Alex, Rafe and Max Duncan live three very different lives, until one word changes everything.
Sundown.
The Duncan siblings know what that word means. The world is coming apart at the seams and it’s time to go to their Montana family home. However, there are miles of devastation and walking infected between them and the rest of their family.
Alex fights her way from Las Vegas, Nevada with her two children. As the infected begin to take hold, she must make decisions she hadn’t prepared herself for. But she’ll do whatever is necessary to protect her family and find her siblings.
Faced with the end of society, Max realizes there is a mistake she made that needs to be put right before everything collapses. With her daughter Jack, Max battles through the infected with her tomahawk and friends she picks up on the way.
At the epicenter of the infection, Rafe watches in horror as the plague travels across the world. When a doctor turns to him for help, he can’t seem to tell her no. Protecting her and the secrets they hold is one of his priorities, even though he just wants to find his sisters.
The complete Sundown Series, brought to you by author Courtney Konstantin, follows the Duncan family as they find a way to survive the zombie apocalypse. For the first time, all seven stories are in one place! Don’t miss this fast paced, terrifying, heart pounding series that takes no prisoners.
As a child, Courtney always had aspirations of being a writer. She participated in journalism in school. At home, she wrote short stories, poetry and filled diary pages. Somewhere along the line becoming an adult took priority over her writing and she went to work in business operations.
Now as a mother to three beautiful children, she tells them all the time to follow their dreams, be whatever they want. Those lessons reminded her how much she loved writing. She finally opened the door to making writing a real priority in her life.
Living outside of Portland, Oregon she loves the green and beauty Oregon offers. When she’s not matching wits with her children, her crazy Siberian Husky or her bi-polar cats, she enjoys binge reading, hikes and touring wineries. Courtney and her husband, the love of her life, enjoy traveling the world whenever they can get a free moment. And cruises….she loves cruising. She’s especially fond of life, laughter and sarcasm – and she’s excited to share all of that and more with her readers!
I have read many zombie series, some great, some good, and some not so good. This series, The Sundown Series, is one of the best ones I’ve had the pleasure to read. Courtney starts us off getting to know the Duncans, one by one, as things go horribly wrong. But one thing that was unique to this series is how these three siblings were raised. Their father not only saved their lives, but also those of most everyone this family ended up meeting. Well, that is the ones that weren’t entirely evil. There are some funny times in this dreadful life they have been dealt, there are some stressful scenes, massive action scenes, and sadness. The last chapter had me so choked up, it was hard to swallow the feelings down. That’s when you know the author has done their job well. When they can make you have those feelings through their written words alone. So, well done Courtney. Thank you for an amazing ride with Alex, Rafe and Max.
I LOVED this series! Writing a book (1-3) per sibling, I thought would be repetitive, I couldn’t have been more wrong. Not only does each have a completely different personality, backstory etc but their stories start off in different states with entirely different circumstances. By the time they were merged together in book 4 I was 100% invested and knew them well enough to be a the fourth Duncan sibling. 😂 These were recommended after I had finished reading Until The End Of The World books and of course Mordacious (The City) books also based on siblings. Those I also loved. Who knew I liked Zombie books?!
I'm on book one, and it is horribly written. The grammar is awful. You'd think a published book would have been proofread. My biggest issue with the story is that Alex's biggest priority is her children but she constantly makes dumb decisions that puts them at risk. She may be "prepared" but that's only because the author has made sure everyone else is dumber than the main character. She will hear a scream, run off to see who's screaming (probably a person getting eaten), and then realize "oh no, I left my kids" only to return to them surrounded by infected. I hope she gets eaten and replaced by a more competent survivor. I'm afraid there's no hope for the grammar though.
The characters are 3 dimensional, you don’t always like everything about them, but that makes them more human than fictional. Great stories, love and loss, survival. At certain points, I would have to take a break from reading and almost felt like I was surviving an apocalypse with them. Almost bought a survival bracelet and a leatherman utility tool. I even almost made a bug out bag. Cried for the characters that didn’t make it and cheered for every survivor and the victories.
I think this is, 1 of my top 5, apocalyptic books ever. I absolutely loved this series. I fell in love with each character, Alex, Max, Rafe, Griffin, Easton, Marcus, Cliff, Liam, Smith, Margaret and Issac. Some more than others, and did some serious sobbing at times. I was in complete shock at who didn't survive in the end, and I felt so taken back by my emotions from this series. I felt like I was in it with them and felt their losses and triumphs. I found a new author too! Read the series! I loved the length of it also. Kept me entertained from page 1.
Courtney Konstantin’s Sundown Series is an intense, heart‑pounding ride that balances action with raw emotion. What makes it stand out isn’t just the terrifying, fast‑paced apocalypse, but the deeply human story of the Duncan family, fierce, flawed, and bound by love. Through every desperate choice and haunting sacrifice, this series explores survival, loyalty, and the unbreakable strength of family. Utterly gripping from start to finish.
That was 6 of the best books/series I've ever read! I read a lot of times apocalypse series, and nothing has came close to these. I have laughed, cried, had to walk away because I was mad at a character. She puts you right there with them, and their joy, fear, anger, and heartbreak are yours too. Do yourself a favor and read the series. You won't be disappointed.
Thank you for writing such a great series of books. The details were strong but not overboard, reading to see the book was very enjoyable. The emotions, the descriptions and combined with the characters were very enjoyable and so realistic. Such a wonderful read about family, good hearts, and caring people in a world now surrounded without trust.
Well I was not expecting that heartbreak but I get it. People die in the apocalypse. I don't want to give too much away so I'll leave it at that. Would have loved to know what happened with the kids in California and the cure. Any chance of that. This was a great read. Unputdownable!!! Highly recommended.
I loved everything about these 6 books. But after spending 2 weeks with the Duncans, I won't read future books. You don't red shirt a main character! I read to escape and killing off a character I had grown to love felt like emotional assault. It was great, til it was awful. Over and out.
Dnf started out SO strong but then I think I made it to like…idk book 3 or 4 and it just became such a slog for me. Def enjoy the start of everything and do recommend it for those first two books at least!
This is the second time that I have read this series. I couldn't put it down! I loved every written word! I loved all of the characters and felt like I was with them during every struggle and triumph! Thank you!!!
I’ve read ALOT of zombie books. This series was amazing!!! I became enthralled with the characters and the story was brilliant. The character development was astounding and I was left feeling for each and every character.
This was a truly wonderful, emotional story. The story was gripping, intense and unpredictable. I truly loved the the characters and their story. Definitely recommend this series.
Was a decent book, but killed off the main character of the book. It goes way to long on inner conversations. And long descriptions of surrounding areas, like a tour guide
This story is more about family love for one another as much as it's about a world gone into chaos. I enjoyed every single episode and I wish it had more books.
This is one of my top 5 favorite apocalyptic series. Courtney spends so much time on developing the characters that you really feel like you get to know them. There is excitement, heartbreak, humor...it has it all. It's a definite must read if you like zombie thrillers. I bought them both in ebook and print form because I loved this series so much.
