An Elf Fostering a Baby Griffin?! As Mell and the Second Expeditionary Squadron continue to work tirelessly in fulfilling their various duties, a baby griffin is reported missing on a southern island and Mell’s unit is ordered to ensure its safe return. What adventures and new foods await Mell’s first-ever sea trip to the southern islands?
Meh. Somehow or rather, the author seemingly decided to change tact and started embracing some of the popular tropes and decided to make Mell an OP sorcerer and a tamer to boot. Maybe they were "inspired" by the massively popular Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill, Vol. 1 and wanted to jump onto the bandwagon? Or maybe they just got bored of trying to look for recipes and food stuff to add into the book? The food stuff that actually made it interesting in book one was quite lacking here to be honest, and it actually does seem like the author has lost focus and trying way too hard to embrace many tropes just to make it appealing. And don't get me started on the expeditions, because they came across as boring and forced, and the slavery mission was so unconvincing and dumb that I almost gave up there and then.
That's it then for me. Sad as this series kinda had potential to be so much more.
