This is the second book I have read from Jenni Rempel,I really enjoy the history (even the parts I already knew) and explanations on each plant and uses. I want to have a greenhouse built to grow the plants that we can’t normally grow in our climate. I also want to add on to our garden and have more of an herb garden. I am just waiting on getting house renovations done and a few trees removed in order to have the space built for it. I’m starting small at the moment since I don’t have a drip irrigation system set up for it. I am currently growing quite a few herbs that I dry and then grind into powder. I place them in labeled glass jars (mostly recycled) and they are in shelves blocked from the sunlight in my kitchen. I enjoy the fact that most of the plants mentioned I am not allergic to as there are numerous ones mentioned in other herbal books that I am allergic to. Plenty of references at the end and a few recipes for meals to try.

Jenni Rempal creates another insightful self care manual with
Forgot the Pharmacy Grow Your Own Medicine The Homesteaders Ultimate Self Sufficient Guide To Grow Herbs, Craft Natural Remedies and Treat Common Health, & First Aid Illness Proactively. She provides a thorough breakdown of roughly 40 to 50 herbs with descripted details on the best method of use. Additionally, heavy warnings of possible medication interactions, what may be dangerous, and always community with your medical professional warnings. I applaud Jenni Rempal on her dedication to balance scientific research with homeopathic applications, while using non academic language.
Jenni Rempal book works well with Read Aloud and other types of accessible technology. All words and numbers used do coincide with what has been written. I highly recommend that you purchase hard physical copies of Rempal's book for easy referencing back too.

Jenni Rempel specializes in books about growing your herbs. While they’re all pretty similar, the organization and utilization purposes of each varies. This one doesn’t dwell as much on how to grow your own herbs, but more on what to do with them. This book is divided into chapters based on certain conditions, like heart disease and diabetes, and which herbs can be beneficial. It was pretty enlightening to see that there are home remedies (not that I’d forego medical advice and assistance, but a little extra help can’t be a bad thing) available for such hefty medical problems. This book has been eye-opening, and while a full-blown herb garden might not be in my immediate future, I will definitely look into fresh herbs more in my daily diet. This is a great resource for anybody interested in incorporating fresh herbs into their lives.

Excellent book one of the best, I’ve read in a long time

I have many herbals in my bookcase. I’ve been using herbs for years and often make medicinal tinctures This is an excellent book. I wish I had it years ago it would’ve been so useful then it will be useful still but I am a pensioner now I could’ve done with this when I was younger I think this book should be on everyone’s bookcase, especially if you’re interested in this sort of thing, and I read this book on kindle, but I will be buying a hardcopy as I have many books in my book cases. I only buy hardcopies if I think they are excellent.

I'm not one for leaving reviews very often, but I have to share how easy it has been to read, understand, and grasp the information and concepts she has shared in this book. It has really helped the beginner in me to feel much more confident on my path towards ditching the pharmacy. She really does a nice job breaking it all down, without all the extra complications of advanced jargon. You won't regret the time you spend reading and, if like me, will reference again and again.
