Innocent Brides #3

Ravaged Innocence

Rate this book
He didn't come for me just to make me scream his name. He came to make me his.

When Luka Romanov burst into the bar where I work to take care of some mafia business, I was still an innocent virgin. I woke up the next morning sore, spent, and feeling much less innocent.

He tracked me down to punish me for trying to run from him, but it wasn't just his hard hand reddening my bare bottom that left me soaking wet and ready to be ruthlessly claimed. I was breathless and desperately in need the moment he pinned me to the wall and kissed me.

Then he carried me off to his penthouse to show me what it means to belong to a man like him.

Because he isn't just going to ravage me. He's going to keep me.

Publisher's Note: Ravaged Innocence is a stand-alone novel which is the third book of the Innocent Brides series. It includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

This is Measha Stone's latest BDSM romance between a Russian mafia man and an "innocent" American woman. And that's pretty much all you need to know because aside from mafia machinations featuring characters from past books, there's absolutely no plot here.

I would say that if you're looking for almost pure erotica between a woman who isn't a complete doormat and a man who isn't that harsh and does care about her, you might like this; it certainly has fewer grammatical errors and typos than this author's work usually does.

For me the warp-speed insta-love took any tension out of the relationship (as insta-love is wont do to), leaving nothing between the couple but sex scenes -- even the epilogue is . I'll also add that just once in these books when the man says “Would you rather I shove my cock in your ass without properly stretching you first? I can, and I will, but you won’t enjoy it as much, and I want you to enjoy it,” I'd like to see the woman answer: "Sure. I mean you'll cause anal fissures that produce pain, bleeding, and infection severe enough to send me to the hospital. But, whatev, babe, I guess that's love."

3 stars.

3.5 stars!

“When I was a little boy, my mama told me I’d find a woman one day that will steal me for good. That I will move heaven and earth to keep her safe, just like my father did for her.” He kisses the spot just behind my ear. “She was right, Pchelka. And I’ve found her.”

Ravaged Innocence is the third book in the Innocent Brides series and features Luka and Avery. Luka, a Russian mafia assassin, sees Avery in a bar when the Russians are approaching a potential enemy and he takes her aside to protect her. But protecting her turns into Luka wanting Avery forever and Avery, while not a doormat, is not immune to his charms.

There is some push and pull, a whole lot of Dom/sub vibes, punishments/spankings, degradation and praise, and a HEA. While not unlike the other stories in this series, it still reads as an enjoyable dark erotica novel. Just don't go into this expecting consent, rainbows and butterflies, and realism. Overall, I enjoyed this smutty adventure but I also love the dirty and darker side of romance.

ARC REVIEW
rate: 2,5

Ravaged Innocence written by Measha Stone was my first contact with the author's writing, and I didn't really like the way she developed the narrative and characters. Measha has a cohesive writing and at the beginning of the story the book was moving in a very fluid way and then it became quite monotonous. Measha Stone didn't develop her mafia very well, leaving many in-universe elements out of the story.

Avery is a very interesting character and had a medium development. Some elements of her personality, feelings and thoughts were not properly explored, and I, while reading, missed them a lot.

Luka was a shallow character, several elements of his personality, thoughts and feelings were also left aside, leaving a character that had everything to be deep, becoming empty and uninteresting.

Another element that let me down a lot was the romance. There was a lack of chemistry between the couple, there was a lack of domestic scenes, there was a lack of scenes with breathtaking declarations. Avery and Luka start to get involved very quickly, and I don't like that in a story.

Such a great story, Luka may be a mafia hit man but he is so loveable And is more of a rogue than the monster he claims to be. Avery knows what he is but loves him anyway and just seeing him makes her want him and boy are they hot together. Their dialogue is funny and sweet and when Avery stumbles, over the words Luka wants her to say it is so cute. Loyalty is so important in the mafia world and betrayal cuts deep as Avery and especially Luka, find out but they are able to overcome it and the ending is perfect.

This was a quick read, stand-alone, no cheating and HEA. 5/5 for spice but 2/5 for plot and character connection.

Whenever a new book by this author comes out, I always drop whatever I'm doing to dive in.
I love this network of intertwined families, and Luca and Avery's story knocked the ball out of the park.
These mafia men are protective, a little bit arrogant, and a whole lot lovable. There's the right amount of kink and affection mixed in, with the addition of action, drama, and some witty dialogue.
If you like mafia romance, you'll love Ravaged Innocence.

I like how fiesty Avery is. She fights back against Luka frequently and doesn't just take crap from him lying down. It doesn't always work out well for her, but she keeps trying, whether she loves him or not. She's also not going to let get away with brushing her off. I think that she is really strong, and I really her.

I mostly like Luka. There are times when I think that he's a little high handed. But I think that about a lot of characters that I like. I think the fact that I do feel that way about him shows how well Measha Stone wrote him.

I look forward to more books in the future.

Luka is a mafia man who isn't all hard inside, and I fell for his OTT alpha nature from the jump. Avery is a beautiful innocent girl that Luka meets, and decides that he's going to make her his. Of course he doesn't start his "courtship" out in a normal way, nope, he keeps her in a room for her protection, and you already know this isn't going to go over well since she's an independent girl LOL! Despite this slight issue, their chemistry is smokin' HOT, and the more time they spend together, the more feelings develop. However, Avery is a target, and let me tell you, Luka will burn the world down to keep her safe but the mafia world isn't for the weak. So besides the heat, there are twists to keep me on my toes, and the emotional component makes it easier to not only imprint on these two, but made me feel things so yeah, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Luka is a member of the Bratva and is assigned to keep Avery away from a private meeting that they are having in the bar where she works. Her ability to escape his protection only makes her that much more enticing and isn’t about keeping her captive until she feels the same way.

Avery is trying to balance school and paying her bills, so she doesn’t need more complications in her life. She is attracted to him and everything he does to her, but can she trust him with her heart and her life?

The characters balance each other to perfection and the chemistry is undeniable as despite their very different lives there is no denying they belong together.

I’m a lover of this series and this book is just another reason why. Yet again, this author made me fall in love with the characters, Luka and Avery. Luka is all alpha and deliciously sexy and Avery is all innocence and beauty. So when these two meet, while under unusual circumstances, I just knew they would be perfect for each other. Luka shows Avery, I’m his own way, that she is made for him. It does take quite a bit of convincing as Avery is an independent young woman. But slowly, Luka starts to break down her walls and have feelings for him.

When outside forces threaten Avery, Luka will do anything in his power to protect her. I loved their interactions, making me laugh at times with how Avery pushes Luka’s buttons. And their chemistry is unreal! Absolutely smoking hot! Words can’t say how much you need to read this series and this story. Absolute perfection!

I’ve read the first 2 books of this series and loved them. Luca and Avery had me laughing at their banter, fanning myself at their chemistry, and so much more. I can’t help but want more!!

I love this book even though I'm not normally a big fan of mafia Romances, but I couldn't help but fall in love with Lukas high handed, kinky dominant nature and Averys reluctant warrior spirit.
I didn't want to put it down.
Highly recommended.

What a great read. This is the third book in the series and each seem to get better. They met when Luca is trying to keep Avery in the back room and safe. Luca works as a hit man for the mafia but her wants to keep that from Avery. There love life is off the charts. Avery gets her share of spanking but she loves Luca and he loves her. I received an ARC for an honest review which I have given.

Well that was a surprise. it’s still mostly sex, but we had descriptions of people, and a bit of a plot.

Luka and Avery meet when he’s doing a contract for the Romonov family. He soon takes over her life and dominates her. I hate to admit it but I found him really really hot, and the way that he talks to Avery is so sexy. Avery is a medical student and works three jobs to fund her college. Avery is far from a pushover and fights him at every step. I loved her.

Sadly that’s all I can really say about this book. It’s hot and sexy, and there is no plot! There’s a tiny tiny bit of one later in the book then it’s over really quick. At least the author fleshed out Avery and Luka. We had actual ages of them both. Still don’t know much about Luka though. Is his mum and dad alive? Does he have brothers and sisters?

One final point, and it’s a massive huge complaint. If you’re going to write about a*al sex. Please be careful how you do it. He could have damaged her internally thrusting in like that.

Still enjoyed it though. I’m a bit shocked. Now, do I leave the series on a high or do I try another one?……. Hmmmm

I can’t help be left feeling disappointed by this book. The blurb for Ravaged Innocence hooked me and I did really like the characters and how, despite her fear Avery didn’t cower before Luka but I’ve been left feeling that I’ve only read half a book and what I did read seemed to be a repeat cycle of Avery swearing at Luka, only for Luka to spank her before they have mad, passionate sex. Luka’s career choice of Bratva hitman is almost irrelevant to the story and anything that happened relating to his job or the mafia occurred off-page so to speak. For me this element of the book could’ve been developed so much more and been an actual part of the story especially considering Luka’s reason for being in the US does eventually impact on his relationship with Avery to the extent of putting her life in danger. I know this is the third book in the Innocent Brides series so maybe there’s a lot more background but I’m not sure if I’ll be reading them to find out.

Last book of 2022. Yay!

All in all, it was fine, nothing special. If you really like insta love, then you'll enjoy this. Otherwise it doesn't really have what I thought was a coherent story and involved quite a few names I know nothing about. Read it if you'd like, but know that there's no true substance to this story.

This story line moved way too fast in the beginning. Most books of this genre are unrealistic but this one was ridiculous. This one was not for me.

I really enjoyed Luka and Averys story! Luka literally became a moth to a flame the moment Avery didn’t fall to his feet and fought back at his every gesture and that banter alone was amusing to read especially when Luka decided cause of her annoyance of him that he would pursue her harder but when circumstances change so does a lot more for them. Super enjoyable

OMG! I have just found a new author who knows how to tell a story with tons and tons of heat, heart, and suspense and her name is Measha Stone! Ms. Stone’s latest novel, Ravaged Innocence, is the 3rd story in the Innocent Brides series and it is a page-turner that I could not put down once I started reading. It is the story of Luca Romanov, a Russian mafia boss who takes what he wants when he wants something, and Avery Lewis, the object of Luca’s attention, an innocent young woman who was in his line of sight one night while she was working one of her three jobs. One look at Avery and Luca’s vision became myopic, only able to focus on her and the unrelenting desire that suddenly consumed his mind and body for this beautiful woman. I absolutely loved Ms. Stone’s writing style that brought the gist of this novel to the forefront on the very first page! Page one, there was Avery and in walked Luca, who saw her and instantly knew she was his. Then Luca took action that instantly followed his desire. Ms. Stone has shattered the slow-burn glass-ceiling standard common in the majority of romance novels and that writing technique was so unique but satisfying that I will now have trouble reading anything that is not set forth in this same direct and immediate manner. Ms. Stone did not skimp on the details that normally take an author the first five chapters to establish in a slow-burn formatted novel, she just ingeniously started the novel with the action and then wove those “dets” into the story as it unfolded. No boring or drawn-out chapters of background to establish who the protagonists are and how they came to exist in the moment they meet, no, just a seamlessly integrated peppering of salient facts as the action occurs. My mind immediately thought of all the novels I have read and how much more impactful they would have been had their authors utilized Ms. Stone’s technique! Unfortunately, Ms. Stone’s novel Ravaged Innocence, has now ruined me for all other authors! This one is a keeper!

This is part of the Innocent Brides series each book can be read as a standalone with a sexy mafia man and the girl he chooses to be his with or without her okay. so, buckle up this is a wild ride, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, so gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love (ALL THINGS TO EXPECT FROM THE MAFIA WORLD). By the time you’ve figured out who is who and what is what, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter!
CAN’T SAY YOU WEREN’T WARNED!!!!! Avery working in a bar to help pay for school as well as keep a roof over her head when the head of the Bratva steps in putting a ripple into her plans, her life as one of the men grabs her in the name of protection, taking her in the name of protection, and locking her in a room in the name of protection of course she fights him every step of the way. Luka sexy as all get out Bratva isn’t in the business of hurting the innocent so before anything can happen to the innocent cutie he grabs her to keep her safe but of course she runs but she must not have taken into account who he is and he is coming for her. The moment he takes her the attraction is instant, it is intense, and the magnetic pull is there it can’t be ignored but she fights him, she fights for the life she made for herself and can’t understand why she loves everything he does and if honest with herself she doesn’t want him to stop but will she accept her fate, stop all the fighting, will he be honest with the way he feels about her, will she get her normalcy back and will they find happiness on their adventure?.

It includes spanking, rough intense sexual scenes, kinks, pain and pleasure, dominance, submission, BDSM, dirty talking, danger, lust violence, danger, twists and turns, emotions, tensions, passion, steam, action packed, surprises, threats, and love. The story is beautifully written with extraordinary characters and a fascinating storyline that grabs your attention from start and keeps you hooked and invested and turning the pages until the end. Ravaged Innocence, Innocent Brides book e by Measha Stone, narration by Jay Alder and Kylie Stewart
I bought this audiobook.
Now because I listened to the audio books, please forgive any misspelled names. LOL I want to say I think Jay and Kylie did a great job with the narration in the story. I enjoyed the way they brought the characters to life. I really loved the Russian accents they used for these characters.
Avery, we meet at the bar when Arman, in book 2, comes to get information from Mario. We see Luka take interest in the feisty waitress trying to help her boss and bar patrons. He takes her home and immediately needs more from this crazy woman. She is on her own and independent. Luka is the assassin for the family. He is only here in the states for a job but the little waitress he can’t seem to get out of his head.
Their story seemed to have a lot more sex filler, which I know some people love, but I find to be a bit tiring. I did enjoy their story and how they fell in love hard and fast for the other. They both are so scared to admit things and so of course things happen. Avery kept her fire and Luks did hide like a coward for a bit. But when he admits his fault, they have a great HFN.
I did like the story, but the sex filler left me bored at time. I mean I love sexy times but I felt like every chapter was a sexy time. 27 chapters it gets as smidge redundant. I am looking forward to starting book 4 with Mandy and Maxim.

Luka Romanov is not a man to mess with. In the other two books, he seems more cold blooded and unfeeling. But that is not what we see in here. Avery is at the wrong place at the wrong time. She isn’t about to let what she saw cause her any issues. She has a human anatomy test to pass. Not to mention she doesn’t need the Russian mob after her. But Luka seeing the fire in Avery. He isn’t about to let her go. When he punishes her for her cursing and running from him, arousal sparks. I love this series. Luka is never really in the states long. He only is sent here to do a job and then leave. But with Avery, she changes all that. There is just something about her that draws him in. He can’t get enough. Avery knows he is a bad man and she should stay as far away as she can. Well, she did try. Luka brings out all the naughtiness in her but he is also making her feel and that isn’t good. With him she could lose her heart. I do love the feisty spirit she has. She doesn’t back down from him. And at times when she thinks they aren’t a match, it breaks my heart. I can see her just looking at everything and saying, she doesn’t belong. She does tell Luka he could find someone better. It shows the intense feelings he has for her.

We also can’t trust all the players in the story. We know Niko and Maxim but there are a few that I was leery about. They gave off the wrong vibe. I teared up during part of the story and felt heart hurt. I loved it. I hope we get to find out who will draw in Maxim from his brooding and give him a run for his money. We still have Billie and Roman too.

This book is about another alpha, possessive Romanov man named Luka. While helping out with a job he runs into a woman named Avery in a bar. Avery has no issues talking back to Luke and fighting with him. Nobody ever speaks to Luka the way she does, and he loves it, this tiny woman isn't afraid of him. Luka immediately wants Avery, but she runs. Luka is a Romanov though so of course he will find out everything he needs to know about Avery. Luka wants Avery with him all the time and to take care of her and provide her with all she needs. She has so much to learn sexually from him, and she quickly realizes how much she likes being spanked. What they have is passionate and got emotional quick and that was scary for both of them. Avery made sure Luka knew not to hurt her, but Luka wasn't good with feelings and of course will do something that hurts Avery, but we will still get an HEA. I enjoyed reading this couple and what they go through, my only complaint is that it ended to quickly I wanted more! There are other characters from the previous books mentioned and I'm curious if we will be reading about another couple in the future.

"When I was a little boy my mama told me I'd find a woman one day that will steal me for good. That I will move heaven and earth to keep her safe just like my father did for her." He kisses the spot just behind my ear. "She was right, Pchelka. And I've found her."

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

She wasn't the target I was sent to New York to take out, but then suddenly everything changed...

This is a Mafia Romance and the story of Luca and Avery. He is a mafia hit man and she is sweet and innocent. These two meet under the most not normal circumstances when he keeps her in a back room to keep her safe and she has not a clue why he is keeping her there or what is going on. The attraction between these two is instant and smoking hot. He does not want her to know what he does for a living. She is reluctant and he shows her in his own way just exactly why he is is the most perfect man on the face of the earth for her. But being the strong independent woman that she is it really is a job for Luca to convince her that they are a perfect match. I loved though how he broke down her walls. It might have been a slow process but he really had me living for those moments between the two of them. They are pure fire together and I just absolutely loved these moments between the two of them. However there are outside forces that are about to threaten Avery and Luca is willing to burn down the world if he has to to keep her safe. This book will have you reading well into the night and you will not be able to put it down. It has all the feels and spice and was just a really perfect read!!

Russian mobster Luka Romanov heads into a bar and has one job - grab waitress Avery Lewis and take her in the back room to keep her safe during a mob meeting. The minute Avery fights him, Luka is smitten kitten, and from that moment on, Luka is stuck to Avery like glue. While Avery finds this annoying at first, after a few days, she’s smitten right back. So what’s the issue? Avery believes deep down that Luka is going to return to Russia and abandon her. After both their lives are put in jeopardy, Luka believes he’s not good enough for Avery. What will it take for these two to find a happily ever after instead of just a happy right now?

I enjoyed this book so much. The bickering between Avery and Luka is so entertaining. On paper, Luka and Avery don’t make sense, but together, they are happy. The world building continues from the past books in the series and continues to be great. I would enjoy seeing more of the characters from previous books, but that’s a minor quibble. Avery and Luka make this a book worth reading!

Ravaged Innocence is book three in the Innocent Brides series by Measha Stone. It can be read as a standalone, but you’ll enjoy it more if you read the other books first. Please let me know if you read - I’d love to discuss!

Ultra-Possessive Rogue meets Innocent College Student

This is the third book in the Innocent Brides series, so here we go!

Even though this is a five-star read, it didn’t quite hit the same notes as the first two did for me. My initial impression was that the hero and heroine seem to have swapped roles compared to the first two. Where Avery is sweet, Luke is hard.

Avery is a lot more submissive (compared to Charlie and Anya from Books 1 & 2), and the insta-love between her and Luke really threw me off here. Then there are the red flags galore that she keeps ignoring in favor of great sex! Come on, girl! I guess that is why the series is called Innocent Brides - we finally got one.

On the other hand, Luke is as possessive and shallow as they come. He is also a stubborn yet loveable rogue, which is to be expected with a man of his statute. Their chemistry is off the charts though, something I know to expect from Measha and something she always delivers on.

Anya is still my favorite though! As always, pay attention to the trigger warnings.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Wow! Just Wow! I am loving this series and this just might be edging out the first two books as my fav! Luka is one tall, dark, sexy, and intense man! Avery didn’t stand a chance not to fall for him.

Luka is an assassin for the Romanov family (Mafia) and Avery is just a college student trying to make her way through school and life. From the minute he steps into the bar that she is working at – both of their lives take a turn. He wants her like…now…right now – but she gets away from him. However, you cannot hide from Luka! He is not sure Avery belongs in world, but he is a selfish man and wants her regardless.

Luka and Avery’s story has it all – spice, heat, mafia dealing, kidnappings, etc and I was firmly planted in my chair during the entire read! So glad this series was recommended to me by a friend! So, friend-to-friend…. I recommend this series! Start it today!!!

Publisher's Note: Ravaged Innocence is a stand-alone novel which is the third book of the Innocent Brides series. It includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.
