Michelle Burrow fell hard for Johnny "Reaper" Holmes as a teen. She brought back more than memories of her trip to New Freedom with her. She carried his unborn child. Life has a way of doing that to you, changing your plans for the future. Michelle moved on with her life without him, without the help of her parents, with no one. Raising Elle by herself was hard, but not only did she raise an amazing woman, Chelle became the successful artist that she had always dreamed of.
Don’t get too comfortable with life, it can change on a dime. Hadn’t she learned that by now? The search for her daughter finds her right back where everything started, involved with the Unfortunate Souls MC. It doesn’t matter how many times she leaves Illinois, something pulls her back.
Ruger Neroni and Reaper Holmes were best friends. Hell, they started the club together after their time in the army. There wasn’t anything they wouldn’t do for each other. Fulfilling a dying wish was not as easy when other people's lives hang in the balance. Ruger gave his word, though.
While trying to adjust to endings and new beginnings, can two people find a friendship that they desperately need? Will friendship turn into love? Follow Stacks and Ruger on their journey to find out.
While it may be possible to read this alone, the story will flow much better with the knowledge of detailed events in book one, Benelli's Elle.
After reading Benelli's Elle THIS is the book I was waiting for! I wanted more of the Reaper, Ruger and Michelle story and these authors didn't disappoint. I love their journey and even though it's tragic this couple shares so much including their love for a friend who only wanted them to be happy.
Loved these two together. Some drama in the beginning but lots of paste and sticks from the previous book. My only question is, why write about the man from the plane and the break-in but dont resolve it for us?
Ok so I love these guys and girls. The second one is as good or better than the first. My gratitude to the writers Debbie and Leslie they are wordsmiths at their finest. Cant wait to see who is next in the MC to get caught.
The book starts out with Reaper and Michelle before Elle was born. It’s so cool to get the back story. The rest of the book is how Michelle was finally able to move on after his death. I love Rugers character. I can’t wait the next book about Phoenix!!!!
Stack'd Against Ruger continues the Unfortunate Souls MC story. As with Benelli's Elle, you fall in love with the characters and their lives. You root for them to have their happily ever after. I enjoyed Michelle and Ruger begin older during the majority of the story. I also loved the epilogue. If you read MC romance, Stack'd Against Ruger needs to be added to your reading list.
Stack'd Against Ruger is book 2 in the Unfortunate Souls MC series by Debbie Mitchell and Leslie Staffey. They proved once again they can write a good MC book. I loved that Ruger and Michelle were older. Older certainly doesn't mean boring to our authors! There were some funny moments, the revisiting of old friends, scorching hot scenes and still they did not loose the gritty MC action. I will be waiting patiently for the next book in this awesome series. Kudos!!
I‘m irresistibly drawn to books about mature couples, people who have seen life, been broken and put back together a few times and are still standing strong. I love it because I know that couple will last the years, that couple will weather the many storms of married life and that couple will watch their children’s children grow and love every minute of that time. This book the perfect example of that.
Loved Michelle and Ruger's story. A friendship that turns to love. Promises were made, people have passed and the pull of something more than friendship. The the dynamics if the club and family. Great story, loved learning about the past.
I absolutely love Ruger - he’s a great Dad, protective biker, good man, what’s not to love??? Michelle….I’m going to be honest - I didn’t like the character in book 1 of the series and my dislike grew more in this book. I can’t stand women who keep children from the fathers for absolutely no reason other than their own nonsense. She denied her daughter and the father a relationship their entire lives and then lamented on being a single mother. I just can’t. Because of that, I just couldn’t get into this book.
Yet an other page turner of two incredible writers. Going against the idea that mc’s are most of the time some kind of bad in a way, they turn it around. It goes together with the first book, elle’s mom trying to overcome everything that life throws her way, trying to build a friendship going along but realizing it’s love and she learns she can allow herself to be happy again.
Age Gap, Funny, Spicy, This book had multiple POV's. First, you get the back story of Reaper/Michelle. Young love, and making a place in the world for yourself. Then, it goes to present. Ruger/Stacks. He's honoring his best friends dying wish, and she just wants to be friends. They both catch feelings. Him first. Secrets, drama, breakdowns, smexy scenes... another hit. I love how she weaves in other characters. OMG I about died with Lucky's Thanksgiving! Too funny!
This book was okay it’s the second in the series and tells Ruger and Michelle’s story. I enjoyed the story but really it’s just another version of the first book, not a lot of new information at least not until the last 20 percent of the book. Reading the blurb for the next book, it looks like the authors did the same thing there, so I won’t be continuing the series.
Michelle meets Ruger when at the age of 18 she falls in love with his President Reaper. Flash forward 22 years Michelle returns to find her and Reaper's daughter to walk in on chaos. Reaper dies in her arms, her daughter is raped and Ruger is her support. Their journey goes from friendship to love. Their past is let go, their children fall in love also. I loved how the authors explained their past to bring them to a wonderful present.
Stack'd Against Ruger is book 2 in The Unfortunate Souls MC series. This book does a good job of including the first book in this story. We get to see the relationship between Michelle and Ruger grow. These characters have good chemistry from the start. This book is definitely for readers who are 18+
The love they had was old love you couldn't have asked for something so real. Yes they belong to other people when they were younger but that where it stayed younger. Now as adults they can try to find there way without that one person and find each other great job Debbie and Leslie another 5 stars
I have read a lot of mc books and this series is one of the good mc’s. Yes they had their problems but they are always there for each other. You get the true meaning of family!! Can’t wait for the rest of the series.
This story turned out to be truly amazing. I love the direction that the club decided to take and all of the beautiful people involved and working the network to help others out. Ruger and Michelle turned out to be a great couple. Happy reading.
Wow I think book 2 might be better than 1 - no just kidding they are both awesome. Michelle and Ruger this is there story and it is a good one you have to read you won’t be disappointed. I received an ARC and this is my honest review
Finding love after tragedy is not always easy. Friends to lovers, Ruger and Michelle are the exception. I love that they are older and finding love again!
Michelle totally deserved her happy ending. This was such a wonderful story and I can't wait to read what comes next. The books just keep getting better and better
4.5 stars I really liked this book. This is Michelle's story. Of course Reaper (briefly) and Ruger included. It's got a great storyline as well. There's even a few moments that had me laughing.
Just another retelling of the previous book from a different character’s perspective. This was Elle’s mom and Benelli’s dad in this book. Pretty much the same story as Elle’s book.
This is exactly what I needed! The journey they go through to get where their suppose to be is just what I wanted for them. These ladies know what’s up when writing a story that leaves you wanting more
