Great book
A lot of back and forth though
The ending has me in an oh shit moment
FMC is a clear representation of inner strength and the same endurance and trials that most werewolf FMC’s go through
The MMC a stoic impenetrable guy is a juxtaposition of emotions and characters. It was truly hard to tell where his loyalties lay and the true extent of his affection for FMC
The ending confined what we knew all along and I hope the book 2 would bring some answers to burning questions.

I absolutely love this book from the start. I catalogue it as a gem, it has everything I looked for a book at that time: love, hate, betrayal, sweetness & spice, smut, adventure, mystery, mythical creatures, witchcraft, the story had me at the edge of the seat all the time. I fell in love with Yielena and Theon, her character growth and his redemption are so well written it makes you drop anny other book and start reading this one right away. I’m very happy with my purchase as I find myself rereading often.

Theon and Yileyna are by far my favorite couple.. the unique bond they share through all of the trials they faced… mainly the trials are because of Theon…
So many twists and turns, you’ll think you know what’s going to happen next but the queen of cliffy’s will throw you a curveball to the unexpected.

Now THIS is a read that deserves the five stars that everyone’s given it. It’s got some dark and wonderful throat gripping spice, literally. It’ll get you in a chokehold. And the twists are just as good. Definitely not for the faint hearted, as the author warns in the beginning.
Editing to add,after starting book 2, that the MMC feels heavily influenced by Heero Yuy and the relationship has the feeling of Heero and Relena of Gundam Wing. Kind of neat!

This book is an absolute page-turner! I never used to enjoy werewolf stories because they felt too fictional for me, but this one completely changed my mind. I was hooked from the start and couldn’t put it down.
I first came across this book through a promotional video, and the intense love-hate dynamic between the characters piqued my curiosity. One scene, in particular, where the FMC asks the MC about their relationship, left me questioning everything. The plot is full of unexpected twists, making me love both the story and the author even more.
The character development in this book is incredible. The FMC starts off as a bit of a happy-go-lucky character, but her transformation into someone resilient and strong was inspiring. While some may dislike the MC, I found his backstory intriguing. It helped me understand why he became the way he is, and in the end, he proved to be a good person deep down.
The author’s writing style impressed me so much that I immediately became a fan. She truly is the Queen of Cliffhangers and Twists, yet she always delivers a well-earned HEA. One thing I love about her books is that her FMCs are always intelligent and strong, never weak or foolish.
One of the most heartbreaking moments for me was the snow scene. I literally cried and had to take a break from reading for a few days. It was that powerful!
If you love dark romance, revenge themes, and hate-to-love tropes, this book is PERFECT for you. Highly recommended! 💜

This was a reread for me, and again, I devoured this book. Moonlight Muse created a magical world with an intricate magic system with so many different beings from Werewolves, Nagas, and Sirens to Fae.
I am absolutely obsessed with Yileyna and Theon. The chemistry between these two was off the charts, and the tension was palpable. And the spice was hot 🥵🥵🥵. Not only was I obsessed with Yileyna and Theon, but Muse created so many side characters that you will fall in love with.
The writing and pacing were perfection. Even though Yileyna had been through so much, she continued to persevere and grow into a strong woman. Theon was my perfect, morally grey antihero. He was terrible at times.. but did I love him? Yes, yes, I did 🫣

I cannot believe i haven’t read this book sooner and really upset that i didn't. This is one of those books that real life is a burden and gets in the way of reading, because all you want to do is keep flipping the pages to find out what is going on.
I honestly do not know where Muse gets all these stories in her head from, and how she can keep track of everything all while still delivering an epic story full of all kinds of emotions, twist and turns and of course an epic cliffy that leaves your jaw on the floor asking what the heck just happened at 2 am.
this story was so good and takes you into a world that is built so well it feels like you are watching a movie in your head. The epic twist and turns this book went on had me questioning everyone and everything and I could not stop myself. i had to immediately dive into book 2 to try and get some answers.

What thrilling ride that was! The FMC grows A LOT, so don’t judge her too early on. The MMC is a tried and true douche canoe, but the chemistry between them is 🔥.
This is not your usual shifter story. It’s far more fantasy based, which is not what I was expecting. I very much enjoyed it nonetheless.
It was hard for me to put this book down. I devoured it in 2 days and now have my usual headache from eating and breathing this storyline and barely doing anything else.

Finally, finished this book few days back. And what can I say. An absolute masterpiece again Author Muse.
Alpha Hunter, man such a swoon worthy personality/character. Of course both brothers have to be poles apart. So all my loves goes to Alpha Hunter. 🥰😍
And Yileyna De Lacor. Lives up to the title “The Heart belongs to everyone”.
A people’s Queen. ♥️
Her characters growth is marvelous. And Charlene and Raiden, such a sweetheart.
Don’t know if we can see a worst villain than Theoden. But you penned him down perfectly.👍🏼
Overall, I could fall in love with your writing again and again forever, Muse. 🫠

Only pick up this DUET when you have lots of free time on your hand because it was one rollercoaster of emotions. I kid you not.
The story was also long because character and plot development, right?
The heroine will go through transformations of naiive, sheltered young woman to a woman scorned and betrayed, and finally to being Queen. If you enjoy fantasy romance with a punch, then this would be it. It would be heartbreaking, so prepare yourself. The journey to the HEA was very, very, very tiring and long.

The first book of the Betrayal Duet lives up to it's name. Theon is NOT for the faint of heart. He is as alpha male as an Alpha can get. He is on sexy alphahole. Yileyna is a character who shows so much growth throughout this duet. Some consider her mild and meek but by the end, she is the True Queen she was born to be! Muse has created this magical world of Kaeladia. Prepare for a fantastic adventure!

Not your run-of-the-mill shifter story. The character development of the h is well explained. I really liked the heartless and intentionally cruel character of the H. You just know he's gonna get his in the end. The feeling is that he's already reluctantly falling for the h, who is no doormat, just inexperienced. There are some truly dark moments and some really 🌶🌶🌶 moments. All well written. Can't wait for book #2.

A different werewolf novel
I've read many of Moonlight muse's works, all good! But this one does not follow the general outline. Disgraced or low rank female meets alpha and saves her (or brings out her powers to save). These are all powerful characters, not a lot of sniveling weaklings! Looking forward to book 2.

From start to end you are thrown loops and cliff hangers... while following a deep meaningful path both characters need to go on... as a plus to have them as lovers to enemies and then to actual partners by the end of book two is a rollercoaster that you carnt put down..

It’s hard to pick one book of Moonlight Muse’s to write a review on! All her books draw you in and keep you engaged. I chose this book because this one really had me on an emotional roller coaster. I loved the blending of the species in this book. There was character growth, story development and spicy scenes. I recommend this book to anyone that is into paranormal romances.

Muse is one of my all time favorite authors! This book was the only on that I had put off reading, but once I did, I have read it several times. This series is easily one of my favorite stories! Very much worth the read. Muse is a very talented writer, her work is fantastic! I very muse recommend this series!

🩷Loved this book!!! Moonlight Muse does not disappoint with incredible emotions attached to the storyline with plot twists and character building. This book is filled with emotions and betrayal leaving you with questions, can Theon be redeemed? Can this story progressive get any worse for these characters?!! Book one leaves many doors opened for book two!

Oh what a great read! I love the atmosphere that is created throughout this book together with all the plot twists and turns which keeps you on your toes. I love the world that has been created with this book and it’s all too easy for your imagination to run wild and be sucked into the story. Definitely recommend, go on, give it a go! 💖

This storyline was so compelling to the point where I didn’t want to put it down! This author deserves A LOT more hype! Not only is her storyline gripping, but her writing is so addictive! I love that we got to see Theon’s and Yileyna’s perspectives, as well as the struggles they had to face separately. Overall, I highly recommend this read!

This was an amazing journey with the perfect balance of love, lust, and action with a dose of redemption on the side. FL is a strong alpha queen that only bows to her king in the bedroom, and ML is a hot alpha that only shows his true feelings to his queen.

What a journey. This book captured my heart and got me all hot. From vengeance to redemption. From hate to love. The Call of the Sirens, the possessiveness of the Wolves. You won't be disappointed with this one. One of my all time favourites.

This is my favorite book from Moonlight Muse. If you want a book to bring out every single emotion you have this is the book. Her character deployment is amazing!!! All of her books are so good. It is a 10 out of 10!

This book was so unique and I my jaw dropped with the epic characters written. It was such a detour from the universe where many of my favorite characters live and yet I fell in love with the ML and FL - secretly hoping to see a sequel of some sort in the future!
