Ella Cooper has written a 5-star book. This is the continued story of Annie and Duke. To get the full backstory of Annie and Duke, you will have needed to read the first three books. At the end of book 3, Duke is called and told that his mother is in the hospital. He and his brother Dakota were told that their mother was sick and her organs were shutting down and the doctors didn't know why. She is now in a medical coma until the doctor can find out what is going on. Duke doesn't want to think Dakota had something to do with hurting their mom but he is a drug addict and had been wanting some money from her. Annie and Duke were told by the doctor that his mother had been poisoned but he doesn't know by what poison. Annie is not sure that he can deal with a new relationship with everything that is going on in his life at the moment. She has things that she has to work through in her life. She is trying to build a relationship with her mother who she thought had left her as a child and didn't care about her at all. When Mary is released from the hospital, they are told she would need someone with her 24/7 so Beth, Annie's mom fixes a place for her out at the ranch. Annie has offered to stay with Mary while Duke works. Duke is working and Dakota comes up to him and wants to see their mother. Duke doesn't want Dakota to be anywhere near their mother but Annie tells him that if something happened to her he would feel sorry for not letting Dakota see her. She also tells him that she would not leave Dakota alone with their mother. Annie is having a hard time with what is going on and needs someone to talk to. She decides to talk to her mother. Annie tells her what she is feeling and Beth tells her that she has to figure things out for herself. Duke goes to talk to Annie but all her things are gone and he goes to talk to Beth to see if she knows what is going on. While he is talking to Beth Dalton calls him and tells him he needs to get back to his mother, she has taken a turn for the worse.
Has Annie left Duke for good or just to think things through?
What will happen to Mary? Will she pull through from the poisoning?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Oh my gosh, this just keeps getting stranger and stranger. Duke’s mother - Mary has been released from the hospital, she is staying at the ranch, with someone with her at all times, the doctor finally pin pointed someone or something is poisoning her and hopefully she can overcome it without any damage but only time will tell and it could still go either way. Dakota is still under suspicion as far as Duke is concerned and Duke is absolutely not willing to give an inch with Dakota and blames him for everything. The neighbor to Mary - Scott is downright sneaky suspicious. Duke finally gets back to the ranch, discovers Annie is no where to be found and all of her luggage is gone, Duke is beside himself when Dalton bursts into the main house and tells Duke he has to get to the apartment over the barn where his mom is staying, Mary has taken a turn for the worse! Yes of course “The End” of Part Four. Oh my word I can’t wait! Annie needs to get back where she belongs… Mary has to be ok… Dakota has to be on the up and up and clean like he is telling everyone. Book Five can’t get here fast enough. I received an Advance Reader's Copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest thoughts and opinions.

Another great read in the story of Annie and Duke. This one focuses on Duke, his mother and how Annie is supporting Duke and her evolving relationship with her mother. We pick up with Annie and Duke waiting to find out what is going on with his mom who has been taken to the hospital where the staff is trying to figure out what is going on with Mary. Once she is released they bring her to stay at Beth's. (where Annie and Duke each have a place). That way someone can always be around to look out for her. Dakota comes to visit his mom even though Duke would rather he stay away. The doctors believe Mary has been poisoned and no one has any idea how this has happened. Duke has his suspicions, though there is no evidence as to who has done it. Annie wonders that with all that Duke is dealing with if it would be better to head back to New York. We are left with a cliffhanger or two. Where is Annie? Duke returned for town and can't seem to find her and what happened to cause Mary to have to return to the hospital? I can't wait to find out more in part 5.

The saga continues in part four where they discovered that Duke's mother had been poisoned. The doctor feels she will make a full recovery, but in the mean time, she would be staying in one of the apartments near Duke and Annie at the ranch. Duke's brother disappeared for a few days during this time. Duke and Annie were getting along better than ever. Then Annie felt like a new relationship was to much with everything else going on for Duke with his mom and brother so she just up and left with no good by to anyone. Now Duke's mom has taken a turn for the worst, and he has been left a drift. Annie was able to calm him so easily. How will he make it without her? We will have to wait for book five to see what happens. Edge of your chair drama in action.

AAAAHHHHH, Ella, you left me hanging with Duke and Annie/ Dakota/ mom. Hurry up and get book 5 out I need some resolution here. Annie is struggling and is not doing the most responsible thing in the world. Not happy with her right now. Duke needs her, she is his rock, and she should know that by now. Dalton is still a question as to if he is a bad guy yet or just an average guy with a really well deserve bad reputation right now. Mom is struggling with her sickness and is really weighing on everyone as to what will happen to her. This one is difficult as there are so many moving parts that mostly surround Duke. His shoulders are sagging under the huge burden he is carrying for all of it right now. He needs his Annie back in his arms to make a small part of his world right again. Ella get the next one out ASAP.

This is book four of six, told in parts that leave you in a cliffhanger with minimal amount of time between each release. Told in first person POV from the main male and female characters. This story is really heating up with chemistry, confusion, heartache, healing, second chances and mystery.

Things are heating up with Duke and Annie, but things are also taking a turn for Duke’s mother. While Annie is still struggling on how to handle everything she is learning and feeling, Duke is struggling to do the right thing by his mother and show Annie how he truly feels.

I can’t wait to see what else happens between these two and the side characters. This definitely has me on the edge of my seat!

Heavenly Cowboy: An Opposites Attract Cowboy Romance Book 4 of Ranch Escape finds us at the hospital with Dukes mom, she’s being poisoned. Between Dukes drama with his brother and Annie finding out the truth about her dad, things are very stressful. Dukes mom comes to the ranch to recuperate. Duke will do whatever he can to keep his brother away from his mom. Annie starts to panic and instead of talking to Duke she runs. Will she come back and if she does will Duke forgive her? Dukes mom takes a turn for the worse again, will she survive? These cliffhangers are killing me. I love this storyline and the characters but I don’t love cliffhangers. I would definitely recommend this book and the series.

So many things are coming to light and still so many secrets and twists that we need answers to. Annie and Duke have been trying to make their new relationship work while trying to help his mother with her sickness and Annie trying to patch the relationship with her mother and family. They are both falling in love with each other but will that be enough. When Annie feels it's too much will see run or see things through. Will Duke feel abandoned or understand where Annie is coming from. when things are getting tense and rough once again things take a turn for the worse again. This book was intense and suspenseful all the way through your mind is twisting trying to figure things out. I can't wait to see where things are headed next. I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.

His mother home from the hospital and staying at the ranch to recuperate, Duke reluctantly agrees to allow Dakota a visit with her, albeit supervised.

So Annie and her mom Beth stay while that happens. Afterwards, the two women have a conversation and lives are uprooted once more because of a decision that Annie makes. Is it an accurate or is it one made simply from fear?

Duke is beyond reason with his brother’s return and refuses to listen/believe what Dakota says. So angry that he takes drastic steps to keep him away.

Not to mention that no one can fathom what is causing Mary (mom) to look so frail and ill.

This seemed more of a set-up for book five to me, but I still enjoyed it.

Mary is out of the hospital and staying at the ranch. It is still unknown whether or she will survive from the poisoning. Dakota comes, Scott is acting suspicious and Annie makes a decision. Will Mary survive? What decision did Annie make? What a heart-felt story of pain and emotion. The characters came alive on the page. You can feel what they are going through. The author kept my attention and interest throughout the entire book so much I had a hard time putting the book down. I look forward to the next book in the series.

This is the continuation of the story of Annie and Duke. These are short novellas but to get the story you will have to read the prior books (don't worry, they are short and it shouldn't take you that long!).
Duke's mother has been getting worse and now is hospitalized. The doctors figure out that she has been poisoned, but no one is sure where the poison would have come from. Duke, of course, suspects his brother Dakota of being the one who poisoned her. He hasn't been around recently, so he hasn't been able to confront him. Annie worries that because he's taking care of his mother, they won't be able to have a good relationship.

Duke’s mom, Mary, is in the hospital in an induced coma. The doctors figure out that Mary was poisoned. She was able to come home from the hospital. Duke and Annie persuaded her to stay at the ranch in the downstairs apartment so they can keep an eye on her. She is supposed to have someone there 24/7.

Who poisoned Mary? Is Duke’s brother Dalton involved? Will Duke figure out who is hanging out at the cave on his mother’s property? Will Annie extend her stay or go back to New York?

I can’t wait for book 5 because we have more questions than answers.

We continue to follow Annie and Duke’s story in Heavenly Cowboy. With everything Duke is dealing with at the moment he is very grateful to have Annie's support. Annie continues to reconnect with her mother, but Annie starts thinking with everything that is going on, is it all too much to start a new relationship. Can’t wait to read the next instalment.

Duke feels stressed with his mum’s poor health and his brother’s out of rehab. All of that is getting to Annie too and she wonders if her relationship is strong enough to survive all this stress.

On the way to the airport, Duke and Annie are almost in an accident but return to the ranch instead. She’s still digesting the truth about her mom and dad. Duke helps her through this process. His brother is back in town, which is never a good thing.

Duke is very protective of his mom and she is very ill only it’s not what the doctors originally thought. It seems to be one event after another and it may just be too much for Annie. The relationship is so new and there is so much going on that could either make or break it. And now Annie is missing.

Oh Annie, Annie, Annie!! Unbelievably disappointed in Annie running away, it does feel very cowardly. Duke has so much going on, and she bails. I really hope she has to work hard for forgiveness when the time comes. I genuinely think Dakota is clean, and definitely an uneasy feeling about Scott. I can't wait for the next installment, I do love me a cliffhanger.

This is the fourth book of the series, and yet again it's a page turner. Story remains to go at a good pace and makes for an easy read with a cliffhanger ending. Highly recommend Ella Cooper books
