absolutely hates the mob life. she ran away not wanting to have anything to do with her dad’s business. but eventually everything comes catching up to her just when she finally finds some normal in her life. i felt so connected with her. it’s just the way nouha wrote her story that had me so intrigued 😩 i can’t wait to jump into the next book to see what’s going on. especially with that missing piece in her memories when angelica was a child. literally on the edge of my seat to find out what’s next omg !!

I received an ARC for this gorgeous thing and will probably update my review after its release because I don't want to give spoilers.
Please check the trigger warnings before considering reading this book. It contains a lot of intense scenes.
For dark romance lovers, who like obsessed mafia men, stalker guys leaving flowers behind their tracts, characters with no inhibitions, rivalry and revenge plots; this book is for you.
I loved everything about this book. I usually get intimidated by stalker books because when they are not done well it is more of a thriller than a dark romance but this was so enjoyable to read.
Both main characters are unhinged and the MFC is not unlikeable. When it comes to mafia romance, I tend to dislike the female character because they are usually whiny and always asking for trouble but Ang was NOT like that at all. She is strong and I am loving the way she carries herself.
I have no words for Evan. He can do whatever he wants with me. I am here on my knees for him 🧎🏻♀️
When you read so many smutty books, some things start to get repetitive and sometimes boring for dark romance books or even vanilla for the situation. But that's not the case here with Evan.... I swear his dirty mouth and the things he did made me gasp for air on multiple occasions 👀

First off just the whole premise of this book in general is actual gold , and I’ve read quite a few mafia romances already in the last year, but there’s just some thing about this one that just puts it in a league of its own.
Evan and Angelica are the epitome of faded mates in my opinion. Evan is just everything you want in a possessive, protective, morally, Grey, alpha male MMC. 🥵
And Angelica? That woman is a spitfire and I LOVE her.
Oh, and don’t even get me started on the smutty smutty spice of this book. this, Greek god of a man says some of the dirtiest shit, and when I tell you, I had to do some one-handed reading for some of the scenes 🥵🫣
Oh, and the whole Stalker aspect? Lived for it, and I audibly gasped when we figured out who it was. And this cliffhanger though has me tweaking for the next book.

This was my first book in the dark romance genre and Nouha had me hooooked. I loved the build up of Angelica and Evan, individually and together. The chemistry, FIRE and…..darkness between them was unreal. I appreciated how detailed some moments were, as if you were right there in the room watching it unfold. The backstory had me so intrigued, the moment I finished reading the book, my first thought was “okay I need book II now!!!!”

I was sent an ARC of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review and goddamn this book was insane.
I will admit, it's been some time since I've read a dark (and I mean, DARK) romance book. Not to mean that I was hesitant but I had forgotten how much I enjoyed the gritty side of romance. 'The Diávolos' had everything you could possibly ask for in a dark mafia romance novel.
The characters were the highlight of the story for me.
I fell in love with our main character, Angelica, who had a different sort of strength to her that I admired so much. I love in dark romances when the MC express their desires rather than admitting they don't want something, and every time, Angie affirmed this for me. I loved her wit, her sarcasm, her internal monologue and her need for revenge.
Then we had our two MMCs: Evander (the love interest) and Unknown (the stalker). Although this book isn't marketed as a "mystery novel," there was a certain sort of ominous component woven through the story. Unknown's POV allowed us insight into the mind of an obsessed stalker while Evander's showed us the progression of the love interest's deepening desire for the main character. This was done so well. The character development throughout this book was incredibly executed.
I also loved the side characters, especially Daniel. M/M novella spin-off, mayhaps?
Another highlight for me was the concept of the Sisterhood. Although we didn't get much insight into this mysterious organisation, which I completely understand given that this book was more about its set-up and the romantic aspect, I'm so excited to get to learn more about it in Part Two to this story. I think there's so much potential in that, and not to mention the way it was introduced in this had me enthralled.
This book has so much in store for any lover of dark romance: Greek mafia, rival families, obsessed romantic interests, intense smut, secret societies, action, pining.
Please, please, please check trigger warnings before you embark on this crazy journey! This is NOT a light-hearted novel.

This book was gripping, and I couldn't help but devour it. This is a new favorite crime syndicate romance.
I HIGHLY recommend going into this one mostly blind for the best experience, so I'll only share a bit. Please still be sure to check the content warnings before diving in!
The book starts off with some stage-setting, telling us about our FMC's background and how her life led her to her current predicament. A mafia princess and daughter of a Greek "Godfather", Angelica has spent the last 4 years running from the darkness she grew up in. Just when she gets comfortable, she's ripped away from her new life and brought back home, where the Godfathers' work just seems to be getting more twisted.
The story is told from 3 POVs: Angelica, her secret admirer (read: $talk3r), and Evander: the man who wants to use her for revenge. When I tell you I had no idea who to root for... I'm so serious.
Angelica is hilarious, tough, and doesn't hesitate to run to her support system for help - which feels wonderfully refreshing to find in a crime syndicate romance.
Don't even get me started on the MMC. I will literally melt. Again. He's obsessed, possessive, and when he sets his sites on Angelica... well, you'll just have to read it.
There's a lot of mystery built up here, too, and I'm dying for the next book because I NEED ANSWERS.

I loved this book just as much as I loved The Brutal Birthright series by Sophie Lark, so you KNOW this has got to be good!
The fact that this is a debut blows me away- Nouha, you truly have a way with words- this book had me hooked from start to finish- I simply COULD not put it down!
I loved all three perspectives within this story- Angelica, the Mafia's Princess, the elusive and mysterious bad boy Evander, and of course our mystery stalker. I also loved how you end up falling for all of the characters, even the side ones. It makes you really connect to the story even more- plus I have to know what is next in store for everyone!!
This book also does an excellent job at blurring the lines between right and wrong and the moral grayness of it all. It truly makes you question everything throughout the entire book, but in the best way possible. Also Evander can be my book boyfriend any day of the week!
Also the steam?? Top notch. Would recommend!

The fact that this is a debut blows me away- Nouha, you truly have a way with words- this book had me hooked from start to finish- I simply COULD not put it down!

This was a fun ride! Check your trigger warnings… I was fine but a lot of people might not be.. ( again what that says about me idk lol )
The smut was FIRE. Evander is definitely unhinged and it shows. There’s no remorse in about anything he does and I’m here for it. Angelica I found annoying but I also loved a lot of things about her. How she fought for a simpler life… for her friends.. for love. I enjoyed it… but my only complaint is the stalker ! I seriously think this was a storyline that’s not necessary. You can take it out and i would still love it.. but I guess it served it’s purpose. Any who… I’m excited for book 2 so YES I will be reading the series.

This was a new twist on mafia romance. It had twists and turns and all of the spice! A promising debut from Nouha Julllienne—I’m excited to see what’s next!

One of the first things I want to mention is how absolutely fabulous the writing was. And this is a debut novel y'all. The eloquence of the authors words was truly so impressive, and I found myself getting so lost in the words on the page. I was truly transported to Cebrene and Antium City. I dove into that world and the vibes are killer.

Getting those first POV chapters from our FMCs stälker was too much for the lady bits y'all. I have never felt more insane than I did reading this book and gushing over Angie's stälker. Like, sir... I would also like love notes, cheesecakes, and to be someone's muse. Sign me up. (Yes I already contacted my therapist, we good)
Angelica! Our leading lady ❤ Slowly unraveling her past was really impactful and the author's anxiety and trauma rep was so accurate. The topic was portrayed very well, but again please check triggers warnings for heavy topics. I love that our girl can shoot a gun and lives life recklessly. She's a free spirit and a feisty b*tch and I love her for it.
And EVANDER 🔥 the man has so much trauma and is a huge alphahole. And we love a good bad boy with a dark past. 😈 I'm a girl who loves a villain and damn, he delivers. And that mouth on him had me sweating.
Many revelations are made throughout this book that left me speechless, and the one at 97% - my jaw dropped. Literally. The plot of this book had me jumping from theory to theory and I still am left with so many questions. I love books that keep me on my toes and this one did just that.
I can't freaking wait for Part Two.

This book is about as dark and twisty as it gets. 😈
There were two different spicy scenes that had me ON THE FLOOR in astonishment and that does not happen often because I read a ton of spice. I was SPEECHLESS and had to close my eyes and gasp for air a few times.
That being said, this is a mafia romance that involves stalking, a secret identity POV, suspense, twists and turns, secrets and trauma, absolutely unhinged spice, and forbidden love. It’s very dark, so please check trigger warnings!
Personally, I get so bored with sweet innocent heroes that are too nice. Evan was NOT that. He may have been a little toxic and awful in parts… but he was so delicious and addicting at the same time. It was a deadly combination and I was questioning myself by the end. Like why am I loving this man he is so bad?! Lol if you simp over morally gray bad men that are extremely sexy, then you will love him as much as I did lol some of the things he was saying when he groveled to Angelica had me MELTING!
Angelica was such a strong FMC. I admired her confidence and willingness to stand up to everyone that had wronged her in one way or another. Towards the end, I could feel her walls breaking down a bit though and she was giving in. I hope she regains that power in part 2. It was one of the best parts about the beginning of this book! Just seeing her take control of her bad situations was inspiring!
The two main characters have great chemistry, but I loved the side characters too. I’m going to be begging this author for Gianis to get his own book 🙏
There is one thing that I would change about this book - and that is that there was ALOT happening at all times. I wouldn’t classify it as an “easy read” just because so much is going on. There were a ton of great tropes and storylines, but at times, it was overwhelming with the amount of info and developments.
However! I happened to be in the mood for something that wouldn’t bore me! I wanted something a little insane with a lot of action, and I got that!! All in all, I loved it and would highly recommend if you’re a dark romance fan.
I cannot wait to see what happens in part 2! 🖤

“The Diávolos” is the debut novel from author N Jullienne. While this is a debut novel, it does not read like one, which is great!
“The Diávolos” follows Greek mafia princess Angelica and her whirlwind romance with Evan, the Godfather of the rival mafia family.
Without giving much away, I will say that this was a unique take on mafia romance. This is the first mafia romance I read where the princess is obtuse and intentionally ignorant to the mafia lifestyle. Despite growing up the daughter of the prominent mafia boss, she exhibits no signs that would give this away. No gun on her hip, no knife easily accessible (it’s in her purse, sure) and no situational awareness. She has a stalker who regularly breaks into her home and legitimately finds comfort in it… out of all the mafia romances I’ve read, never have I read one with a FMC so unwilling to play the part.
Evan is the morally grey love interest who leans more on the black side than gray. What confused me about Evan was the difference in how he’s described versus how he acts. Visually, Evan is a ruthless mob boss who has earned the nickname “the devil”. But verbally, this isn’t the impression he gives me at all. His actions show him as someone who kills without remorse, yet he speaks so casually with his other men in command. I know this might be a little thing to some, but hearing him use the words “bro” and “I don’t kneel for no man” made it hard for me to fully understand him. What mob boss is so casual with his chain of command?
Interestingly, in the beginning of the novel Angelica has a stalker, and while this is sold as part of the main plot, it actually fizzles out at the end of part one. Not only that, but it’s quite clear who the stalker is from the very beginning. There were multiple directions this could have gone in, but unfortunately it doesn’t develop much further than a reveal.
I went into this expecting it to be a more traditional mafia romance and found it to be nothing like my expectations. The book isn’t bad by any means, but is one that will be enjoyed more by those who go in without expecting a traditional mafia romance.

Angelica has her own whirlwind of problems from her Dad, who is the Godfather of the Kouvalakis family and the rivals of the Vasilaki family, to a stalker, to an enemy in a neighboring city, and there’s the issues of her being unable to recall things from her past. But Angelica falls for Evan and they both find them obsessed with one another and unable to resist the draw they have towards each other.
When Angelica finds out who Evan really is, she runs. Of course she runs, leaving behind the hot and heavy relationship they share, running from her father, running from the mob.
I loved this book! I love mafia/mob romances and this one has so much going on that it stays interesting and it’s not the same evil revenge plot. We have a few different fucked up things going on and it keeps the story moving along. Evan and Angelica are interesting together. I’m honestly astounded that Angelica didn’t realize who Evan was from the jump, especially when they end up at Arias engagement party. A book about the greek mafia! How can I not give this a try?

The world she is creating is just crazy.
We have Angelica, our FMC who is the daughter of a Mafia Boss, and Evan, who will do anything to get his revenge on Angies father - even use her. And then we have the best of all: there is a Stalker twist! I loved that part so much! 💙
Evan is manipulating, possessive and calls himself two things: The Devil and a Monster. Both fit him very well. He’s sadistic and has fun torturing and killing. Exactly my type of Bookboyfriend 😏
I had so much fun following Evan trying to get Ang to fall in love with him, only to succumb to an Angel. And I sooo love him calling Ang “angeloudi mou" 💙 All over, the greek used in the book is the best part for me 😁 I absolutely loved it!
But not all is sunshine in the book! Please keep in mind that it is a Dark Romance. The Trigger Warnings are not just there for fun! So if you have a problem with a manipulating, possessive Dominant, using this sweet, bratty and quite submissive girl, in order to get what he wants, or even one of the other TW, then this book is not for you!
The twist with the Stalker kept me up and made me crazy until I found out who it was. And everything happening in the background keeps the action going. My only problem here, was how okay Angelica is with being stalked. For a mafia princess, she is far too happy to have someone breaking into her house and leaving her messages and presents. I like that she herself says that it is crazy, but she’s not really doing anything but “enjoy the attention”.
Nouha, you know my reactions to Evan and Ang best 🫣 I think you reread that book through my reactions 🤣
I will only say two things about the spice: guns and knives 🫠 The book is full of tension in the beginning. Ang wants Evan pretty much from the first glance but The Devil likes to play 😏
